Developer Bulletin and Public Test 13.1
This is a short overview of the planned features for Update 13.1. For more information about the upcoming features and rewards for participating in the Public Test, check out the dedicated article on our website.
IMPORTANT! Because the update is still being tested, the information in this article is tentative and reflects the state of game development at the time of its publication. Some changes and new features may be removed entirely or implemented differently by the time the update goes live.
Changes to Submarines and ASW
Starting with Update 13.1, we aim to make submarine and surface ship interactions more consistent and intuitive.
Changes to ASW
The Venezia and Hindenburg lines, as well as Prinz Eugen and Admiral Schröder, are going to be equipped with Depth Charge Airstrike instead of Depth Charges.
Tier V–VIII battleships are getting an increase in their Depth Charge Airstrike range.
Depth Charge Airstrike on Tier V–VIII battleships and cruisers is going to have a shorter cooldown, but its bomb damage will be slightly reduced.
Ships that currently have special ASW settings are not receiving any changes unless specifically noted.
Depth Charge Airstrike range is going to be increased for Ohio, Thunderer, Jean Bart, and Jean Bart B. It will become similar to the ranges for other battleships at their tiers.
Venezia, Zaō, and Yodo lines will receive the Submarine Surveillance consumable in a separate slot. It was previously available only for submarines.
Changes to Submarines
The Hydrophone consumable is going to work differently:
The consumable will allow submarines to immediately spot ships in range, regardless of terrain (similar to Hydroacoustic Search and Surveillance Radar).
The consumable can be activated in any state, but it will only detect ships while at periscope depth or on the surface.
When submarines use Hydrophone to detect ships above them and in their line of sight, static silhouettes of these ships will appear for a short period (about 6 seconds) and then disappear. Ships behind terrain will be displayed as a short flash without a silhouette.
A collision warning message will now appear for submerged submarines when there is another submarine underwater within 2 kilometers.
To balance out the changes to ASW, all submarines are going to have an improved turning circle radius. On average, it will improve by around 20%, providing submarines more opportunities to maneuver and reposition.
To accommodate the changes, the Sierra Bravo and X-Ray Papa Unaone signals will also receive submarine-specific changes.
Exterior System Update
With the release of Update 13.1, the majority of expendable camouflages available in the game will get their permanent versions. The new permanent camouflages will operate similarly to already existing permanent camouflages, such as New Year, Epoch, or Made of Steel; however, you'll be able to mount them on ships of any tier. These camouflages can be either purchased or obtained through various activities, events, and missions.
Once you obtain a standard, single-colored, abstract, or thematic camouflage (expendable or permanent) on your account, you can purchase its permanent version for all of your ships.
You can purchase permanent camouflages of the aforementioned types for Credits or Doubloons under the Exterior tab.
Lunar New Year
As part of the Lunar New Year celebrations, the Dragon Port has been updated.
Airship Escort
The Airship Escort temporary battle type is returning for Update 13.1! The battles will utilize a 12 vs. 12 format with Tier VIII–X ships of all types.

Update 13.0: New U.S. Aircraft Carriers

Early Access to U.S. Aircraft Carriers
Early Access to the upcoming U.S. aircraft carrier line begins in Update 13.0. The three ships being added are Independence, Yorktown, and Essex. In addition to these three historical vessels, camouflages for Yorktown and Essex, as well as a commemorative flag, are being added to mark the event.
U.S. Aircraft Carriers Event Pass
Update 13.0 delivers an event comprising 20 levels that you can progress through by completing a series of daily and weekly missions. Tier VI aircraft carrier Independence stands as the most prized reward in the first progression line. During this event, you'll have the option to unlock the second progression line for Doubloons. Much like the first progression line, this line also comprises a total of 20 levels, but where it stands out is in the rewards if offers: Tier VIII aircraft carrier Yorktown, a bonus package for Yorktown, Commander Statue of Liberty with 6 skill points and an individual voiceover, the Freedom permanent camouflage for Tier X Des Moines, and more!
