Some more minor fixes will happen over the weekend with a new full update to come next week.

Known issues:
Some sound cut outs in rooms.
Doors are locked in the basement.
Unable to access menu in game.
Tutorial is disabled.
Light is not "baked" - this makes some areas over bright and also lowers performance.

Going forward

Hello travellers!
It has been a very long time since we pushed any sort of update, and we apologize greatly for this. Due to differences in long term vision, the game team behind World Apart has left the previous company to form our own: Eutopia Studios.
It has taken quite some time and after a fairly lengthy process, we have finally aquired all the rights and assets for World Apart, and that means we can continue working on this game where we left off.
We have a lot to do over the upcoming months, to catch up on lost time in production, but we are aiming to push an update for the game in the near future.

Again, we apologize for the long time of radio silence, but we're back now and we're not going anywhere but forward.
So here's to a bright, new future for World Apart, hip hip hooray!

Cheers,
Sanna and the team at Eutopia Studios

New game update, and a call to action!

Hello traveler! As you might have guessed, we have a new build up for you to play! With several improvements and new additions, including a height adjustment option! You can see the full changelist on the Steam Community Forum here: Game Updates.

We also have a few things we need your input on at the moment, so please take a minute to let us know what you think by commenting on this post. :)

The Shooting Range

We are thinking about making the shooting range longer and add some more variety to it. What are your thoughts on that?

Teleportation

Should we add a new "mini teleport" movement option, that steps you forward with each movement?

As always, we really appreciate your feedback, so don't be afraid of letting us know what you think of the new update, and report any new issues you might encounter in our discussion forum here on Steam.

Cheers,
Sanna, and the team at Windfall Studios.

Live on Early Access!

Why hello there! We have something exciting to share with you: World Apart is available on Steam Early Access! Hoooray! 🎉

Before you delve into World Apart, there's a few things you need to know.

 • Windfall Studios is an independent, self funded studio with experienced developers, but we are still a fairly small studio. As a small studio, we want to avoid getting drowned by the potential flood of players a fully open Early Access period might bring. The way we have chosen to do that is to charge a symbolic sum for this version of the game. Our hope is that this will leave us with genuine feedback, from players who really care about games and want to have an impact on World Apart.

 • What you are about to play is a work in progress. This Early Access version of World Apart is primarily a technical demo, and by playing you are helping our developers shape the platform that coming episodes will be layered on top of.

 • Throughout Early Access we will keep an active and continuous dialogue with you via the Steam community forums. That means that we are not just going to keep you updated of how we’re progressing, we’re going to discuss the development of this game with you, and you will be able to influence the development as it happens in a very tangible way.

In other words, we are developing this game in public, with you being able to see what we are working on and when, as well as provide us with feedback and suggestions while seeing the product grow over time.

The areas we are most keen on getting feedback on right now is movement and interaction. You will find a post about known issues in the Steam Community Discussion Forum, and we encourage you to let us know if you encounter something we should know about.

Since the story in World Apart is such a large part of the World Apart experience, we have chosen to keep the Early Access version of the game as free of spoilers as possible. You can however explore the laboratory freely, (altough we suggest you follow the tutorial at first) and we highly recommend giving the shooting gallery a go. Rumor has it that there are leaderboards.

Now, on to the practical bits! You might want to take a quick look at controls and the settings menu before you get started. Let’s begin with the controls. Let’s begin with the controls.

Oculus Rift

HTC Vive

Windows Mixed Reality
Settings
If at any point you feel that the default type of movement isn’t for you, we’ve got you covered. Just head into the settings menu, and switch to your preferred type of motion.

 • Left side: UI Highlight color
 • Curved line on top left: movement smooth/teleport
 • Top middle icon: “Rotation”
 • Top right icon: HUD Reticle
 • Bottom left: quit
 • First slider: movement speed
 • Second slider: volume
 • Third slider: graphical quality

We are really excited about going on this journey with you all, and we are looking forward to a constructive Early Access period, filled with lots of tweaking, bug fixing and unhealthy amounts of caffeine. See you in the lab!

Welcome to World Apart!
Hello and welcome!
My name is Sanna, and I'm Creative Communications Director at Windfall Studios. It's a fancy way of saying that I like communicating with people about games, more specifically: our game!

As you might allready know, World Apart is an Episodic VR Adventure, coming to PC in early 2018. Before we go to launch, however, there will be Early Access.

We at Windfall Studios firmly believe that the most important thing when developing a game, is player feedback. We want players to be able to have a real impact on the game we develop, as we develop it, and to make the players see that their opinions matter. We know what we want from our game but when it comes to the gameplay experience, the players are the real experts.

And that's when you come in. We want you to join us on our journey, to put our game to the test and be a vital part of the process as we are getting closer and closer to launching World Apart.

If you add World Apart to your Steam wishlist, you'll get a handy notification when the game is released on Early Access.

Cheers,
Sanna, and the whole team over at Windfall Studios.
