Hello everyone,
We would like to thank the community by extending the “launch window” DLC beyond the original planned week to a full month after release (until May 15). This includes Adol's Adventure Essentials DLC, Digital Mini Art Book, Digital Soundtrack Sampler and Laxia's "Eternian Scholar" Costume.
Today, we pushed fixes that were present in the preview branch to the default branch. The most significant fixes include:

Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA Day 10 Report & Known Issues
Hello everyone,

Today we pushed a new version to the “Preview” build.
You can access the preview branch by taking the following steps:
1) From your Steam Library, right click on Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA and select “Properties”
2) Go to the “BETAS” tab
3) Select the "preview" beta from the dropdown menu. This should start installing the beta version of Ys VIII (no password required)
When it is determined that these fixes are stable, they will be pushed to the default branch. This newest Preview build addresses the following:
Change Ally Behavior functionality that has been assigned a key by default on keyboards
Fixed a display bug that occurred when skipping the Shared Consciousness tutorial
General text fixes
We are still investigating the internal rendering resolution issues discussed in last week’s reports. We are also close to a fix for the flickering issues found in the Eroded Valley and Towering Coral Forest and believe that it should be ready in tomorrow’s update.

We would like to thank everyone who has been patient with our updates, we would like to inform the community that we have extended the “launch window” DLC beyond the original planned week to a full month after release as a thanks to everyone’s assistance and patience.
Today we launched a new patch which integrated the joystick improvements from the preview build with some new fixes:
Improved joystick control (now true analog rather than 8-directional)
General text fixes
Fixed an issue that was causing the OP movie video and audio to stutter
Fixed an issue that was causing the touchpad/tablet service to interrupt the game roughly every 15 minutes
We are still investigating the internal rendering resolution issues discussed in last week’s reports.

We would like to announce that we’ve rolled out a new branch for Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA. This branch is intended to be a preview of the fixes that the developers are working on. Please note that this branch is not as stable as the default branch, but contains work-in-progress fixes and improvements. When it is determined that these fixes are stable, they will be pushed to the default branch.

Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA Day 2 Report & Known Issues
Hello everyone,
We would like to announce that we’ve rolled out a new update for Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA. This update is intended to solve some major issues we encountered at launch.
Our latest controller patch has resolved many of the crashes that occur on launch. If this is still occurring, we highly suggest updating your graphics card drivers to their latest versions.
We have discovered another issue with a temporary fix regarding the screen resolution and resizing. If you have resized the window in windowed mode and then selected full screen, the game will be attempt to force the current resolution in full screen. If you run the game in windowed mode, then resized and quit the game, you will need to delete the settings.ini file located inside your game folder to restore resolution settings to default. This is a temporary solution that we intend to solve in our next patch, at our highest priority.
If you are encountering audio issues (skipping, interrupted looping), we recommend checking on if there is a conflict between multiple sound devices on your system. Try disconnecting all sound devices except the desired output and seeing if this resolves the issue (thanks to MicahDS for the tip).

Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA Day 1 Report & Known Issues

Today we launched Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA for Steam and for GOG.com. Awareness of certain issues has arisen from both internal testing and from submissions from diligent players eager to dive into the game.
We appreciate your enthusiasm, and thank for your patience.
To begin, we have isolated one of the widest-reported bugs concerning crashes occurring on start and subsequent issues related to controller support. We have created a tutorial to temporarily solve the issue while we implement a permanent solution. You can find out more in our Troubleshooting Forum post here.
We are currently investigating all reports coming in to our Troubleshooting Forum, so please continue to report any and all issues you are encountering. We kindly request that you include additional relevant information such as the steps to reproduce and your system specs.

Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA coming April 16, 2018
NIS America is happy to announce that Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA will be available on Steam® on April 16, 2018! The game contains content and updated localization from the current PlayStation®4 version.
In addition, the following will only be available for free for just one week at launch:
Adol’s Adventure Essentials DLC (including the “Silver Armor” and “Adventurer’s Clothes” costumes)
Digital Mini Art Book
Digital Soundtrack Sampler
Laxia’s “Eternian Scholar” Costume
On April 23, 2018, only Laxia’s “Eternian Scholar” Costume will remain available for purchase. The Digital Mini Art Book, Digital Soundtrack Sampler, and the Adol’s Adventure Essentials DLC will no longer be available.
