In this update, several small fixes and balances have been made to Zaxterion: Space Frenzy!
- Fixed an issue that could cause you to spend the gold required to open a loot chest that was fading out, but the chest wouldn't deliver the loot before it faded out.
- Fixed an issue that could cause the Transmulgifier to be offered by the Big Brother ship after you already own it.
- Fixed an issue that could cause no Zaxterion gems to be offered on rare occasion after purchasing them with rhodium from the Big Brother ship.
- Nerfed the firing speed of the Valorox ship from 5 shots per second to 3.75 shots per second.
- Nerfed the armor strength of the "Protect Me Daddy!" shielding available from the Big Brother ship by about 30%. These shields made a ship just take too little damage once 5 or 6 shields were collected.
- Fixed an issue that could cause the transmulgifier icon to show on the Big Daddy offer display even after the transmulgifier had been purchased and another offer was displayed.
- Increased the size and brightness of every ships shots to make them more visible against the trail each shot leaves as it travels.
- Fixed an issue that could cause the Halcyon ship to flash when damage was taken rather than displaying the correct damaged state.

UPDATE 0.84 - Starting Ship "The Reliant" Overall Speed Reduced By 25% + More!
This update was made entirely to help new players understand the game and have more control of the starting "Reliant" space ship....
- The lowest speed, the default speed, and the maximum speeds have all been reduced by just about 25% overall on the Reliant starting space ship.
- When the game starts with the introduction, a game screen is now shown to give the player important information such as what the gold, rhodium, and Zaxterion resources are, and how they are obtained. It also shows the Mother Ship and the Big Brother ship and what they sell in exchange for gold and for rhodium respectively.
- The intro screen cannot be skipped the very first time but afterwards, the same saves a variable in the settings so the introduction can be easily skipped whenever the game is launched in the future.

Okay everyone, after launching this game at what I felt a more than fair $8.99 USD price point and then cutting it back 45% to just $4.99 USD a week later, I have now decided to go with a price right in the middle at $6.99 USD.. which matches my other top indie games prices as well with The Best BJ, Vektor Z, and Rock 'N Roll.
So just an FYI. If you're reading this and wanting to purchase this game and the price is still just $4.99, you might want to pick it up before the $6.99 price tag gets approved by Steam very soon...

UPDATE 0.83 - Up to 504 Steam High Scores Now Available Within the Game
Just a small update that changes the total number of Steam High Scores that can be seen within the game to 504 which is 42 pages of 12 high scores on each page.

MASSIVE 45% PRICE DROP! - FREE Demo also is now available!
Okay, so it's overly obvious that Zaxterion: Space Frenzy! is getting a LOT of attention it's first week on Steam. It's had over 200,000 impressions its first week on Steam with an impressive 8.2% click through rate. The first 48 hours the demo has been made available, over 2,000 people have added the demo to their library and/or played it!
To help my 10th Steam game sell better to those interested, I've decided to drop the price by a whopping 45% down to just $4.99 USD. Please understand that this price drop is not because I don't believe my game is worth the launch $8.99 price point, but its more to keep this game competitively priced against all similar games to it.
The demo has now been available since the evening of September 14th and seems to be well received so far. Be sure you give it a try and see if you don't also agree that this game is well worth the asking price. You can't even buy a kids meal at McDonalds or a cup of coffee at most coffee drive through locations across America at this very competitive price point!

UPDATE 0.82 - Full Controller Support And Rebindable Keyboard Keys Added!
This update added a new "options" screen where you can now see and adjust your game volume, your controller dead zone setting, and even rebind the WASD keys and the default space bar for placing dynamite to whatever keys you desire! (The keys you change to must be either a number or an alphabet character. Whenever you change your key binds to, the game automatically immediately saves them so you'll never have to change them again, unless you want to change them again! There is also a "default settings" button for the key binds to just set them back to WASD and the Space Bar if you ever want to.
The also now constantly detects if you're using a keyboard and mouse to play or if you're using a gamepad controller. If you're using a controller, all functions before and after a game have the controller buttons associated with them clearly defined and easy to see.
More changes are coming including lots more Steam achievements and all new enemies such as the eye and the ice man.

UPDATE 0.81 - 36 New Steam Achievements Plus More Small Additions and Fixes
In this update, just two days after I launched this game, I've created and added 36 new Steam achievements, bringing the total achievements to 58.
The starter ship (The Reliant), The soon-coming Golden Poggers DLC ship, and the Halcyon ship all have 12 new achievements that are obtained by both surviving and scoring in your games. All of the other seven ships will soon get the same 12 Steam achievements each, but 120 Steam achievements all at once would have been a big task. This update at least gets you started on the starter ship and the next two ships that make sense as far as game progression goes.
Here's some other things added to the game since launch in this update:

* Added a new healing effect and sound when you move upwards through your mothership to buy a heal
* Added a red exclamation point that pops up over you when you get webbed by the spider
* Added a new sound effect when a spider shoots you with a web attack projectile
* Added new shine effects to show power-ups that drop from opening a golden chest
* Added new shine effects to show a ship you have not yet purchased before you start a game
* Added new effects to help show you when you purchase a power-up time upgrade, a "Ammo Kablamo" upgrade, or a "Hurt Me Less Daddy" upgrade from the Big Brother ship
* Changed the golden chest spawn points to the upper left or upper right sides of the screen to help avoid power-up loot items from being confused with mother-ship offerings
* Added Triple uploads at different times over a few seconds when uploading your score to Steam for posting your high scores. This should ensure that your high score will always post to Steam assuming that Steam is not down at that moment and that you have good working internet

Zaxterion: Space Frenzy! .. Has Launched! - "The Eye" Is Coming Soon!!
Hello everyone!
I am proud to announce that my latest arcade action retro game has now launched. This is a title I am very proud of and one that I started work on back in April of 2021. It got put on the back burner sometime in the early summer of that same year and I started working on it again around May of this year. I've put a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into this game over this last several months, but I believe the result has been well worth it!
I want everyone to know that just as with all my Steam games, this one is far from being "complete" in my view, but after a couple of delays, I knew it was time to just launch it already. There are lots of ideas I still have to make the game deeper and add even more value to this already addicting and fun game!
One of those ideas is coming to life and should be added soon with a new foe to face, and I simply call it "The Eye". The eyes will be a very formidable foe indeed, especially when you have many eyes on you at once with all the chaos that is already going on! I'll save all the details of this new creature for you to experience first hand in the game because I don't want to spoil your fun, but trust me you'll want to keep an "eye" out on this one!
I decided to not launch this game as version 1.0 because in my mind, it still has so much I think I can add to enrich it even more. Do note that this game is way more complete right now than most 'early access' titles here on Steam, but I just want this game to be the best that it can be.
I've been so hard at work the last month in particular that lots of stuff like Achievements and Controller Support were just added just hours before I launched this game! So with that, please understand that many more Steam achievements will be added over the coming weeks, including some really interesting ones like an achievement for rebounding from 1 hp to 100 hp. The information that currently pops up on the left side of the screen about your game pad controls will be changed to make everything much more seamless and fluid. ..What I'm saying is that this game is only going to get better in the coming weeks!
