MAINTENANCE UPDATES:
Some Co-Op games were not being listed correctly making it harder to find a team member - games should now show up.
Selecting a random AI faction in an online game always resulted in the Renegades faction being selected. Now, any of the 6 factions from all titles will be selected for the AI (even if you only have one of the games)
BIG PLANS FOR FEBRUARY!
Hi everyone!
We have so much going on for this month that the team decided to tell you in advance all that we have planned. Check out all this cool stuff...
REPLAYS AND OBSERVER MODE ARE COMING
Since the release of 8-Bit Invaders, we have been working toward improving our 8-Bit series with new features you have been asking for. Game Replays and Observer Mode have been on the backburner for some time now as we tried to find time to break away from creating more content to make Multiplayer even better. Now, we’re happy to say that both of these new features are being released soon in the month of February!
Observer Mode will let you view games in progress as well as follow along with games as they begin. All PvP games played online through our servers will have a replay generated so you can go back and watch the game you just played, or see how the top players were able to strike that crushing blow. You’ll need the client to watch a Replay, but Observer mode is perfect for streaming Live if you’re looking to broadcast or narrate a game.
NOW EVERYONE CAN CONQUER THE METAVERSE
We will be updating both 8-Bit Armies and 8-Bit Hordes to support our Metaverse Campaign, so you can fight against the AI at both the galactic and the tactical levels. As with our other feature updates, this is a completely free upgrade for all our current and future owners of the game. We’ll be patching this into both games in February.
8-BIT ARMIES: ARENA SPIN-OFF TITLE TO REACH MORE ONLINE PLAYERS
As you may already know, we’re launching a Multiplayer-Only title based on the series which contains all six factions in PvP mode. Our goal with this budget-priced title is to bring more people into the Multiplayer lobbies that aren’t as focused on the single player campaigns or skirmish modes. More people playing online means more people to team up with and compete against! In addition to adding Observer and Replay Modes (which will also be included in Arena), we expect this to give our online community a big boost. And for those of you that are looking to play with a friend at home or at school, we’re even including LAN support!
FREE VERSION OF 8-BIT ARENA WITH UNLIMITED MULTIPLAYER
Finally, we will be making a version of the game available that offers free, unlimited multiplayer PvP with a single new faction each day. This version will have a limited soundtrack, and limited maps to host – but players can join anyone else’s game that has the full version and play on any of the maps they have access to (including custom maps). Again, this speaks to our desire to get people in and play online so that our multiplayer community of players can always find someone to jump into a game with.
With MetaVerse Modes, Replays, Observer Mode, a lower-cost alternative for PvP players and a completely free option – we are still working hard to show that the 8-Bit Series is very important to us as are YOU! We hope you enjoy all the stuff we’ll be releasing in February!

8-Bit Invaders Game Update #5 - 01/20/17
Hi everyone!
For those of you that own the other games in the series, this patch enables all 6 factions in the Metaverse. All the existing factions are being released a little early as BETA so we can get your feedback and make adjustments where we need to. Please let us know what you think!
Another important point of this patch is in regard to what's happening deep down in the code. REPLAY MODE is being worked on for all the 8-Bit Games! Starting with this build your game will begin generating replays while we continue to work on the User Interface for all 3 games. While you won't be able to view them yet, we can say that our internal testers say the Replay System is working great. We hope to release this new feature to everyone in just a few weeks.
Thanks for your continued support!

Invaders Co-Op promotional event ends today. Congratulations to the thousands of players that received a free copy of 8-Bit Hordes!

Fixed issues with territory ownership when the AI and Human players both lose to pirates in a three-sided battle.
The AI now has specific limits to how many units it will build in a territory.
Structures that are under construction at the multiverse level when combat begins will no longer appear in tactical battles.
You can now quit Multiverse mode without saving.

