So..

We are wishing you all Merry Christmas



Now we are working on the next chapter, what has different look, mechanics, enemys than before.
We are reworking the menu, making new VR mechanism ( which you couldnt see in another vr game ;) ), some UI fix and an huge update for Youtubers! :)

UPDATE - Story Mode Chapter 02 - 2017.12.14.



We also made a couple other improvements & fixes, here’s the full changelog:

Updates to A-Tech Cybernetic have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client (in on-line mode) is restarted.

These changes affect the Early Access game and the Free Demo build too.

Update v0.8.4.3

Sorry for the long silence, we grabbed a little more than we could handle at the time. But here’s the list:


  • Complete narration overhaul
  • Complete Zombie AI and animation overhaul
  • Melee overhaul
  • A new chapter of adventures
  • Swarm mode updates
  • Literally thousands of bugs fixed (and several dozen more bugs features generated as side effect)
  • Even more linear gameplay (we never thought that this might be a good thing)
  • Optimization tweaks, the game should even run below the minimal hardware
  • Additional sounds in many places
  • Graphics improvement all around
  • Checkpoint system, save and load options




Details

Chapter 1



  • We completely ditched the previous narrative, both the voice acting and the story. Yaaaay. (Sorry guys who actually liked it).Now it contains strong language, so faint hearted beware!
  • Removed the “flashback” scene. It made no sense.
  • Added a new introduction period where you gradually get access to the features of the game.
  • Added some hand-holding to the first corridor (“what the hell am I supposed to do”)
  • Serious (according to our GFX team, go see for yourself) graphical improvements to the main chamber.
  • Overall removed every obstacle from the main path, you can play using only locomotion (some areas are still only accessible with teleport but they aren’t needed for the story)
  • Removed many “where the f.ck did these come from” moments
  • No more facetearing maniacs running from the rooms that merge with your body because they are so fast.
  • Somewhat improved loot, more HP in the later stages of the map. (and overall more LEWT)
  • Improved pathing and corridor layout (You won’t stuck on everything, maybe only on every 2nd or 3rd object.
  • The Network (the matrix-thingy) drops you out automatically after completing the task. Which is now much more obvious.
  • Object clipping, like lights and fires is fixed





Chapter 2


It’s finally implemented. We won’t go into details because explore it for yourself, but we can tell you it was seriously reworked based on your feedback. When you find ways to break it please message us and we will include your name in the next patch notes (Eternal fame, infinite money etc. might come with it).

Enemies



  • A massive all around rework. Basically everything changed.
    Noticeably stronger enemies. Much more HP and damage (even if you play on “tea party” difficulty you might notice it).
  • Body shots do way less damage than headshots.
  • Their animations are more responsive, they react if you hit them.
  • Improved AI and overall behavior (no more running in one place)
  • Sometimes sneaking is an option (to a certain degree)
  • Melee improvements. You have to hit them properly to do damage, melee weapons are OP AF. You might throw the enemies across the room with a proper hit. But if you let them come close, you can get overwhelmed in mere seconds. High risk, high reward.
    If you just b.tchslap them they might collapse but they will get back up and get revenge for the offense.
    Brute (the big chubby guy) is much more durable now, acts like the tank he is.
  • The shooter enemy is much more dangerous now, take cover.
  • The fast enemy is tearing you to pieces in a few seconds.
  • New teleport effect on the teleporting enemy





Objects



  • Fire now damages properly and much deadlier now
  • HP station recharge is gradual and the total amount is increased
  • HP pickup health restore reduced from 50 to 20
  • Armor pickup armor given reduced from 50 to 25
  • Door opening panels are now much more consistent in both behavior and visuals
  • Multiple objects received new interaction sound
  • Force pull is now twice as fast
  • Keycards open the door consistently
  • Everything gameplay related (crates, drawers etc.) is now colored yellow, and has a distinctive lighting method
  • Everything that is not related and was yellow before was recolored to grey

Mutants have overrun the control room as a way to protest against having to face a massive number of players willing to eliminate them in the coming CHAPTER 02.

But don't be afraid! ;) Update launch will be on 14.12.2017 at the latest or sooner!

Do you think it's an essential gadget against the mutants as a mid-ranged weapon or would you rather use guns / rifles and take them out from a safe distance? Hi guys,

As we’re here talking to each other about A-Tech Cybernetic for a while now, we thought it’s high time we introduced our team to you all :)

We’re an independent game development company from Hungary, Europe, A-Tech Cybernetic is our first project together under the Xreal Games logo, although all of us has game development experiences from the past. We’re still a small team and until last week we were working remotely from our homes, but in that setup communication can be quite a tough challenge, so we decided it was time to appoint a proper gathering place, and here we are, posing proudly in our new headquarters in front of our game poster ;) But don’t worry, we don’t just pose for pictures all the time - some of us had to be dragged by the ear to stand still and smile as long as the photo was taken anyway - actually we can work like a zombie all day long, not even glancing out of the mighty sparkle of our beloved monitors and all we can think of is...brains...khm, I wanted to say games :)





As we’re a small team, it might take a little more time to develop things and to fix any bugs that you report, but we’re always listening to you. Actually we can’t wait to read your feedback you do post from time to time - when we get to read your opinion posts it’s like little puppies gathering over one bowl of food, it’s just not puppies but geek devs and not a food bowl but a the monitor of that person who first discovers that you wrote something about our precious little game. We develop A-Tech Cybernetic with all our hearts and minds, basically 24/7, and we really want to create something great for you and for ourselves.

If you want to know more about the members of our team, do let us know. We can drag them into the spotlight one-by-one every once in a while ;)

Hey guys,

We have really good news for you! In the past weeks we've been quite silent as we were working hard to bring you a great Chapter 2 story content, and it's almost done ;) We just need to add a few more things (such as new voiceovers, yey!) and test the whole thing to pieces and then we can hopefully deliver it to you sometime next week, as a free update, naturally.

As we said before, we're also working on a boss fight for Chapter 2, but it might not release with this update if it needs more tweeking (we want to make it reaaaly good). But! We decided to release chapter 2 next week, with or without the boss fight, but what matters is: YOU CAN CONTINUE the mutant-shooting run in the story mode too (well, actually restart it, but then you can play way more than before ;) we plan to add the checkpoint system with this update, if all goes well)! So, fingers crossed :D

Also, take a look at the f*cking brutal guy on the pic above! What weapon would you want to use to finish him? (*well, no, you can't use an M60 Machine gun, I know you'd want that but pick something else^^)

Alternatively, just let us know what you've been up to lately: have you played / seen anything memorable - well, you know - aside from this news piece here ;) ?

Boss Fight is coming soon! Check out the WIP pics!

Hey y'all!

In the past weeks we've been working hard on Chapter 2 in general and the boss fight at the end of it. We thought we'll show you some work in progress pictures so you see that we're NOT resting on our butts waiting for a miracle to happen ;)

So, the boss fight will take place in the Hangar, a very exciting environment, with tons of great places to hide / attack the boss:


The boss will have an energy shield & a vicious red robotic eye:


...Aaand, rockets ;)
