We had a great response when we made the Season Pass free for 12 hours a couple weeks ago, and we decided we wanted everyone to have this experience and be able to get all the items in Season 0 as they level up their characters.
We also want to thank the community for all of the support as we’ve navigated our first month of Steam Early Access and made many improvements to the game. All of the updates and tuning are a result of everyone really supporting the game and encouraging the team. We are very grateful to have such awesome players.
And if you already bought a season pass, thank you for your support! You'll find some Favor on your account that you can use in the shop.

Hello All,
This week’s patch includes many changes and updates.
World Update - Halloween!!
Halloween is almost here and the Isle of Thera is ready! The map features new lighting, art and an environment theme to get ready for the holiday. Jump in today and play in the mode for a limited time.

[H1]Leaderboard
The leaderboard was fixed and updated last week. As we had said previously, we are running a short monthly leader contest that will run until the remainder of the month. We wanted to honor the player who has led the boards for most of early access, inflameZ, until the contest ends at the end of the month. You will be able to find statues honoring inflameZ's achievement throughout the world. Upon conclusion of each month, the leading player will have their statue patched into the game soon after the month ends.
[H1]Spectating
We have added the ability for players to spectate other players upon death. In single-player mode, you will be able to cycle among the remaining players to view their gameplay. In duo and team modes you will be able to spectate your team while players on your team remain. When all players are eliminated, you may spectate the remaining players.
• Enabled Spectate in all gameplay modes.
• Players may hit Next to cycle to next player.
• When players want to exit, they may click the Back button and this will take them back to their finish screen to exit the match.
[H1]Gameplay
• Fixed several localization issues. Players should now see text that is appropriate for their selected language.
• An option to always run has been added to the options menu for players
• Fixed several impact sound issues with thrown weapons and arrows
• Reduced the amount of time between several of the middle circles reducing match time by approximately 3 minutes.
• Added a 1-second cooldown to speed potions to prevent players from accidentally using more than one at a time
• Fixed issues where clothing would not equip when changing your appearance
• Fixed issue with debuffs and buffs not displaying when mounted.
• Reduced the damage of fire arrows from 120% weapon damage to 100%
[H1]UI & Store
• Simplified store layout for ease of navigation.
• New items have been added to the store.
• Item purchase flow has been simplified.

Halloween Screenshot Contest

Things are getting spooky on the Isle of Thera… This Halloween themed screenshot contest is a chance for you to showcase your creativity AND win some awesome prizes. Be as creative as you like and showcase your spooky side in Zeus’ Battlegrounds. Show us your best bone-chilling, hair-raising, and eerie screenshots this Halloween season!
The Halloween Screenshot Contest ends October 31st, 2018 at 11:59 PM PDT.
Prizes:
First place – 2,000 favor
Second place – 1,000 favor
Third place – 750 favor
Rules and Screenshot requirements:
- At least 1280 x 720 resolution, no larger than 1920x1080
- No player names visible (press F8 to disable your HUD)
- Screenshots must be yours. Any plagiarized content will be disqualified
- One entry per person. You may edit your submission any time before October 31st 2018 at 11:59 PM PDT. Revise your submission by editing the original post.
- No photoshop, editing, or filters are allowed. You may post an edited version along with the original. Only the original will be judged in the contest.
How to participate:
- Capture your screenshot in-game using any image capturing software.
- Post your screenshot as a reply to the "Halloween Screenshot Contest Entries" thread in our forums. Include your in-game username in the post.
Tips and tricks:
- Hold ALT to move the camera around your character in-game.
- There are several spooky places to check out around the Isle of Thera.
- Press F8 to hide your HUD. This can easily be turned back on by pressing F8 again.
- Try to play with your quality settings as high as possible.
- Cosmetics are not required for this contest.
Submissions close October 31st, 2018, at 11:59 PM PDT. Screenshots submitted after this time will not be considered.
Our team will select the 3 winning screenshots. These winners will be announced on our Dev Q&A Stream on November 2nd, 2018 at 12 PM PDT and will be contacted via PM on our forums.
Leaderboard Update
We have been working to implement our final system which will reset the leaderboards at the beginning of each month. Unfortunately, applying these changes to the leaderboards corrupted the leaderboard data.
There is no way to restore the previous leaderboard. We understand what went wrong and have corrected it. We had intended to reset the leaderboard November 1, 2018, GMT 0. Because of the error, and to incentivize players who had been playing for a top position, we are going to reset the leaderboard completely today at 8 pm PST. We will run the monthly ranking until the end of October. After October is over the top players, from today until November 1, will receive their item. We had always intended a special honor for the #1 player in the game from month to month. The top player will have a statue of their character placed in the world commemorating their achievement. After this, all season resets should occur on the 1st day of each month at GMT 0.
We do apologize for the frustration many of you have voiced regarding this. We hope that leveling the playing field and offering the incentive will help to make things right. We appreciate your support and patience as we navigate Early Access.

We’re excited to bring you the next round of updates based upon your feedback. As a reminder, we will be offering a free Season Pass today to the first 25,000 players starting at 8 AM PDT. We continue to focus one game performance and combat based upon your feedback. We have several awesome Halloween items coming in next weeks patch!
[H1]Languages
• Localization support for Chinese, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese and Russian
[H1]Gameplay
• Corrected the behavior of blocking with shields. Shields should now correctly block a portion of damage based upon the block value of the shield.
• Player starting clothing now has a base armor amount added to it for initial increased survivability. All player starting items reduce a portion of damage but should be upgraded by looting armor upon landing on the Island.
• We identified and fixed several bugs regarding how hits were calculated. A weapon's ability to hit should feel more consistent to players. Weapon types (axe, sword, 1 hand/2hand) should feel more standardized by class.
• One handed weapons have had their hit range extended slightly to accommodate movement speed of combat.
• Polearm (Spear) had a larger refactor due to inadequate hitbox detection. The hit box now more closely approximates the animation visible to the player.
• Refactored collision on several world assets including the Arena. Players should find that collision of the bezels and other modified geometry now more closely approximates what they see.
• Fixed several LOD’s for improved performance.
• Dual Wield speed bonus increased to 25%
• Dual Wield damage bonus increased to 15%
• Optimized weapon assets
[H1]UI
• Updated Store layout
• Fixed UI bug that makes it appear as though items have been duplicated when inventory is full
• Support and currency conversion for 40 different currency types
• Text on several items simplified
• Season Passes display a season number when in inventory
