My good friend Buddy, our marketing lead, will be streaming Zoeti on Thursday at 9am (an early day for him) to celebrate the launch! He’s going to try to beat Story Mode without losing a run so I think now’s a good time to redeem that “Buddy Must Die” reward!

Alves Adventurer Spotlight
It’s time to go into a deeper dive on the second playable character, Alves! An elusive trickster, Alves knows how to hamstring her enemies' quickest attacks, evade their most devastating blows, and make them bleed for every swing they take. Play Alves if you like outsmarting opponents with clever ploys and deadly combos.

Map Pathing Dev Log
I’m excited to finally talk about Zoeti and some of the strategies that go into each run! In this dev log, I’m going to break down the choices that go into your decisions on the map. In the future, I’ll talk about each turn, the different character playstyles, and more.
Choosing the best path will be a foundational skill for each run you begin. One wrong move on the map can lead to the run ending or receiving tons of preventable damage. Each path will have its own layout and rewards for completing them and those rewards can be sand dollars that you use in shops, accessory items to help in battle, skills to refine your build, items which can swing a battle, and soulstone fragments which help you upgrade your abilities. Understanding which each path brings will help evaluate the risks and rewards of each path.
Each node in the path contains a different interaction that triggers when you arrive there the lines connecting the nodes show where you can travel next. At the end of the path, there will be a special encounter such as an elite battle or boss that you must face in order to continue on.
Type of Spaces
Enemy
The enemy will be the most common node on the path. Here you can expect a battle with various enemies. For beating the enemies, you can gain sand coins for shops, soulstone fragments to upgrade your character, and a skill to add to your deck.
Shop
At shop nodes, you can use your sand coins to buy accessories and items. Accessories are passive buffs that affect battle and items help turn the tide of battle when you activate them.
Campfire
Campfire nodes allow you to heal and mediate. You can rest, healing 25% of your hp and meditate, upgrading your skills or abilities using soulstone fragments. These are most common right before the end of the path.
Idol
When you go to an idol node, you will discover an idol to one of the game’s four gods that will give you up to four different options. Early in the game, you’ll be presented with two choices: One free, one costing a small amount for a small boon. But as you progress deeper, idols will progressively offer you more and more powerful accessories and items for higher and higher costs.. Different idols will have different rewards and costs, depending on which of the four gods you’re asking for favor. Keep an eye out for another devlog in the not-too-distant future showing off the four gods and what powerful items they have on offer!.
Boss
You have made it! You hit the final node at the end of the path where you will have your toughest fight! Will it be a boss monster demanding all your skill, power and cunning? Will it be an elite battle, pitting you against a collection of the strongest fiends on the field? Will it be an event battle, where you fight against waves of enemies without the opportunity to rest? Will you need to defend on the altars of the gods from assailing monsters, teaming up with other star envoys to do so? Depends on your map and its pathing!
That is everything in the map! Remember to choose your path carefully and plan ahead in your route. That can be the difference between a successful run and a failed one. Valentina Adventurer Spotlight
With the release of Zoeti coming very soon on April 20th, I want to take the time to focus on the playable characters. Today we focus on the first playable character you will play as, Valentina, who focuses on increasing her strength to deal massive damage and increasing her armor to limit the damage she take!

Play the Zoeti Demo before September 2nd!
Thanks to our featuring in the Night Market Festival, we set the Zoeti demo live for all of you to test out some runs of Zoeti's roguelike progression. Today, I wanted to give you a heads up that the demo is coming down in two weeks' time on Friday, September 2nd! If you happen to miss the demo window and want a little more time with the game, don't panic. We're going to be setting it live again (with a bunch of juicy updates, no less) in the future.
Until then, you can feel free to no-life the demo for as long as you want! Play through a short run of battles and one boss, collecting abilities, accessories and items along the way, if you want to take a minute to see what Zoeti is all about! While runs in the base game will be longer, with more battles and bosses to overcome, this is the best way we could put something polished into your hands now.

In case you didn't catch the 2022 Guerilla Collective event, I wanted to share the Zoeti Gameplay reveal with all of you!
Zoeti combines the card-based gameplay of drawing from a deck and playing cards with the probabilities of poker hands like two-pair, straight flush and full house. If that sounds a little complicated and tough to parse, don't worry! I'm happy to help get you up to speed!
There's plenty more on the way from us when it comes to Zoeti reveals, so I hope you're excited to see more!

Akupara Games Will Publish Zoeti in 2023!
I’m Buddy, the Community Manager for Akupara Games! I wanted to take a second to introduce myself since Akupara is partnering with Dusklight Games for the upcoming release of card-based roguelike, Zoeti.
Today, Zoeti will be a part of the Hamburg Game Conference, complete with a digital booth and a little sneak peak into what the game is like. Also, we’re announcing that the game will no longer be entering Early Access; instead, it will see a full launch for all players in 2023.
I’m going to be spending a ton of time in the Steam Discussion threads for Zoeti, so if you have any questions or comments, feel free to ask away over there. I’ll also be hanging out in the Akupara Games Discord answering questions about the game, explaining mechanics, and everything in between. And I’ll be making a ton of video content for Zoeti once we get closer to launch, so keep an eye out for that on our official YouTube channel.
Anyway, that’s about it from me! I can’t wait to show you all the cool Zoeti news we have brewing over the next few months! It’s gonna be a blast.
