BIG THANK YOU
First of all, *BIG THANK YOU* to everyone that shared Wuppo, streamed Wuppo, left a good review, provided us with feedback, begged for a Switch version, or just did anything at all to help us show this game to the world. Wuppo has been an incredibly important part of (more than 1/3rd of) our entire lives. Thanks to you, we were able to continue working on it for so long and make it as good as we possibly can.
Definitive Edition Description:
We’ve constantly been updating Wuppo since its release in 2016. Adding Boss Run, a minimap, and many more things. But we haven’t shared anything that we’ve been working on for the past year. We took a good hard look at Wuppo and all the feedback we’ve been getting, and tried to finetune... basically everything. We added some cutscenes, redesigned some bosses, added visual improvements, refined the soundtrack, added some additional content, created solutions for potentially frustrating parts. Our main purpose was to finetune the experience for as many players as possible from beginning to end. So it is the same Wuppo you know & love, but better!
Here I'll list some of the changes. Beware of SPOILERS.
Co-Op: We added co-op (couch), where the 2nd player can play as Denksnavel. Our main goal of this feature was to provide a little help to players that need it. So if you’re having trouble with a specific boss, or just need an extra pair of eyes to look for clues, make your friend / parent jump in at any time with Denksnavel.
Visual updates:
More dynamic lighting. Lights can cast subtle shadows on the terrain. The characters also receive light on their bodies.
Fog: Sometimes the area gets wet / foggy.
updated maps: A few maps have been refined.
The camera now zooms in at some of the more important cutscenes
Some colour palettes have been refined and the game is a bit brighter during night time.
Audio updates:
A couple of brand new songs have been added to the game, and many songs have been retouched slightly. We tried to create a better structure for the soundtrack from beginning to end, with some more recurring themes, highlights and consistency in quality.
The important NPCs also have more varying voices, giving them much more personality.
New / changed areas:
New trainstation: Wisest Wum: Ever wanted to test your Wuppo knowledge? Well, now you can. Wisest Wum is a quiz show that gets hosted at one of the train stations. You can earn (or lose) a lot of smurt by contending.
Redav Kned’s Guesthouse has been made easier. The original difficulty is still available when playing the game on INSANE. The ritual has also been reworked to give much better feedback to the player and help solve it.
Boss changes:
The final boss has been completely reworked. It’s super important to us that the game ends in a spectacular manner. After watching players fighting the boss and receiving feedback, we ultimately thought we could’ve done a much better job, so we just started over. We tried to bring back everything the player has learned from previous fights. We really hope you enjoy the renewed fight.
King Blione: has an extra attack
Blafknoft’s attacks changed a bit.
All other bosses received some (smaller) changes as well. Either balancing, or improving player feedback.
Happiness hints: Our mutual friend Toekomsthakker now has a new feature, where he gives you hints for any of the happiness that the player is missing. A great excuse to spend your Wondersplenk Coins.
New items: We added a light bulb and a blusser outfit. The light bulb makes you glow in the dark for 7 minutes, and the blusser outfit can be used as a skin when using bucket.
Added & adjusted dialogues: We saw an opportunity to improve the quality on some of the dialogues. Most of the changes are modifications on existing dialogues, but there’s some additional dialogues as well for the new cutscenes / new area.
Gamepad/Controller controls: A new shortcut menu has been added when playing with a Controller. It acts like an inventory with 9 slots, but it’s very quick & easy to select the desired item. Also, without the need to memorize which specific buttons you have directed to specific items. The game also runs in slow motion when using this feature during boss fights.
Additional QOL changes
Game now pauses if you browse your inventory during a boss fight.
Added a couple more Autosaves throughout the game.
Losing an item doesn’t make you lose the hotkey until you change it. Which is useful if you just throw your gumgumgun in the gumcore machine and regain it within a couple of seconds.
Game automatically adds hotkeys for new items (optional)
Reworked the options menu to be easier to read, as well as providing some additional graphics settings.
