Game Update V1.9.8 - Hunter Hunted Arcade Mode
Hey Guys and Gals,
The biggest thing to note with today's update is that we will be resetting ranks and paying out another round of Conquest Crates based upon your current best rank in Solos, Duos, and Fives. Alongside this payout we have a new arcade mode Hunter Hunted, a new community skin for DEV streams/giveaways, and a few bug fixes. One last thing to note is that the final legendary from the Sleighload Crate has been acquired and with it that the crate has been retired. Congrats to all the players that were able to get their hands on one. For more info on today's patch you can read up more below.

Hunter Hunted Arcade Mode
An all new Arcade Mode has made it's way into the game. Tactical play and well thought out engagements will be needed to get you out of the Combat Zone in one piece. When you eliminate another player you will be marked by a beam shooting up into the sky for all nearby players to see. You may have tracked down that elimination, but at what cost? If you didn't have someone tracking you before your fight you most certainly will afterwards. Hopefully you have eyes in the back of your head, because you are going to need them to survive this game of cat and mouse.
Season 3 Warm Up Begins
With this patch we will be resetting everyone's ranks and paying out Conquest Crates based upon the region that has your highest placements.
Payout Table:
ROYALTY - 5 Crates
MASTER - 3 Crates
DIAMOND - 2 Crates
PLATINUM - 1 Crates
GOLD and BELOW - 0 Crates
These rewards are paid out for EACH mode (Solos, Duos, Fives)
Conquest Crate Skins:
Z-Wrex Backpack
Straight from the Mesozoic Era comes the brand new community backpack we are calling Z-WREX! This armored and spiked up backpack is the perfect sack to protect your back! Z-Wrex will only be available through Z1BR community streams and social media accounts. Possible ways of acquiring this epic armored back defender could be anything from a chat giveaway during the DEV streams, to a best outfit contest on twitter, to prizing for players that win a match on the Z1BR public game streams.
Bug Fixes:
Fixed an issue where you would be stuck momentarily in your ADS sensitivity when swapping to another weapon even though you were no longer in ADS.
Parachute no longer clips through white background when rotated on the Customization screen.
Fixed one of the loading screens had “spectator” text on it.
Fixed a client crash.
Game Update V1.9.7 - QoL Audio Update
Today we have a quality of life patch centered around footstep audio level and gas alert volume. Alongside the audio changes we have a returning arcade mode Pleasant Valley Nightmare and a number of bug fixes.
During the down time the test server will have solos unlocked so that you can hop in and check out the audio changes.
-SUP3R
Pleasant Valley Nightmare
Welcome to Pleasant Valley Nightmare muahahahaha... Ok now that we got that out of our system, onto a more serious note for those who have not played this mode before.
This game type is centered around Pleasant Valley in the center of the map. Every match will be a battle to survive through the night into the morning as the time progresses over the course of the match. In typical battle royale fashion you are looking to be the last one standing to take home the win.
Quality of Life Audio Changes
You will now find a new volume slider in the Game Sounds section of the audio settings menu call Gas Alert Volume. This slider will affect the siren audio level and the sound that occurs when the gas starts moving.
The sound level of footsteps has been turned up slightly to make them more present in relation to other sounds in the mix.
News Ticker Bar
You will now see a red bar with scrolling white text in the front end menu. This is a news ticker that will link out to the newest info from the @Z1BattleRoyale account on twitter.
Bug Fixes
Fixed the frame rate hit that would occur when scrolling around in Audio Menu.
Fixed an issue that was causing players to bounce off the ground when landing from the parachute phase at the start of a match.
Fixed an issue where sometimes when landing in a parachute the player is teleported back into the sky.
Fixed an issue that would not allow you to seat swap while simultaneously pressing W or S and your seat swap keybind.
Game Update V1.9.6 - The Return of the 4 Shot AR
Another week another patch. A couple changes and bug fixes coming this week that you will want to read up on below. Alongside these changes we have the return of Weapon Roulette to the Arcade Mode.
Also, during the down time today we will be live streaming on twitch.tv/z1battleroyale (2pm PST / 10 PM GMT / 7 AMM JST) and spectating/playing in some Test Server solo matches while we test out a new "Easy Loot" mechanic. Looking to gather feedback from you all. Hope to see you there!
-SUP3R
Edit: added "QoL Looting Change" to patch notes.
Weapon Roulette
If you hop into the arcade this week, you will find yourself dropping into a match of Weapon Roulette! Everyone will be equipped with the same firepower, but who can utilize it the best? Be prepared though as every so often your weapon will be swapped to another random weapon along with everyone else. The player who can survive the longest while making the best use of whatever weapon manifests itself in there hands will be the victor!
The Return of the 4 Shot AR-15
The AR-15 has been returned to its original 4 shot damage values. 25 damage to the helmet, 25 damage for body shots. Also, note that on a helmet hit the AR will apply a level 2 bleed.
QoL Looting Change
There is now a small buffer around items when looting, allowing them to be picked up a bit easier. This has made looting a faster and more fluid process. Get your loot quick, so you can get to collecting those eliminations faster. We dub this "Easy Loot".
Crate Opening
Have a old locked crate? Have some skulls laying around? These crates are now able to be unlocked using both skulls and crowns.
Bugs:
The Legendary Dread Pirate Eyepatch now has the "Try Me" button.
A few front porches on some of the houses in residential areas were not acting as solid objects when interacting with a vehicle. These have been fixed and will no longer allow vehicles to drive through them.
Fixed issue where the animation network could get out of sync if it was out of your view. Ex. the standing/crouch bug when you turn your camera around.
Renamed Lost Elf Bandana to Green Face Bandana to prevent Steam Marketplace complications.
Fixed an issue where players could access the Skull store to buy Victory crates.
Fixed an issue where Region select was calculating an extra 10ms to ping time.

