Zafehouse Diaries is back! The cult hit from 2012 is now bigger, better and more terrifying than ever. Take control of a group of people - each with their own skills, motivations and prejudices - and try to survive the zombie apocalypse.
Every story is unique: Each game is procedurally generated - will your survivors work well together and complete their objectives?
Ordinary people, extraordinary situations: Keep your survivors happy and motivated, or they'll turn on each other.
All new engine: Zafehouse Diaries has been upgraded in every way. Full widescreen support, high resolution, a 3D environment and multi-platform support.
More of everything: Loads of new items, orders, events, occupations, dilemmas and scenarios.
Increased control: Equip your survivors and determine how they defend and breach locations.
We've also refined the relationship system so you can have more ways to change survivor interactions. We've replaced the rumour system with redemptions - one survivor can do certain tasks to 'redeem' themselves in the eyes of another, which removes a prejudice.
At its core, Zafehouse Diaries 2 is the same strategic drama simulator as the original, but it expands on it in every way: added content, upgraded engine, more surprises, more madness.

Fear Equation is a genre-spanning horror strategy title where no two games are the same. The world is covered in a mysterious fog. Most who enter the fog disappear, and those who survive say it brings their nightmares to life.
You are The Engineer and you're in control of a very special train. Will you rescue survivors and keep them safe from their self-inflicted terrors? More importantly... can you lead them to salvation?
Here's what awaits you in Fear Equation:
Send passengers out into the fog to investigate locations, find survivors and bring back supplies
Manage defenses, power and resources. But be careful: if you aren’t the saviour they need, they’ll revolt against you
Handle disputes between carriage leaders that can end in dramatic events that swing the balance of power between your defenders and detractors
Monitor your passengers’ dreams to discover what kind of horrors will attack the train – and how to defeat them
Create your own Engineer with special modifiers that determine your train’s starting conditions, as well as the course the game will take
Customise the passengers on board your train, importing photos of friends to give your game that personal touch... right before you send them to their demise
Do your best to avoid the military and cult-like "Fearless" as they seek to eliminate anyone caught in the fog
Interact with intricate machines and devices within a richly detailed, fully 3D cabin
So, Engineer... will the fog claim you?

Character generation: Create back stories for your team, mold their relationships and equip them well.
Every game is unique: Dynamically-generated missions and campaigns ensure no two mysteries are the same.

