Wulverblade
Wulverblade now includes Japanese language too!
Hey Everyone!
Looooong time no speak!
Today I come to you with great news indeed! Wulverblade has officially just launched in Japan!
As you’ll be well aware, Wulverblade has A LOT of written content, so creating a multi-language version has been nigh on impossible, at least from a financial position anyway. But we were overjoyed to have formed a partnership with the amazing Kakehashi Games to bring Wulverblade to the Japanese market! This is quite a day for me (Mike, creative director) as I grew up with an insane passion for Japanese gaming as back in the 90’s everything released first in Japan and importing games to the UK was a very exciting experience. You can imagine my joy in hearing that the partnership was set in stone and my beloved Wulverblade would be releasing there too. Best of all, I had to design a Japanese logo variant too…you can’t begin to imagine my excitement, I promise you.
I’m rambling. So, in short, you can play Wulverblade in Japanese now, so to everyone in Japan, ENJOY!
Thanks.
Mike.
The First Update
Hello everyone, hope you’ve been enjoying Wulverblade! It’s been a while since we posted something, so we thought it was time to let everyone know what we’ve been up to as we release some of the bugfixes we’ve been working on. Most of what our patch today addresses are issues brought to our attention by the community in either the steam forums or our official discord server. We’re always interested in reading what you have to say, so please stop by.
Today’s patch includes:
Fix to end-level leaderboards invisible text
Change “Call me Vlad” target from 1000 impalements to 250
Fix to “Primus Cades” achievement failing to award if you skip the cutscene
Fix to being unable to rebind “B” button on controller
Fix to player 2 being unable to use keyboard/mouse bindings (Any saved keyboard/mouse bindings may be reset as a result)
Fix to “White squares” bug by adding new image prompts for controllers, keyboard, and mouse
Minor UI fixes
Tons more minor bugfixes and improvements!
Earlier this month we were able to attend PAX East and represent Wulverbade at the Indie Megabooth. It was a blast being able to connect with a few of you and to show off the game to lots of new people, including this awesome cosplayer who stopped by our booth who we swore must have been none other than our brave hero Caradoc.
The centerpiece of our booth was a one-of-a-kind arcade cabinet, built to showcase Wulverblade the way the games that inspired it existed. The cab’s back at the office now; and we’ve all been busy trying to catch up with all the huge scores from PAX (after work hours, of course :B1:).
We’ve had a productive and busy few months after launch and just wanted to thank you all for your support, reviews, and for just playing the game we’ve been working so hard on for the past few years. We’re excited for the future of Wulverblade and want express our gratitude to you all for making it possible with us.
Best,
Darkwind Media and Fully Illustrated

New Blog Post - Optimizing Wulverblade: Threading Animation Updates
Hey Everyone,
So Brian has just posted an uber technical Wulveblade blog post about some of the optimisation techniques we used in Unity as we readied for launch. If you're a fellow dev or technically minded, take a read, its deep stuff. Well, it is to me as I only hold the crayons around here!
If you have any questions feel free to post them on here or directly on the blog, Brian will be happy to answer!
Thanks.
Mike.
First Steam Footage!
Hey everyone,
I know we've gone quiet again, sorry about that, its all hands to the pumps right now as we get the game launch ready.
To show you all that things are progressing wonderfully I thought it was high time to share some Steam footage! This video is the first video of the Steam version to be shown online and you can see just how beautifully it runs on a 4yr old card. This footage is from my 760 which was released in 2013 and it
flies along at a good 100ish FPS :)

Enjoy and please feel welcome to share the video and add us to your wishlists!
Thanks.

Sneakily one of the most entertaining games of the year!
Unbelievable! Whilst we've not had a full review at GamesRadar we have just been featured in a new article and its full of glowing praise!
We've landed yet more amazing press and reviews this past week and its been mind blowing! We've had so many 8/10's, 9/10's and even a 10/10 but yet the great reviews still keep coming! We're blown away!
The Switch launch week has been incredible. The reviews have been pouring in and they've been incredible too! We've even managed to land a 10/10! Unreal!
Here's a collection of some of the reviews that we've had so far, please take a look below:
As you may be aware Wulverblade has been out on the Switch for 2 weeks now and has had AMAZING reviews! I'm going to post up some of those reviews soon for you to see, but in the meantime check out the coverage on IGN's NVC podcast from last Friday, they loved it! Yey!

We're incredibly happy with the reception so far and can't wait to get Steam version finished up and launched. Full 60+fps, leaderboards, trading cards, the lot. Not long now!