The magnum has had the damage and recoil set to PS3 values.
The M9 movement speeds related to strafe were not correct. This issue has been corrected.
Audio for remote players firing the AR-15 has been tuned to be closer to PS3. (Running the original file through the current system the same way the AK and Shotgun we changed in patch 1.9.3)

The idle animation on remote players will no longer occur at longer distances
You will no longer be removed from sprint when damaged, regardless of the damage source (bullet, grenade, melee, etc)

-SUP3R
Santa's Slay Arcade Event
The elves have rebelled against Santa and are battling each other to take his place. Players (aka the elves) will drop into the combat zone map dressed in their winter's best and take part in a snowball fight to end all snowball fights. Plot twist though, somewhere on the map is Santa's severed head, if an elf can locate and acquire this item they will become Santa himself. Equipped with a snowball LMG Santa is back and looking to restore order with some ice cold punishment.
Through the challenges associated with this event you will be able to earn the three skins seen below. Wearing the reindeer items in the arcade mode will help you in your quest to find Santa.
New Currency: Credits and Purchasing/Unlocking Crates w/ Currency
With this patch we will be introducing a new currency called Credits. This will be the currency that is obtained through your daily challenges and at the end of matches based upon how well you performed in that game.
You will no longer be able to acquire skulls as a form of currency in game. Your current skulls will still exist and be usable for purchasing/unlocking crates. (These will eventually be phased out and remaining balances will be converted into a separate reward of some kind)
Credits will also be usable to purchase and unlock crates.
To kick things off, the Witch Hunt and Sleighload Crates will be purchasable through this system.
Starting January 9th you will be able to use your in game currencies to unlock any locked crates that you may already own. *edit: due to a UI limitation the crates will only be able to be opened with skulls/crowns. We will be working on a fix to get credits to work at a later date*
Off-Season Rewards Payout and Stats Reset
We are splitting the Off-Season in two. What does this mean for you? Twice the rewards! As of this patch the first half of the off-season is now complete, and you will be paid out conquest crates based upon your highest rank in; solos, duos, and fives (payout is based off the region that you achieved your highest rank in).
Your stats have now been reset for the off-season and we will payout conquest crates again before we jump into Season 3!
*Please note that this crate can't be purchased through crowns or real money. It is only obtained through in game achievement.*
Combat and Weapon Changes
We have a few updates to the combat and weapons in the game. You will definitely want to read through these as there are a couple changes that have been asked about for a while.
The Hellfire has been removed from normal play and replaced with our old friend the 1911. Your hellfire skins have been converted and moved over to the 1911 in the front end customization menu.
The M9 and Sniper Rifle have been changed to their PS3 values. (Though the sniper is using the M40 model its functionality is same as the Preseason 3 Hunting Rifle)
Weapons now apply bleeds when taking off armor (laminated or makeshift) and helmets. Headshot damage on helmets was returned to PS3 values for AR and AK. The AR will now bring a player to 75 health and level 2 bleed when removing a helmet. The AK will now bring a player to 70 health and level 2 bleed when hitting a helmet.
Resist Modifiers for Laminated and Makeshift have been reverted to PS3 values. ARs, pistols, and fists went from 100 resist to 95 resist.
Jump Shot Nerf: When jumping and firing only the first shot will be accurate. After the first shot is fired the following bullets will begin to function off a cone of fire based system. This change will effect the AR, AK, M9, and Magnum,
Quality of Life Change: Hipfire will no longer take you out of sprint. This will allow for a smoother and faster feel in close quarter combat.
Minor Updates (UI, World, Audio)
Combat zone and select sections of the Z2 map have had small face lifts for the holiday season and festivities. You will see holiday decor spread throughout the two maps.
For arcade events with multiple challenges, the UI will now hide the completed challenge and expose another one that has yet to be completed. This will make it much easier to keep up with your status on challenges for events.
The PS3 sound files have been applied to the shotgun and AK.
Arcade mode now has a mouseover that displays top 10 matches. After completing 10 matches the mouseover menu will also show total matches played, total kills, and total wins for arcade games you play during the season. Mouse over ARCADE to view.
Update to shader engine to allow for weather to be changed in the environment (snow).

Known Issues
There is an issue with the arcade event challenge showing up as 0 out of 0 for the completion tracking in the UI. This issue fixes itself after playing a couple matches. We have a hot fix that should roll out tomorrow to fix it going forward.
Sleighload Crate
Also, there seems to be an elf that has been complaining about losing his green bandana... wonder what that is all about.
Test server unlocked in all regions.
We have unlocked the test server in all regions. Solos are now open for play. Hop in and test out the shotgun, m9, magnum, and sniper rifle.
Weapon tuning coming to test
Heads up!
We have a new patch coming to test later this afternoon with more weapon tunings. Similar to last week when we made our Preseason 3 tuning pass on the AR and AK we have changes coming to test for 4 weapons this afternoon. The shotgun, magnum, m9, and sniper rifle have all have had their recoils reworked. Helmet damage has been changed as well for the AR and AK. The AR will now do 25 damage on a helmet break and the AK will deal 30 damage. Keep your eyes on the @z1battleroyale twitter, we will put out an update when the server is up and ready for you all to hop in. Feedback from the community on this is greatly appreciated.
