An update on the game, two weeks in, everything is going well! First mission is being made which is also a tutorial to help you know and understand how to play the game.

Zero Gravity: It's Being Recreated!

Hi all,

My name is Dimitri, I just wanted to say that when Zero Gravity was released in 2016, it was at a state where I had no funding, less experience, etc. Overall, the project solely was a 'University' project and from my perspective, I personally feel it didn't go well, but it was a good starting point.

I apologise to all customers and friends that have not enjoyed the game with its serious lack of content, the main purpose was to publish it 'Early Access' with little content, but at least displaying each gamemode, and with funding, the whole game would be polished up. That never happened.

So, I am now announcing that Zero Gravity is being recreated completly to a whole new game idea. From the old game as a 'Puzzle Arcade Platformer' to a 'Dark Atmospheric Horror Story' game that feels like 'Silent Hill in-space'.

Yes, I love Horrors, I also love Science Fiction, that combined I feel can be a potential great project.

I created Zero Gravity by myself, I am now recreating Zero Gravity with a team over 5 who are all professionals in games development. We will be working hard to create an awesome game for you. So you're all probably wondering what's happening to the old Zero Gravity? It will be put into a branch as 'oldgame' and the new Zero Gravity when it has sufficient enough content will be replaced into the 'public stable' branch.

All images, trailers, will be reworked into the new project. Farewell old Zero Gravity, it's been good, or should I say? Bad.. Haha. Now here is some content so far of what's been happening.

The game has only been under development for under a week, the core mechanics, visuals and narrative are still being designed and developed.

Development Update: #09 Multiplayer Hub & Coop Stress Tests

This update for Zero Gravity now has the hub included where you and your friends can transition from the hub to the levels and back.

Current bugs: Joining someones server after they return to the hub will cause the client to not be able to join.
Pressing ESC will force the game to close (Currently no menu for MP)
Pressing R will restart you back to hub and cause issues(Best alternative for now is to re-launch the game from Steam)
Internet is unstable and may not work for you.

Development Update: #08 - 4 Player Co-op and Improvements





Zero Gravity has had some massive improvements since the last update.



Version 0.23 update log:

Singleplayer:



The Platformer Gamemode has been improved with;
Improved Player Controller
New and improved animations
Better physics interpolation to remove camera clipping through level/boxes
Player can now see his feet to know better where he will land
Holding W, S, A or D in to a wall or cube no longer sticks you to it, instead now whilst holding a key towards a wall, you can also use your jetpack rather than being stuck and not moving at all

Tutorials now tell you 'Controls Tutorial Complete' instead of 'Tutorial Complete' as this had several players confused.

Escape Menu is now massively improved with;
Sound now pauses when pressing ESC
You can no longer look around when paused in the Puzzle and Platformer gamemodes
You can now change the master volume of the current level

Multiplayer:



The Platformer Gamemode has been improved with;
Improved Player Controller
New and improved animations, as well as animations now work remotely.
Physics interpolation changes
Player can see his feet

What's next?

Currently, all singleplayer levels are being refined up, more puzzle levels are being created and Multiplayer is being improved constantly with stress test.

it is now confirmed, Zero Gravity WILL have 4 player cooperative. Players may also go ahead and further stress it to more than 4 players. More than 4 players has not yet been tested.



Right now, all 10 platformer levels in singleplayer are being reworked for Multiplayer. At the moment, you can only play Level 7 of the platformer in multiplayer as this has been used for stress tests.

After all 10 platformer levels are done and ready, the Puzzle levels will be next for multiplayer and I can say I am very very excited to making the Puzzle gamemode multiplayer.

There is also a network being created to allow people to connect to eachother by IP so that Hamachi or Tunngle will not have to be used.

Development Update: #07 - Basic Cooperative Play

Zero Gravity now has a basic cooperative system which is very unfinished and is now playable as 'Unstable 0.13'.

You can play this by going to your Steam Library > Zero Gravity > Properties > Betas > Multiplayer and let the game update to that and you will be put on to a Platformer scene where you will have Host Game and Join Game.

You will need a program such as LogMeIn Hamachi or Tunngle to connect to your friends by internet. If you are playing with family, you should be fine to play via localhost.

The animations currently are local and not remote so the online player you see, his/her animations will not be working yet.

The Steam name is also at the incorrect player's head, this will be fixed in the next multiplayer build.

Stress tests are being performed constantly to improve the quality of the multiplayer.

Development Update: #06

Zero Gravity now has it's release date of 29th August and will currently only have Single-Player. It is expected that a basic Co-op system will be implemented for version 0.2 or later.

Version 0.2 should also contains Steam Achivements that should allow the game to have a better experience.

You will be able to purchase the game on the midnight launch;

Please remember to submit bugs and issues you encounter to make this game become more polished and stable for later releases.

1 bug consists of;

Steam Overlay doesn't work properly in parts of the game.

Development Update: #05

Today marks that Zero Gravity has been in development for 1 year. As for this, the first public alpha build will be released this month, if not, it will be extended to September and released sometime in early September.

The build willl currently NOT have multiplayer yet and hopefully will be included in a future alpha build.

This month, many bugs have been fixed, mechanics reimplemented to be more professional and more levels to be made.

Development Update: #03

Hello,

This development update introduces the very early stages of how combat & stealth will be used in Zero Gravity. In this game-mode you will use stealth and/or combat only to try and pass through the levels undetected. You will only be equipped with a silenced pistol and a zero gravity suit that can be used to shoot from advantage points, etc.
