On this occasion, we went to the mini zoo to see how real animals react to the news of the upcoming launch of ZooKeeper.
Raccoons already seem bored with waiting. Fun Fact: Raccoons are omnivores and opportunistic eaters, which means they feed on whatever is most convenient. They are also adept scavengers. They rummage through garbage cans and compost piles and steal pet food that is left outside overnight.
The camel is taking it easy. Fun Fact: A camel can last about 2 weeks without drinking, and a thirsty adult camel can drink up to 120 liters of water at a time.
What animals will you find in ZooKeeper? Here you can see just a few of them. There is plenty more of them in the game, but we don't want to spoil everything for you.

No matter how much we love animals and want to provide them with every comfort. In order to stock the zoo brilliantly with great food or attractions for the animals, funds are needed. The funds will be provided by tourists. A satisfied tourist means better care and comfort for the animals. Take care of the visitors and your Zoo will be unique.
Tickets and expectations
No ticket = no fun. Buy or bye. Every tourist visiting our zoo starts their adventure by buying a ticket. The price of the ticket depends on the current level of development of the zoo. To increase the level of development of the zoo, click on its gate and then use the panel that appears on the screen. “Blessed is he who expects nothing, for he shall never be disappointed.” Every Zookeeper's problem is that tourists expect a lot. We need to meet and even exceed their expectations. Every tourist in our game has specific expectations of what they would like to see in the zoo, so it is important to take care of the diversity of species. This will allow you to meet all the expectations of visitors which brings us extra rewards.
VIP Tourist and happenings
Every day there is a chance that a special quest will visit our zoo. The VIPs require more attention to fulfill their wishes, but they are quite wealthy, so we want them to be as happy as possible with their visit, which will lead to faster development of the zoo. To properly prepare for a VIP visit, it would be best to have a least two different species of animals in the habitats and some infrastructure. While playing from time to time a special quest will appear. You will need to gather a few tourists and employees in one place for a special lecture. It can be done by using drag and drop. After setting them up in the highlighted place and when the time is up, the quest will start, completing itself after a few hours.
Star System and prestige
There are 3 star quests in each zoo. Completing them is rewarded with stars. A certain number of stars unlocks sculpture decorations, which provide permanent prestige bonuses and can be purchased almost for free. The prestige grows with each fulfilled tourist's wish (by 1) and decreases with each unsuccessful one (by 2). The prestige level affects the number of tourists in the zoo and allows you to raise the level of the zoo center, which unlocks more expensive tickets and additional items for purchase. There is a prestige cap for each level of the zoo center. Once you reach it you can buy the next level and earn more prestige points. The prestige adds a little challenge to the game. The more prestige you have, the more tourists will visit your zoo.
Sculptures
In ZooKeeper, there are some hidden prizes (sculptures of the most valuable species) that you can obtain by collecting stars. Each purchased sculpture permanently raises the reputation level by 1 point. However, remember that in one zoo you can have only one sculpture of a given type.

If animals are the heart of the zoo, the personnel must be its soul. If you're determined to have a flourishing zoo, it's worth taking a moment to familiarize yourself with the possibilities ZooKeeper provides.
Personnel management
"Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much." The better staff you hire in ZooKeeper the easier the zoo management is going to be. Employees can largely deal with the zoo on their own, but you can manage their activities by giving them personal instructions. It's easier than you think. Just right-click on the task objective and then select a command from the list.
Levels
No one is the same, everyone is unique in their own way. Nor is everyone perfect. Every employee has their own levels, which increase when doing any activity. In the left bottom corner of the employee icon, you'll find its current level. Clicking the employee icon will result in opening skill points distributing window. It is used to learn skills, which increase the productivity of that specific worker in many different ways. The higher the price of the employee, the more skills he has available to learn.
Fees
If you are good at something, don't do it for free - that's a golden rule of most businesses. It is no different here. In ZooKeeper you will have a panel where you will hire, fire, and manage your employees. To open the panel just click the suitcase icon. There you can view all the information about the staff and hire them. In the case of employees, you should always pay attention to the number of paid days. If it is approaching 0, you should pay for the next with the pay button. The bonus button allows you to instantly store up energy.
Energy
We know that energy costs are quite high these days, but we want to familiarize you with a different kind of energy - staff's energy. Every employee has an energy bar that shows their willingness to perform specific tasks. Let's take for instance the red color. It suggests that employee needs to rest. If this condition continues for a long time, they may leave their jobs or be even attacked by aggressive animals. In order to increase the energy of your staff, you can send them to the employee yard for a break. On top of that, you can pay them bonuses that will definitely cheer them up.
Now you know a bit more about people working in the zoo. Think about how to get the most out of your employees so that they are not overworked, gushing with energy that will result in more happy visitors to your zoo.?