Blieken instrument controls have been made more flexible. Some people didn’t realise they had to hold the action button while picking a note. Now you can use it either way.
Boss run score: one of the scores now indicates how many times you’ve been hit rather than how much damage you’ve received.
DLC = free As it is now called the "Definitive Edition", all DLC is included for free. The Original Soundtrack, the Bonus shops and the Wuppo Fun Pack are now included into the base game. The price of the base game stays the same.
Performance: The game's performance has been massively increased and also uses "delta time". Which comes down to that it handles frame-drops better. Keep in mind that you can tweak the settings in graphics to ensure 60fps. The game will give a warning if you dip below 60fps.
tl;dr: Game is better.
This will be the final big update for Wuppo, as we’ll be moving on to our new game now. If you like Wuppo: Definitive Edition, please share it with your friends/family, let us know in a steam review, tell your favorite streamer to play it. Thanks x 1000!

Minimap
The game now features a minimap. Finally.
Accesed by pausing the game.
Displays the rooms you have visited thus far, divided by area.
Displays save buckets, stores, projectors and where you are.
Also displays yellow flags to help guide you with finishing your current story objective.
Displays some sidequests (not all of them!) with white question marks. I'll be adding a bunch more of these throughout the next update(s).
Pause screen also displays the name of the area you are currently in, plus your current story objective.
Pause screen features it's own music theme which will start playing after pausing the game for longer than 15 seconds.
Focus for future updates:
We want to implement some in-game hints for gathering 100 happiness.
Wuppo has gone through quite some (technical) changes in the past months. And even though we continuously test the game as much as we can mentally handle, we're only with 2 people, so I do expect some more glitches to pop up. We're always watching the forums and the Discord, so please do report any bugs you run into. You're saving me a lot of time!
Fixes (1.1.99):
Fixed: Boss Run leave & restart buttons don't work properly.
Carlo no longer disappears from the Wumhouse after saving and loading the game during the cleaning quest.
For anyone who's got stuck due to the above issue, loading your game will fix it for you. And you will receive 20 smurt as a compensation for the trouble.
Fixed: Wumhouse ambience wasn't playing.
Fixed: an error that displayed after playing Rami's minigame if you are not connected to the internet.
1.1.100*:
Dorst Caffé Store no longer loses an item if you try to buy an item but Murk appears during the transaction.
King Blionecan no longer get stuck after the boss fight.
A glitch where the story objective didn't update has been fixed.
Blafknoft's projectiles now have a highlight, so it's easier to avoid them.
1.1.101*:
(SPOILER ALERT)
If you enter the tunnel without a candle, Denksnavel offers to buy it for you.
If you get to the gate at the Sinkhole without a Popohat, Denksnavel offers to buy it for you.
Filmstrip credits music has been updated.
The game saves automatically after listening to a new Bert Smulder story.
Character rotation on slopes animates a bit smoother, and the hiccups have been fixed. Same goes for some of the enemies that walk on slopes.
Made slight changes to a room in the Wumgarden just outside the temple on the right side.
Time passes even faster when you're relaxing in the bubble bath in the Wumhouse
Increased the speed of the CREDIT rising when you've done a couple of Popo City quests.
The Popo City Central music fades out right before Uberhenk's cutscene starts.
Slightly improved Uberhenks cutscene if you are already inside the CREDIT room as it starts.
fixed: Denksnavel now displays his actual colour in your inventory.
fixed: Denksnavel now has something to say about Jucho (the sleeping wum on the pillows) in the Wumhouse.
fixed: Pressing pause during credits no longer displays the minimap for the Blusser Islands.
Enjoy!

Wuppo Hotfix [1.1.96*]
Hi!
You may have noticed that the last version (1.1.92~1.1.93) introduced a very ...nasty glitch where items can get lost after placing them on pedestals and leaving the room. We're very sorry for the inconvenience! It should be fixed in the new version (1.1.95).
