You Arrive In A Town - 1 Year On

Hey folks!

To help celebrate the upcoming 1 year anniversary of You Arrive In A Town, we've put together a batch of tweaks and changes to help fix some existing issues while also including some new QOL changes and visual overhauls.

Patch 1.0.8

  • Rebalanced first chapter level difficulties
  • Increased player character turn and move speed
  • Added visuals to show when a new enemy wave spawns
  • Added see through effect when player characters are hidden behind objects
  • Added 2 new achievements and tweaked certain existing ones
  • Updated intro screen and menu interface
  • Tweaked and improved enemy spawning effects
  • Added further menu sounds to improve feedback
  • Improved tutorial level geometry
  • General UI visual improvements
  • General texture and sprite improvements
  • General lighting and shadows improvements
  • File optimisation

In addition to these changes we're also lowering the base price of the game so you can experience the world of YAIAT for less!

A lot has changed since we first released You Arrive In A Town on Steam last January. Myself, Joe, and Andrew have been busy making our own first steps into the world of game development professionally. We'd like to thank everybody for your, advice, support, and feedback over this last year and, hopefully, we'll see you all around again in the future.

All the best,

Dan, Joe, and Andrew.

YAIAT 1.0.7 is now live

Just a small hotfix patch to help with some quality of life issues.

  • Physics should now be normalised across all types of computer. Some items/elements of the game will now feel weaker or stronger to be in line with the original intention.

  • VSync will now be on by default to reduce screen tearing. You can toggle this off in the main menu if you so desire.

Thanks as ever for supporting us and our game, and if you have any suggestions, criticisms or ideas, feel free to mention them here and we'll do our best to act on them!

Physics Hotfix

Don't worry about it, absolutely nothing went wrong.