Animals of ZooKeeper
Dear ZooKeepers!
Why do we go to the zoo? To watch animals that we can't see anywhere else. The same applies to our ZooKeeper's wild animals It will be hard to take your eyes off our cuties. Let's begin!
Buying animals
Remember, the most important feature of any zoo is the amazing species you can see there. You just need to press the button with the animal icon, and there you go. You have bought a new animal. Which is your favorite one?
Statistics
Animals need care, you have to make sure that they are well-fed, entertained, clean, and healthy. Track their current statistics by just hovering the cursor over the animal.
Aggression
Animals are wonderful, they can love, and certainly, make you smile. However, you shouldn't forget those wild instincts can be reawakened even in tamed animals, especially when they are hungry or nervous. Hungry dinosaur with a sheep in one habitat? That's probably not the best idea.
Vet
If for some reason we fail to keep an eye on all those in our care and one of the animals drops on the ground unconscious, your employees can call a vat helicopter. You should remember that in such a situation every second counts. Animals after being picked up by helicopter will have to stay with the vet for a while to get back on their feet. You can always check the progress of their treatment in the vet's panel.
Naming
Animals can have names as well as the habitats they are staying in. Every creature is important. Make those animals unique and memorable. Just to let you know, if you click on the icon of an animal, it moves the camera over it and selects it.
Storage Room
During some renovation works, animals are not allowed to stay in their habitats. In such situations, they are sent to the storage room. When the renovation is finished remember to drag them back from the storage panel to their habitats.
Favourable Climate Conditions
Exotic animals come from different climates. Penguins like it when it's cold whereas giraffes prefer higher temperatures. You need to ensure a suitable climate in the habitats to provide them with good living conditions (and a lower rate of decline in statistics). Placing particular decorations in the habitats and painting the terrain will do the trick.

Building your Zoo!

Do you love visiting the zoo and watching wild animals? Now you get the opportunity to create the zoo of your dreams. Zookeeper gives you a lot of possibilities in the most pleasant form possible.
The release is coming soon so it would be wise to familiarise yourself with key features offered in Zookeeper! Sit back, watch and learn!
Habitats
Without habitats the are no animals, and without animals, there is no zoo. Remember to adjust the size of the habitat to the number, size, and needs of the animals living in it, also taking into account your financial possibilities. Habitats cost more the more area they cover. You can drag a fence to modify the cost. Don't forget about a staff entrance. Make your animals feel at home.
Paths
Direct and guide your visitors. The paths are some of the most important things in the zoo. By walking the path, tourists can admire the animals and have fun with the attractions. Wake up your inner architect.
Creative Mode
The best part about being an unsupervised builder is the endless possibilities. Do you feel like creating the most bizarre homesteads? No one will limit you. Invent and create, use unlimited possibilities that the game gives you. All operations related to changing the structure of the zoo take place in creative mode. All Shapes, colors, and sizes are at your disposal. Let your imagination run wild!
Painting the grounds
It's time to add some colors to your animals' life. You can paint the area. By doing this, you control the climate in the habitat, which has an impact on animal well-being. Remember to adjust the climate to the appropriate animal species as it has a very strong influence on the animals. A penguin in the desert is rather a bad idea.
Decorations
Decorate zoo helps your animals feel at ease. It is worth the effort so that later you can boast to your friends about the dream place for your animals. The decorations are divided into four categories: plants, trees, rocks, and others. It's good to read a little bit about each decoration to know how it affects the climate.
Buildings
One of the main tasks in the game is building. The buildings provide additional entertainment for tourists visiting the zoo. It is very important to provide tourists with access to a new attraction, so always make sure that the building is connected to a path.
Bulldozer
Bulldozer is a tool that allows you to remove any item you have built. To create something, you first have to demolish something. The best way to do this would be to use, a bulldozer. You can tear down everything you had built. Note that destroying objects only returns fractions of the money spent. Don't be afraid to use it, as you can always undo changes.
Grid
When you turn on the grid, it appears on the ground and it makes it easier to both position and rotates the elements to be aligned with each other.

Create and choose new equipment for individual biomes. Look after various modern animals and bring back to life long-extinct reptile species to place them in your zoo. Take the uniqueness of your zoo to another level. Nobody will ever forget a zoo where they can see prehistoric animal species, and you can become the first to provide visitors with such an amazing opportunity.
Remember to keep your animals in good health it's very important and the success of your zoo depends on it. Don’t forget that each animal requires regular feeding and cleaning up of the enclosure, and if it becomes ill, you should treat it. As a leader, you must be aware that your employees are not only a great help for you, but also a great responsibility. You will have to learn to manage your team in all situations and remember to pay their salary on time!

Steam SimFest Hobby Edition 2022 has started! For the next few days we’re celebrating simulation games – especially the ones that allow us to try new things and professions we wouldn’t dream of picking up otherwise.