To compensate you for the inconvenience, there is a chance that you get 50 smurt and a party mooper depending on whether the game recognizes that your savefile has suffered from the glitch. It will also add back the missing items to your inventory. An additional change has been made to ensure that everyone else can continue their journey as well.
Fixes:
Pedestals should now correctly save and load the items again.
If the game recognizes that one of the following items were lost due to the glitch (Bucket Hat, Splenk ball, Fnakker helmet, Breevis Toy), they may be added back into your inventory when loading your savefile.
Additionally, if the game didn't recognize the glitch in your savefile, Breevis'gate will remain opened once you've opened it the first time. So you can continue your journey.
Steam Screenshots are working again.
1.1.96: Fixed a new error that appeared after defeating the boss in the Wum Garden Temple.
If you still have issues related to the glitch, make sure your game is version 1.1.96+ (you can check in the Title Screen or when pausing the game). Then @LARS me in the Discord and I will help you out as soon as I can.
Wuppo Patch Notes [1.1.92] Shader improvement, Speedrun optimization, online highscores for Train minigame, several fixes
Here are the Wuppo 1.1.92 Patch notes! BTW, if you're interested in our next project, please join our Discord (we post some teasers there) or follow us on twitter @knuistperzik to stay tuned!
SPOILER ALERT
Small visual update for the smoothness shader:
Smoothness shader no longer has fuzzy edges.
Smoothness Shader no longer makes some purple items partly transparent.
Smoothness Shader no longer displays purpleish jagged edges around GUI elements.
Speedwum improvements:
I've made a couple of changes to some RNG events in order to improve the flow for Wuppo speedrunners.
Popo Train Departure: If you acquire the Popo Chipcard within 25 minutes after starting a new game, the Popo train will reset to depart exactly 45 seconds after picking up the chipcard inside the Wumhouse.
Popo City Fishing: Using a good fishing hook within 45 minutes after starting a new game will now have a 100% chance of catching Hendrick's Hat.
Tweaks:
Rami's Train minigame now features online highscores.
Rami's game will only be available after beating the Dorst miniboss or entering Popo City Central. We noticed some players missed out on Dorst Caffé entirely because they were too busy playing the minigame and unaware that the train had another stop at all.
HEYYYY
We've been busy with our next project, but there's always a little love reserved for Wuppo updates. Here are the 1.1.86 patch notes. (More on the new stuff soon...ish. follow us @knuistperzik or join our Discord to stay tuned!).
Demo:
The (FREE TO PLAY) demo is available again. If you have a hard time deciding whether you want to buy Wuppo, you can try it out for free. If you decide to buy the full version, you can continue where you left of. Having the demo back also means you can get the secret 101th happiness again.
Ported to Gamemaker Studio 2:
Wuppo has been ported to Gamemaker Studio 2, which means much better performance. If you didn't have a stable 60fps before, this may improve your experience.
New separated full screen settings:
You can now choose to play fullscreen letterboxed or fullscreen scaled. Additionally, when you play in windowed mode you can now drag the window.
Note: if you couldn't play the game in fullscreen with the highest smoothness setting, try the new fullscreen setting (scaled) with a low resolution (640 x360). A lower resolution will mean that the animations are less smooth, but with the new fullscreen setting you can still scale up the view to match your screen size.
Wuppo is 60% off on Steam until the 21st of May!
SPOILER WARNING
(Minor) visual updates:
I made some changes to the night shaders at the Wumgarden and the Sinkhole. Some dark areas feature a subtle scenery wobble animation as well.
( Shader change should improve clarity of the scenery at night time; left = old, right = new )pls ignore that the grass displays behind the house, I just noticed it and I'll fix that soon xD
Tweaks:
the levers in Redav Kned's Guesthouse now have red and green colours.
Added some torches to the Fnakker Hive so it's easier to see at night.
Fixes:
The black screen fullscreen bug has (FINALLY) been fixed.
Fixed the bug where you hear all songs at the same time for a second when booting the game.
Enjoy!
