  • Add Bat Book unlock

  • Fix Crow alignment in damage sources
  • Polish player Slime attack
  • Fix progress scene player avatar desync
  • Add Mermaid Portrait unlock for beating the game as an Inkwell
  • Add Police Box unlock for beating the game as an Angel Statue
  • Add floor detection spikes to library
  • Fix Angel Statue display in UI
  • Increase shop prices in later dungeons
  • Automatically pause when games loses focus
  • Tweak alignment of Fan Plant's Wind Shear ability
  • Bugfix: Prevent monsters from getting stuck when they can't find a place to move
  • Bugfix: Prevent keyboard input from sticking when game loses focus
  • Bugfix: Chain Lightning no longer stops jumping when hitting hazardous entities (e.g. Thorns)

A Wizard's Lizard: Soul Thief launches on Steam Early Access in ONE WEEK

Get ready to possess monsters because the launch is right around the corner! We're excited to release A Wizard's Lizard: Soul Thief right here on Steam Early Access in just one week, April 5th.

During Early Access we'll be updating the game weekly by adding new monsters, dungeons, and items. We hope you'll join us and help shape the game's direction while we continue development.

Soul Thief coming to Steam Early Access April 5th

It's coming!! Soul Thief (the sequel to A Wizard's Lizard) is rapidly approaching Early Access launch. On April 5th, you'll be able to control Raga, the wizard's pet lizard, and possess a bunch of monsters with their own unique playstyles.

There are already a bunch of YouTube videos out there to showcase the game, and we'll be doing weekly updates to ensure we keep up with bugs, and add new content for you to enjoy on a regular basis. Soon we'll post a roadmap so you can see the intended progress of the development.

Soul Thief 0.8.0

Happy Friday! Under two weeks until Early Access launch! Here are this week's changes:

  • New Vermin monster in Courtyard
  • New Toybox reward unlocked for completing the game as Raga
  • Angel Statue is now possessable
  • Fan Plant is now possessable
  • Oven Turret is now possessable
  • Ice Box is now possessable
  • Nerf Ghost-powered Stove add spawn rate
  • Runes spawned by Possessed Portrait now disappear after some time
  • Add a reset button which resets the positions of push blocks in puzzle rooms just in case they get stuck in a corner
  • Buff Armor detection radius and allow it to detect non-orthogonally
  • Possession mechanic tweak which allows possession to complete even if the host body dies while the soul projectile is in transit
  • Possession mechanic: Soul projectile now returns to host body after a short duration or hitting a wall

Soul Thief 0.7.0

Less than three weeks until Soul Thief launches on Early Access! Thanks to all our alpha testers and streamers who've given us great feedback so far.

Here are this week's changes:

  • Add visual direction cue to several monster attacks
  • Bat Books now only fire when the player is within a certain range
  • Improve tile-based AI movement by preferring not to move into tiles occupied by collidable entities
  • After a boss is killed, all monsters in the current room are automatically killed
  • Spawn chest with Prize Tickets after a boss is killed
  • Possessed Portrait now teleports and spawns adds
  • Increase Killer Plant attack range/size and reduce cooldown
  • Improve Angel Statue's responsiveness to the player