American Tokens
You can exchange your American Tokens for Essex with a 10-skill-point Commander and Port slot, permanent camouflages for Yorktown and Essex, Wings of Freedom Premium containers, and Credits. Obtain them either via random bundles for Doubloons or by completing extra levels of the second progression line of the U.S. Aircraft Carriers Event Pass. Besides American Tokens, the random bundles also hold special and rare economic bonuses of all types, Coal, Free XP, Elite Commander XP, Credits, and American battleship Rhode Island, which can only be obtained via this route. The option to purchase the new battleship will become available in a future updates.
Sestri-Ponente Dockyard Continues
The construction of cruiser Michelangelo continues at the Sestri Ponente Dockyard in Update 13.0. During the first 3 weeks of the new update, players will be able to complete combat missions and advance through Dockyard construction phases to obtain the main reward—Michelangelo herself.
The construction process comprises 32 phases, 27 of which can be progressed through by completing Dockyard combat mission groups.
You can also complete shipbuilding phases by spending 1,750 Doubloons per phase and purchasing Starter Packs: 10 shipbuilding phases in exchange for 10,000 Doubloons and 5 shipbuilding phases in exchange for 6,000 Doubloons.
The Dockyard will remain in your Port until the release of Update 13.1.
Bounty Hunt Event
Update 13.0 also includes a new iteration of the Bounty Hunt event together with changes that were previously announced in Update 12.8. The Bounty Hunt event will be available in Random Battles, and when taking on the Bounty role, players need to helm Tier VI–X battleships, cruisers, or destroyers in battle. Both players with Bounty role and regular players will be able to earn Star Tokens, which they will be able to spend in the Star Emissaries Armory category. The main rewards are Bionic permanent camouflages for Des Moines, Buffalo, and Baltimore. Players will also be able to obtain Coal, common bonuses containers, and signals.
Star Emissaries
Besides the previously mentioned Bounty event and rewards, more goods can be found in the Star Emissaries Armory category! As part of the event, you can use Doubloons to buy random bundles that hold STAR Kitakaze, STAR Edinburgh, Commanders Andromeda and Triangulum with 10 skill points and individual voiceovers, expendable economic bonuses, and other valuable rewards. The main feature of these ships is their permanent camouflages, which dynamically change their appearance in the midst of battle depending on whether the ship is detected.
Ship Parameters Display in Battle
We've added a feature that enables players to see various ship parameters while in battle! Essentially, players will be able to click on opposing and allied ships in the Team window before or during a battle (press/hold the Tab key to access this window). A tooltip will appear providing information on the selected ship, such as hit points, armament ranges, movement speed, and possible consumables, among other parameters. This feature also allows players to hover their mouse over attributes such as shells, torpedoes, and consumables in-battle and check the data for those items, similar to the functionality in Port.
Armory
With the release of Update 13.0, Halford will become available in the Armory for 228,000 Coal. Halford is the first hybrid destroyer in our game, and the ship carries an attack aircraft tactical squadron equipped with the Engine Cooling consumable. The aircraft are armed with powerful Tiny Tim rockets with high damage and armor penetration characteristics.
Unique Upgrades
In Update 13.0, two ships will receive new unique upgrades: German Tier X destroyer Elbing and Dutch Tier X cruiser Gouden Leeuw are each getting a unique upgrade that can be mounted in Modification Slot 6.
Hololive Collaboration
Update 13.0 brings back the heroes of hololive production. Popular Japanese VTubers are ready to fill the ranks of Commanders and plunge into the heat of naval battles back-to-back with players! Welcome back the hololive commanders with individual voiceovers! Players can also obtain hololive production expendable camouflages and a memorable flag during the event.
But that's not all! Players can also complete combat missions to choose between Commander Fubuki Shirakami, with six skill points trained for I Hashidate , or Commander Moona Hoshinova, with six skill points trained for I Chengan as the final reward.