GAME FIXES / IMPROVEMENTS:
The tooltip for the Gorgon no longer incorrectly states that it can crush.
The radar blip for Invaders harvesters has been increased in size such that you can see them underneath the resource point icons. This is a temporary fix until we can replace it with a more aesthetically pleasing fix.
Fixed issue with Hordes and Invaders harvesters where crushable units would run away from them even though they can't crush. This general only happens when playing against a Hard or Insane AI.
Fixed passability issue on Orc-Jaw Ford map causing harvesters to be unable to dock at some resource nodes.
The Destroyer pit tooltip no longer says it needs power.
Potential fix for allied AI not respecting the factions 1-4 resource node "tap" mechanic, also system should not assign initial harvesters to a node more than once.
The allied harvester resource node "tagging" duration has been increased, which should prevent Invaders factions from stealing from their allies. Armies harvesters increased to 30 seconds (was 20); Hordes harvesters increased to 20 seconds (was 10).
Battlecam hotkey should not work while in Metaverse overworld.
Fix for dragging units in meta mode over the garrison structures, which would cause the drag icon to be placed over the unit icon, which would then cause the unit icon to not be draggable anymore.
The Guardians Drone Center and Scorch tank are no longer pointing to the Renegades tech building for their tooltips.
Fix for Earth Seige Co-op Mission so doesn't display a count of how many titan bays were destroyed (titan bays are only tracked for Gold Star Visual).
Fixes that allows Achievement "Hexes are the Future" to be completed.
Improved game stability.
BALANCE
Blast Bug: Min range increased to 250 (was 200), Shot cooldown increased to 3.2 (was 2.2); this reduces DPS to 5.14 (was 7.2). Change was made to both ground and air attacks.
Xeno Dog: Melee range increased slightly to aid in attacking larger objects, Base damage of acid pool reduced to 8 (was 12)
Invaders Harvesters: Health reduced to 350 (was 500), Move speed reduced to 200 (was 250).
Titan: The armor type on the Titan was incorrect (Light). It has been changed to Heavy, which was always intended.
8-BIT MICRO PATCH 12/20/16 @ 14:30 PST
Hey everyone!
We appreciate the help in finding a few issues we really wanted to get fixed before the upcoming break. The following has been addressed in the latest update...
Cranioid and Galactic Marine Harvesters teamed with the player will not "prefer" to select resources nearest to the player over its own resource points closest to its starting position.
Some players were experiencing an issue where they were returned to a blank screen upon exiting the Multiverse Mode. This has been fixed.
Very rare memory leak was fixed - we doubt anyone ran into this but it would have caused a crash if you were playing many games repeatedly with different custom maps.
Enjoy, and Happy Holidays to all of you!

8-BIT MICRO PATCH 12/17/16 @ 14:00 PST
Hey guys!
We just patched the game to properly support Workshop maps. Apparently, there was some new unit functionality that the older maps did not support and we didn't catch in our last build.
We would like to remind everyone that you should load and re-save out your existing workshop maps if you have created any. Properly updated maps will be given preference in our highlighted maps listing in skirmish and multiplayer modes.
Have fun, and thanks for your patience!

Release Timing News about 8-Bit Invaders!
Hey Players!
First, we would like to thank everyone for your AWESOME support since the release of 8-Bit Armies back in April. Since launch, we’ve updated our first 8-Bit game 26 times using the feedback that you have shared with us - and we have no intention of stopping support now. 8-Bit Hordes has also received a half-dozen updates over the last couple months since launch and we have more planned for the future that we’re eager to release.
As you all know, our third game 8-Bit Invaders! is a sci-fi angle on RTS using the same fun blocky art style from the series. Our goal is to continue introducing the real-time strategy genre to a new audience and grow the total number of players online by making all three games compatible while keeping the gameplay accessible and easy to learn. With the third game, we’re also introducing a new campaign mode that allows players to persist their army across multiple worlds and think a little more strategically about what their next move should be.
While development of this new feature is coming along great (it’s already playable) – we also want to make sure we get it right. Since this is something very new and somewhat experimental, we’re spending extra time building a challenging AI to play against and integrating various modifiers like territory bonuses at the galactic level. We also want to make sure features like save/load are in and working, since this is a game mode that will likely take longer to play than just one sitting.
As much as we want to get it into your hands soon, we’re going to take a little while longer so we have enough time for tweaking, and any further polish work that needs to happen. Because of this, we will be delaying the launch of Invaders until December. Our hope is to share some screenshots of this new game mode in the next few weeks so you can get a better idea of how it’s going to play. And course, we’ll be looking for some beta testers before launch so that we can make sure everything is balanced as well as it can be. We’ll let you know the exact date of the beta as we get closer to launch.
Finally, we mentioned above that your feedback has been invaluable in helping us decide what to focus on in our game updates. We’re still listening!
Due to popular demand, on November 11th we’ll be releasing a Unit Voice Pack DLC for 8-Bit Hordes which adds verbal responses for both the LightBringers and Deathsworn factions. These new voices recorded with professional actors and actresses add a lot of character to the game and we can’t wait for you to hear them. Best of all, we’re making this DLC available for the heavily discounted price of FREE! Even better, a Unit Voice Pack for 8-Bit Armies is also on the horizon to be released later.
Once again, we appreciate your support and the great feedback we’ve received through your reviews of the game. It’s really energizing for us to read through your comments and discuss what’s next for the future of the 8-Bit series. We couldn’t do it without you!