[v1.2.3] Patch notes
We've just released a new patch for Zafehouse: Diaries, bringing the game to v1.2.3. This patch introduces an Item Editor to the Custom Content Manager, so you can craft your own weapons, tools, medicine, food and protection gear and share them with your friends!
We've also tweaked and fixed a few things, all of which you can read about below:
<*> Added: Item Editor. It is now possible to easily add your own items to the game via the Custom Content Manager. The editor allows you to export and import named item "packs" so you can share you creations with other players. Please note that items are complex objects and while we've done our best to catch all the bugs, it should be considered a work-in-progress. This feature is not intended to replace modding, which allows you a greater degree of control over item creation.
<*> Added: Holding the Control key and left-clicking on an item in the Supply tab item list, or an item list on the Movement screen, will move that item to a new category called "Odds and ends". You can use this to filter out items you're no longer interested in and they won't appear under their regular category. You can reverse this change using Control-LMB again on the item.
<*> Tweak: The item lists on the Supply tab and the Movement screen have been modified to separate protection gear and ammunition into their own categories. Also, categories for which no items exist won't appear.
<*> Tweak: Items with stats in excess of five stars will have a plus sign appended to those stats.
<*> Fixed: An issue where melee protection bonuses were not being applied correctly to zombie grab checks.
<*> Fixed: Pain suppression effects, such as those given by painkillers, were sometimes not applied correctly.
<*> Fixed: An issue where the mouse cursor would appear locked in the top-left corner of the screen when using bookmarks.
<*> Fixed: A few diary reporting issues and typos with the new sniping report and lynch mob dilemma.
<*> Fixed: The "Survivors hurt each other" difficulty setting now affects a game in progress.
[v1.2.2] Patch notes
We're pleased to announce the release of patch v1.2.2! This update focuses on adding more content to No Survivors, as well as providing extra options during the mid-to-late game in all three modes. And, if you're up for it, 12 Steam achievements to unlock.
The full changelog can be found below:
Added: Steam achievements. Steam users can now try their hands at completing 12 unique achievements, from successful amputations to defeating the lynch mob.
Added: New dilemma -- Outpost. Players of No Survivors have a new threat to watch out for. A group of ex-military troops may set themselves up inside a location in town, along with a nice cache of weapons and equipment. They're not easy to take on and if you do defeat them, they'll try and track you down... with explosive consequences.
Added: New museum item sets -- Cold War, Middle Kingdom and Viking.
Added: Outdoor traps -- Survivors can now build formidable traps around locations, in addition to regular and experimental indoor traps. Select it as an option from the "Make traps" order.
Added: New task -- Build fortifications. Once you've fortified a location, you'll be able to improve it even further by adding a fence, sniper's nest or watch tower. The fence prevents zombies from attacking the location, leaving your barricades untouched and allows survivors to move out even if surrounded; a sniper's nest boost the accuracy of your snipers and the watch tower allows your spotters to see much, much further.
Added: New occupation -- Mayor. While the mayor's survival skills might not be the greatest, he sure does know how to uncover hard-to-find items inside the locations of his town.
Added: Experimental display scaling has been reactivated. It's also been tweaked to preserve desktop icon positions when the game is exited.
Added: The game now provides a one-time warning when the system resolution is too low.
Added: New photo frame and overlay graphic for bombed locations.
Tweak: Snipers shooting into other locations will now keep count of, and report, the number of zombies that have ever been sniped at and killed at each location.
Balance: Protection gear is now moderately more effective.
Balance: Weapons that use rifle (.223R) ammunition are now more effective against the living. This includes player-controlled survivors.
Balance: The semi-automatic and automatic rifles are now more effective at assaulting and close combat, and slighty worse for sniping.
Balance: The sub-machinegun is now slightly less accurate and hits less targets.
Balance: The difficulty of building traps has been reduced.
Balance: Survivor vs NPC combat is now much more consistent in terms of difficulty. The accuracy of predicted results is also higher.
Fixed: Survivors who automatically take painkillers for their injuries will now have their contusions marked as treated.
Fixed: NPC damage no longer triggers a blood splat effect in the diary.
Fixed: A crash in the barricade maintenance idle task.
Fixed: A rare crash when modifying items.
Fixed: A crash when placing wandering survivors in No Survivors.
Fixed: Additional checks for a crash related to museum item discovery.
Fixed: An issue with the modify task and showers.
Modding: Mod files can now be placed in "My Documents\Zafehouse Diaries\Mods\" directory, in addition to the game's install path.
[v1.2.1] Patch notes
Zafehouse: Diaries has been updated to v1.2.1! While balance tweaks and bug fixes feature prominently in this patch, we couldn't help but add some great new content and provide you with tools to alter the difficulty of all scenarios to your liking.
Here's a complete list of changes:
Added: New location -- Museum. What exotic and potent relics of old await the survivors in this fascinating destination?
Added: New dilemma -- Surveillance. Are your survivors skilled enough to breach the police station and tackle this challenge? The reward could give you all the intel you need to stay alive.
Added: New items -- You'll have to visit the Museum to find out what they are!
Added: New event -- Epiphany. Spend some time in the church and one of your survivors might leave their past grudges behind them.
Added: Completely new options menu with difficulty controls. It is now possible to alter various gameplay settings via the options menu, including the rate at which zombies enter the town, the starting number of zombies in locations, resource distribution and survivor in-fighting.
Added: Locations can now be marked with a cross by right-clicking on them and selecting the appropriate option from the drop-down menu.
Added: DXT5 texture compression for dynamic assets (photos and notes) can now be enabled via the Diagnostics Tool. This is recommended only for system with extremely limited video memory, as it will make the game take longer to load.
Added: If the game fails to start correctly, the next time it is run the player will be given the option to delete all configuration and user content, which may help the game load properly.
Balance: The player will now receive a handgun and 9mm ammunition at the start of No Survivors.
Balance: The Overwhelmed dilemma is now more likely to occur.
Balance: By default, survivors no longer hurt each other due to bad relationships in No Survivors.
Balance: Survivors will now take their equipment with them if the "Retreat" option is selected during the Overwhelmed dilemma.
Balance: When retreating, survivors are more likely to pick a safe location, even if it's further away.
Balance: Zombies are more likely to wander out of locations during assaults.
Fixed: The audio engine should now start correctly on systems running Sound Blaster Audigy hardware.
Fixed: If sounds have been disabled, the heartbeat effect will now fade correctly after a dilemma is resolved.
Fixed: The orders table in the Custom Content Manager has been adjusted to remove the horizontal scroll bar.
Fixed: Duplicate survivors should no longer attempt to join the group in No Survivors.
Fixed: Showers will no longer be broken down for barricades.
Fixed: The experimental display scaling option has been removed as it was causing the game to crash on some systems.
Fixed: Discovering the vehicle for the first time in Road Kill should no longer cause a crash.
Fixed: A crash that could occur when attempting to amputate a limb during the Infected dilemma.
Fixed: The version text on the main menu now appears correctly on system with high DPI settings.
Fixed: The address text on location photos in the diary is now preserved when saving and loading.
Fixed: Added additional checks to prevent crashes related to survivor movement, survivor reanimation and zombie attacks.
Fixed: Significantly improved video memory consumption over the course of a game. This should alleviate out-of-memory issues with long games on systems with less capable GPUs.
Fixed: An issue where after loading a saved game, new diary entries would appear in the wrong order.
