Summer update info

Dear players and everyone, who’s interested in our game! We’re glad to inform you, that nowadays we’re actively preparing for the beta release of the game! Everything that we’ve promised is almost ready, but we’d like to let you know of some details.



Instead of the cooperative mode we decided to show you a bit of the plot: the prologue, some dialogs and a boss. The cooperative mode requires major further development, that’s why it won’t be available in the next update.

The leaderboards and the statistics will be reset. Current achievements will be deleted and replaced with entirely new ones.

We’ll let you know of the exact release date later.

After the release of the coming update we’ll correct all the errors and deficiencies that you will find and start moving towards the beta release.

In the coming update, which will bring the game to the beta stage, you’ll see a wealth of modifications:

  • The design has been fully redone: we’ve got new models of enemies, surroundings and weapons. The gaming space has become three-dimensional.
  • The performance has improved: it’ll be convenient to play even with the highest number of enemies and effects.
  • We introduce the new audio system. All sounds in the expanded gaming space are more realistic.
  • The VFX make the player reach a new level of perception. Each explosion now causes shock wave. The total amount of particles has been increased.
  • 3 new types of enemies: light, medium and heavy combat drones, each with its own behavior, design and weapons.
  • An advanced AI that is dynamic in making decisions depending on the playing situation.
  • The IK body responds to your movements as correctly as possible, which makes you feel part of the gaming process.
  • A co-op mode for at least two players.

The update is coming out this summer.

We also have great plans for the release of the game.

For now on we’ve almost finished creating a full scale storyline with all kinds of events, dialogs and even a tiny bit of drama. We are developing new models of enemies, as well as huge, unique in their mechanics bosses. Also, we’re waiting for the full release of the Unity engine 2018 and their new instrument Scriptable Render Pipeline. SRP will let the game’s performance break new ground: we’ll be able to rewrite the algorithm of shades’ rendering, lighting and geometry, which will significantly reduce the load on the GPU.

Information about the current development of beta version

Dear players and everyone who follows our game! We are happy to give a report on our latest achievements!



  • A few days ago we started working on the system of co-op play, so for sure there will be a multiplayer. You'll be able to play via Steam as well as via LAN.
  • Also, we've finished working on the drones' AI-base. It may still look clumsy, but we keep developing it.
  • Our 3D-artist has almost finished creating the new surroundings (80% ready, including the textures)
  • We've been working hard (and we continue working) on the optimization. The game constantly generates 90 FPS in a scene with 16 drones (and that's a lot, believe me) both on Oculus and on Vive (no, they aren't the same thing). We decided not to switch to Unreal Engine 4, although it has been discussed.
  • We added a VRIK body for the players. For now on it looks odd (and scary).

We're firing on all cylinders to get the beta-version ready as soon as possible. The day of release is not set yet, but we can promise it will be in summer.

Xenobox VR 0.1 beta in development!

Dear players! We'd like to inform you, that we are now intensively working on the next update. This update will be the transition to the beta-release of the game, where lots of innovations are waiting for you.



So, in the 0.1b-version you'll see:

  • A complete change of surroundings: a new room, new design, new game mechanics connected with the surroundings.
  • The new drone models, the concept of which we have already shown in one of our posts
  • Drone's AI. They move around the whole room now, which makes the game more dynamic and hardcore.
  • New weapon models and recasted shooting mechanics.
  • IK-body of your character. The virtual body ensures a total immersion in the game and adds the thrill.
  • And much more.




Also, in the following updates we are going to add:

  • The story mode (3 bosses and a peculiar narration on behalf of the station's artificial intelligence.)
  • Cooperative mode for (2-4) players

Description of game mechanics and interaction with weapons

Dear players, we have already released the third update and it includes a lot of mechanics that require an explanation. We are working on a training mode, but for now we have written severa manuals. They describe the basic principles of gameplay and interaction with weapons. We strongly recommend to review these manuals to get maximum enjoyment from the game.

Xenobox VR approximate release date and some concept arts

Dear players! We plan to release Xenobox VR on December 31, 2017.
By that time we plan to add:

  • a lot of new game mechanics
  • new models of drones
  • AI for drones
  • new game room (very big)
  • a lot of new weapons
    And more...

Here are some concept arts:

Light combat drone.
Small UAV, equipped with light plasma gun and a weak shield generator. Also has a laser guidance system.


Medium combat drone.
UAV of medium size, equipped with a pair of medium-sized plasma guns, which can be switched to automatic shooting mode. Also has a shield generator and a laser guidance system. This drone is much stronger than the light combat drone.


Heavy combat drone.
UAV of large sizes. It has exceptional durability and firepower. Equipped with two powerful plasma guns, two six-charge rocket launchers with a target capture function and an ultra-precise laser guidance system. As well as the rest of the drones has a shield generation system, but unlike the lighter models it can fire with the activated shields. This drone is moved by 4 jet engines.


Also we will release an update (0.3a) on September 2, wich will include a lot of bug fixes and some new mechanics.
