Hope you’re all doing well. We (the devs) just wanted to let you know we’re working on something new. It’s called BEAT THE BEATS! Wishlist here!
Beat the Beats is an electric mix of rhythm and boxing game. Use actual boxing-style punches to pound your way through musical arcade levels in hypnotic VR, working up a sweat as you climb the leaderboards.

A Place for the Unwilling - Patch #19

Here we are with another game patch that fixes a few issues you reported. Thanks a lot for helping us to take care of our lovely city :)

Critical fixes
-Saul's funeral does now have a diary entry. -The mission "Painaway" can be completed correctly now. -The player can now keep the earnings of the mission "Painaway" without triggering wrong dialogue lines when talking to strangers the following days.
Small fixes
-The player must now talk to Wallace to start a major event during last Saturday. -The player can now convince Myles to go to their house during last Saturday. -If the player is in the theatre scenary at 23:00 on day 14, they get teleported to the theatre play. -Dana does no longer repeat a sentence during the mission "Migraine." -Dialogue works correctly now when the player doesn't found the potato of the corpses in the first attempt.
Style fixes
-The player can't now go trough a courtain inside the hospital room. -The portrait of one of the guests in Dana's party does now show correctly. -A sprite does now appear on the outside of Hoyt's Antiques and General Store after the mission "A child for a day." -A description is displayed now when the player interacts with the theatre ticket.
A Place for the Unwilling - Patch #18

While the situation out there is still tough, we want to bring you a brand new patch for you to enjoy A Place for the Unwilling as you deserve. A lot of major fixes and improvements have been made in order to get the game ready for... a new year and a new life!

Critical fixes
-The player can get stuck in the hospital room if he refuses to accept the mission "Interview behind bars". -The game no longer blocks when they exit the house on Day 18. -The game no longer blocks when talking to the factory guy during the mission "Keeping my ears peeled". -The player can no longer get stuck inside the corpse od the Park on Day 13. -The clock does no longer stop after the conversation with the Master. -No wrong dialogue is displayed after the player keeps the earnings of the mission "Painaway". -The player does no longer appear floating while seated if they save and exit during the funeral of Saul. -The game does no longer block when the player asks Juliet about Henry's dead during the mission "The Second Time". -The game does no longer block when the player sends the first letter to Juliet. -The game does no longer block during the first conversation with Gail during the mission "The crown". -The game does no longer block if the player selects the option "The chair is uncomfortable" during the Dreamed City sequence. -Giles can now be found in his shop on Day 6. -The game does no longer block when the player talks to the sailor during the mission "Betting on your life". -The player can now talk to Giles and Myles about Gail without depending on having a newspaper to buy or a conversation to have. -The player can no longer start a major mission during Day 20 without talking to Wallace. -The player can no longer get stuck during the conversation with the Merry Brats during the mission "Smoky and delicious". -The theatre keeps burned down after immediately leaving the scene and coming back. -The player can no longer get stuck at the beginning of Day 13.
Smaller fixes
-The player can now change tabs by using the arrows or the stick in the Documents Menu. -The diary is now updated with the murders mission. -The mission "The Trade" can now be properly finished when the player accepts the deal. -A dialogue option is no longer incomplete when talking with Harriet about Florence. -The text after the handshake with Myles during the mission "Consoling the inconsolable" is now correctly displayed. -All dialogue options during the first letter the player writes to Juliet are now correctly displayed. -All dialogue options during the mission "In the eye of the hurricane" are now correctly displayed. -All dialogue options during the conversation with the Master are now correctly displayed. -The word "PLAYER" is no longer displayed during the first conversation with August. -The word "PLAYER" is no longer displayed when the player interacts with the table inside the Allen's living room. -The player can no longer go trough the curtains inside the hospital room. -All dialogue options during the mission "Down with the Union!" are now correctly displayed. -The player can no longer go through the fences of the cemetery. -The player can no longer go through the walls of the bazaar. -The player can no longer go through elements of the last scene of the game such as props, walls, etc. -The player can no longer go through the walls of the church. -Lloyd tells the player to meet him at 22.30 instead of 22.00 during the mission "He will call us". -Saul does no longer repeat his dialogue about the White Boat if he already did. -A dialogue said by the player during the mission "Recurring headaches" is now said by Dana. -No errors are displayed on the map screen when using the controller. -Saul does not repeat his last dialogue line after the mission "The first time". -The character does no longer move by itself after the player leaves the diary opened for some seconds. -The camera does not longer get freeze when the player uses the fast travel. -A dialogue said by Saul during the conversation about the White Ship is now said by the player. -The player can't talk back to Giles after failing the mission "One sip is enough". -The player can no longer skip the mission "Interview behind bars" by going to the cemetery right after leaving the house. -No error is displayed over the title of the Diary entry for the mission "A loyal pupil" now. -When the player falls asleep at the first act of the theater play, the music does not remain active now. -The player can no longer drink Dana's potion if the bottle is empty. -The text of the ending "Secrets" is now correctly displayed.
Style changes
-The tab of Documents is no longer written in Spanish when the game is set to English. -The note the players if they kill Saul is no longer in Spanish if the game is set to English. -Interacting with the window behind Dana during the last day does no longer display the wrong text. -The funeral of Saul does now create an entry in the Diary. -The sticks of the map screen do now have arrows on their sides. -The book containing the endings does have now the exact amount of pages. -The controls prompt is now set to the very beginning of the game, instead of waiting for the player to get out of their house. -The player can now use the character "Ñ" when choosing their name. -The name Florence Peyton does no longer appear with a very big font size in the Diary entry for the mission "A reckless walk".

