Almost two months after the release, the first additional localization update is here, and we hope it's the best version of how we can tell the stories in more languages. A Space for the Unbound x Makeship Collaboration - Nirmala Plush!
Hello, Space Divers.
Introducing the first Makeship collaboration with A Space for the Unbound, featuring one of the game's most enthusiastic children, Nirmala! The adorable plush had been crafted with the same level of diligence and precision that Makeship is known for and is expected to be a treasured limited-time collectible for all the A Space for the Unbound fans out there.
Alone in the secret base that no one ever visits, a young girl sits silently. She usually writes and draws or waits for a certain someone to arrive so they can play together. That certain someone is Atma, a high school boy with star-shaped bangs, coming to her aid to satisfy all her curiosity. When he arrived, the young girl smiled brightly and waved to him like she's been waiting forever. This girl is none other than Nirmala, a curious and bright child full of ideas like a child her age should be.
"Mr. Co-Writer, will you help me again today?"
Nirmala is a wise young lady that always finds a way with her words and attitude, which it makes difficult to make friends around her age. It's both a gift and a curse when she's standing out where not everyone can understand her. Due to how she was brought up, she developed a naturally curious character but, at the same time, endeavors to avoid getting into any problematic situations.

Despite being a cheerful child, Nirmala has a melancholic side that only certain people know about.

Trading cards are now available!
A Space for the Unbound trading cards are now available on Steam. You can unlock and earn trading cards, level up your badge, and get A Space for the Unbound community items of emoticons and profile backgrounds. You can get up to three random trading cards by accumulating your playtime as you explore Loka City.
You can obtain and complete the six character trading cards consisting of A Space for the Unbound casts. If you have difficulty obtaining the rest of the cards, you can craft them and upgrade the level badge to display them on your Steam profile. The level badge also will change as you level up, showing the iconic flower bloom from the game.
Spread your love for A Space for the Unbound and show how much of a Space Diver you are to your friends and community!

A closer look at A Space for the Unbound
Hello, Space Divers!
It's been more than two weeks since the release of A Space for the Unbound. How is everyone enjoying the game so far? We hope you had a pleasant time learning the ropes around the town, connecting the dots, and being in awe of learning about Indonesian culture like never before. After being in development for almost eight years, we are proud of how it turned out and how much amazing feedback we've received worldwide.
Remember this opening scene?
Did you enjoy the world-building of A Space for the Unbound? We integrated many elements from indigenous elements of Indonesia while still being relevant for people around the world. The use of pixel art helped us in creating a tone that we can't express in any other way. Creating lots of concept art also helped us develop memorable scenes for everyone to enjoy.
How did the story resonate with you?
What was that one scene that touched your heart the most?
As we developed A Space for the Unbound, we also like to make many references while still being connected to the main story. We hope that by creating different scenes which lead to the climax of the story, there's at least a scene or two that will affect you the most.
Did you know that A Space for the Unbound was initially made with a cliche story to save the high school without supernatural powers? After a few iterations, we decided to scrap it and made it to the point of what is released today. We are incredibly pleased with the final iterations as they also make a different impact from what we thought back in our internal game jam years ago.

The peak of youth, where you should make the best out of it. It’s the same with our young lovebirds of this story, Atma and Raya.
Follow the story of Atma, an ordinary high school student with the extraordinary Raya with her mysterious power. It should be just another school day for them, but the unexpected start to happen. A meteor falls from the sky, the sky starts creaking, and different out-of-the-world experiences happen around them. While Raya just wants to spend her sweet time with Atma – which involves using her power sometimes, Atma needs to solve the problems running amok in town. What is the cause of this predicament, and can Atma solve them before it's too late while still trying to spend his time with Raya?

A Space for the Unbound is a side-scrolling slice-of-life adventure game featuring a coming-of-age story by exploring the late 90s rural Indonesia. Sit back and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of A Space for the Unbound, which features beautifully hand-drawn pixel art by Mojiken Studio.Experience growing up with Indonesian cultures which can be felt by chatting with the distinctive townsfolk. A lot of stories are happening around the town waiting to be told. Investigate every inch of the town, solve the riddles, and collect the bits of information that help you uncover the true mysteries of Loka City.
We would like to thank everyone who has been with us, whether from the beginning or along the way we tease more and more content for the game. The community had been very supportive and kind, looking forward to the game's release. It kept us going for more than seven years. This game was started as a small game jam project back in 2015, but our enthusiasm pushed us to make the best stories that can be enjoyable for everyone. The Hands from the Past will Pull at Your Heartstrings Once Again
Hello, Space Divers!
Such a long title, eh? I am here again to drop more facts about our beloved game. Are you ready?
You might already know, that one of the previous Mojiken games, When The Past Was Around, has touched many hearts around the world. Only with two characters and point-and-click gameplay without dialogue, the game seamlessly tells a story about loss and letting go. The positive acceptance and reviews of When The Past Was Around was pulled out by the game and art director, Brigitta Rena, and the technical director, Elwin Lysander, who also make A Space for the Unbound.
In A Space of the Unbound, Rena gives her magic touch as the game writer, while Elwin gives all his heart and energy as narrative director. Both and the whole team has been working, deconstructing, and polishing the game for almost 8 years.
I wonder what kind of story they would offer in this story-driven experience, adventure game about the relationship of a boy and a girl with a superpower in the end of their highschool year?
It's only less than a week before the game is released, and we hope you are super excited to dive through Loka City. Interact with everyone around town, solve the mysteries, and uncover the truth behind the changes of Atma and Raya's daily life. We can't wait to hear your feedback.

Devlog: Behind The Game Director’s Favorite Character

How are you? I hope you have all been doing well!
Today I want to share the game director, Diman Novan’s favorite character in A Space for the Unbound, and a glimpse of the process in the character design.
It might be obvious to you that Dimas’ favorite character is Raya. At first, I assumed it was because Raya is a female protagonist with supernatural power. But, when I asked him why, he quickly answered, “The game itself exists because of Raya. The world, the story, and every detail are built around her.”
When A Space for the Unbound started seven years ago, Raya was initially designed to be more valiant and menacing, compared to the final design we see today. Then Dimas decided to design Raya as someone mysterious because in the game story, she’s trying to hide her supernatural power.