We have been receiving a lot of feedback from you during the last month and we wanted to keep the game updated you can can enjoy it properly so here is a new patch where most of the issues you reported are fixed. Thanks a lot for helping us to take care of our lovely city :)

Critical fixes
-The game no longer gets locked at the beggining of the conversation with Thomas, when talking to him to become a member of the Top Hat Club. -Talking to Gail during Day 12 doesn't soft lock the game anymore. -The mission "The trade" can be finished now. -The game no longer blocks when talking to Emily about her birthday. -The player can no longer get stuck with the corpse found in the park during day 13. -The player can no longer get stuck inside the hospital bedroom if he refuses to do the mission "Interview behind bar".
Smaller fixes
-Locating the corpses during day 13 should now be easier: one in the poor quarter square and the other one in the east area of Windless Meadow Park. -The map interface no longer shows a blank gap. -The diary gets now updates on a major Harriet mission. -Interacting with a potato, an onion or an apple displays now the correct text. -The text in one of the dialogue options during the mission "In the eye of the hurricane" is now correctly displayed. -The text in one of the dialogue options during the first letter to Juliet is now correctly displayed. -The text in one of the dialogue options during the mission "Consoling the inconsolable" is now correctly displayed. -The text in one of the dialogue options talking to Harriet is now correctly displayed. -The text in one of the dialogue options talking to the Master is now correctly displayed. -The text in one of the dialogue options during the mission "Down with The Union!" is now correctly displayed. -The player can no longer go trough the limits of the graveyard. -The player can no longer go trough the walls of the bazaar. -The clock does no longer stop after the conversation with the Master. -The player is no longer floating while seated if they save and exit during Saul's funeral.

It's been a while since the last major update but we are still working on the game. A Place for the Unwilling launched more than a year ago but we are still polishing things and trying to offer you the best experience possible. Oh, and by the way... stay tuned because we have big plans for the future! We will share more info during the following months.

Patch #16
Critical fixes
-The player no longer gets stuck when exiting the alley between the Police Station and the City Hall in the central quarter. -The game no longer freezes when the player accepts the first drink Dana offers to them. -The game no longer freezes after displaying the stomachache message. -The player can no longer get stuck behind a chair in the first crime scene. -The player does no longer get stuck with the corpse found inside The Orchard. -The game no longer freezes at the beggining of day 12. -The save data does does no longer gets blocked when saving inside the hospital bedroom. -The game no longer freezes after a dialogue with Harriet about killing "someone". -The game can no longer get blocked on Day 14 if the player is transitioning scenarios at 23:00 -The game no longer freezes when the player tells Myles to take the law into his own hands. -No major issues are happening now while entering or leaving the hospital room. -No major issues are happening when the player is changing from an scenario to another. -The player can no longer get blocked by the shadows. -The game no longer blocks when the player talks to Myles during day 5.
Smaller fixes
-The intro cinematic is now correctly displayed. -Save slots can be deleted correctly now. -The player can sit properly on the benches of central quarter. -The shadows that are seated on a bench don't overlay the player anymore. -The player can no longer go through some walls in Juliet's bedroom. -The player can no longer go trough a shelf inside the Top Hat Club. -The player can no longer trigger the newsstand explossion infinite times by talking to Giles. -The diary does now correctly update with the mission "Dreams of Ink". -The player can no longer go trough a wall inside the lighthouse. -The game does now respond well to the player decision on killing Harriet's chicken. -The player can no longer go trough the empty cage inside Harriet's shop. -The diary does now update correctly when the player finishes the ritual. -The day does now update correctly (Day 14, Sunday) after finishing the ritual. -Cassilda is now sitting on a bench during the last scene of the first act of the King in Yellow play. -The dialogue with the sailor during a Myles' mission is now fixed. -The player is no longer overlapped by a chair during the funeral. -The player is no longer able to walk over the hole of the grave. -The dialogue with Harriet about Juliet on Day 16 is now fixed. -The text displayed when interacting with the pills inside Juliet's bedroom is now the right one. -The player can no longer receive the third letter from Juliet if she's no longer alive. -The player can no longer go through the walls of the hospital secret room. -The conversation with Florence during day 20 does work correctly now. -August gives now the player the right directions to find him where Turbot Street meets Wool Street. -The diary entry for the mission "Nightmare door duty" does update correctly now. -Fixed a dialogue line in the mission "Interview behind bars" -Fixed a dialogue line in the ission "Drinking from Lethe" -All the diary descriptions are now correctly displayed. -No more visual glitches are happening when the player interacts with the map/fast travel interface. -The mission "Masterpiece" does now perform properly. -The shopkeepers have now a different dialogue option when the player talks to them outside their shops.
Style changes
-The "press any key" prompt fades when the player press any key, not only Enter. -The "Map and fast travel" mechanic's description no longer overlaps the interface. -The player no longer calls "madam" to Giles during their first day interaction. -The diary no longer calls "The Orchard" as "El Vergel" when playing in English. -The tutorial image shows only at the very beggining of the game now. -A sentence that should be said by the player is no longer said by Myles. -The player no longer tells Giles that a mayor event takes happened early in the morning, but in the middle of the night. -The player must now talk to Harriet before starting the ritual. -It should be easier now to know the position of the glyphs during the ritual. -The player can now relocate the objects during the ritual. -Minor dialogue fixes have been made to the King in Yellow play. -Once the "King in Yellow" play is finished, the shadows and the employee of the City Hall stop referencing it. -The player can now interact easily with the pills inside Juliet's bedroom. -Some dialogues have been fixed to refer the player with the correct gender and pronoun. -A bunch of assets overlaying the player have been fixed around the whole map. -The letter the player gets from Myles at the beggining of the day is now correctly displayed. -All pigeons fly away when the player aproaches them. -All NPCs thank the player if they finished one of them missions. -The coordinates Saul gives to the player to find the treasure should be now easier to understand. -Fixed the order of some events during a major Harriet mission. -The final line of Saul's dialogue is not repeated after finishing the mission "Fishing for fortunes" -Some dialogue fixes have been made: fixed bold and cursive words, gender and repeated dialogue lines.
