After more than 5 months, I present to you the Wealdheim update! This is the first playable town in the world of Little Legends.
Over the past few months, I have created a lot of core technology to be able to add more locations, quests and dungeons to the game. Wealdheim also shows how important the community feedback is during the Early Access phase, because originally hardly any stroy content was planned and now more and more lore is being developed, which is gradually finds its way into the world.
Welcome to Wealdheim!
Once upon a time, the “Ancients” traveled to other worlds by creating magical bridges through the Rift. Shortly before Azgorath corrupted the portals, separating the worlds again, the world of Runika was discovered - this is where we are playing in Little Legends so far. The descendants of the Ancients, the Ulan'mor, have been living on Runika ever since, together with some former settlers from other worlds, and inhabit the small town of Wealdheim.
The Wealdheim Theater Square welcomes you with the first in-game event. The Adventurers' Guild is organizing the opening of the theater with a hammer competition in which you can win the key to your farmhouse! I'm planning more events on the theater square in the future to further enrich village life.
Your farm
A little run down, but well located. Your farm is right next to the Adventurers' Guild and the market is not far away either. Here you can settle in, repair the fences, plant fields and grow your crops. You will also find some sticks and flints to make your first tools.
The market
You can buy and sell all kinds of things on the market. The Ulan'mor trade in gold coins, but there are plans to add other currencies for other folks in the future! The merchants accept everything for sale that they themselves offer, so just browse through their books.
Finally, you can buy things again that were previously only available in limited numbers. In addition to the new Christmas items, Sao offers various items as soon as you have found them for the first time. You can also buy the first headgear in the game at the market to turn your character into a Little Fashion Legend!
With the new map and save system, Little Legends now supports three different types of levels:
The classic randomly generated main world with improved special locations.
Levels, like the player house, whose interior you can customize.
Completely static levels, such as the villagers' houses.
In addition to these major innovations and preparations for the future, there are a few other things to discover. Since the game world is generated and saved, I recommend starting a new game world, otherwise the new areas can not be generated.
New objects
You can now buy corn seed and tomato saplings at the market.
Headgear can be purchased from a merchant.
Peach trees now grow in the basalt plains.
You can now craft a small outhouse.
Recipes for wooden benches made from normal and birch wood can be found at the carpenter's table.
You can now grill apples and mushrooms at the campfire.
Christmas chests and candy cane fences are now new objects that you can buy from Sao and which retain their appearance permanently.
Graphics
Trees now cast shadows.
When you enter a special place, the location name is now displayed.
The images for the Leather Armor and Leather Jerkin have been improved.
Customizations
The Spectaria now explains the Home Totem.
When you open the inventory in new savegames, you will see a guide to the next step in the game.
Chickens now always drop feathers and grass always drops fiber.
If you mine a pile of wood, you will now get the wood back directly.
The "readability" of the magic bridge in the rift has been improved.
Raw potatoes can no longer be eaten to avoid confusion with planting.
The durability of some wooden and gold tools and weapons has been increased.
Some item descriptions are now more descriptive of their functionality.
The Spectaria no longer gives hints during battles.
Technology
A new level core allows me to create many new levels more uniformly.
To save the different levels, your savegame will be migrated automatically. The “regions” folder will become “map.x”.
The technical anchor point of objects in the game world (entities) has been moved to the bottom left. Your savegames are automatically migrated accordingly.
The performance of the visibility sorting of all objects in the game world has been significantly improved.

Easter-Update
Happy Easter! Over the next few days, all egg nests in the game will be filled with colorful eggs. I'm also very happy to have finally found the bug that prevented the Blargh battlefield from being generated. Have fun with this big update and the new items and graphics!
Features and customizations
The music in the game is now biome-based. Individual music is also played at some locations.
During the "Easter Event" egg nests come in various colors.
The "Load Game" screen has a new user interface that shows more saved games than before.
You can now craft clay pots in the baking oven.
You can use a pot to make a potted plant at the potting bench.
You now need fewer mushrooms and carrots to make soups. The saturation value of soups has also been adjusted.
You will now receive more grass patches when crafting them.
Your interaction range has been increased to 2 fields.
The performance when exploring the map has been massively improved.
The performance when creating special places has been slightly improved.
All recipes with bowls have received improved graphics.
The graphics of all seed packets have been improved.
The wooden planks now have slightly more variations.
The graphics of the square wooden tables have been improved.
Bugfixes
Finally, after 2 years (!), I was able to find and fix the bug that was preventing some places from being created. This included the Aether Gathering Site where Blargh the Great Devourer spawns, but other randomly generated places were affected as well.
Some treasure chests were empty.
The character's appearance was not saved correctly and could change.
When defeating Blargh the Great Devourer in a double KO, the character could no longer move.
Street lamps were not always activated at night.

I'm currently remodeling the core of the game so that the village of "Wealdheim" can soon find its way into the game. Unfortunately, sometimes things break in the process. (ノ*・ω・)ノ

The ghosts in the Rift were no longer responsive.
Blargh the Great Devourer was endlessly generating monsters.

2 Years Early Access
Dear Little Legends Community,
It's crazy how time flies. For 2 years now we have been in Early Access and a lot has happened! Your feedback, especially in the livestreams, has contributed a lot to this. Even if there was criticism about a too early Early Access launch, I was able to derive important feedback from it. More content and, above all, an in-game story have been the focus of development ever since.
I would like to express my special thanks to all content creators. It is worth so much to be able to see exactly where there are difficulties in understanding. The new crafting Ui, for example, is a derivative of this.
Thank you also for your patience with the progress of the game. I'm still developing Little Legends on my own alongside my regular job, but thanks to your support I've already been able to reduce my weekly hours to work more on the game. :)
What's next?
If you're not following the livestreams, here's a little preview of the next big topic. While I'm working on it, there are always small updates that result from the improvements and expansions.
The world "Runika" gets its first small settlement with NPCs and merchants with "Wealdheim". A wide-reaching lore is also being created around all of this, which is gradually finds its way into the game world.
You can sell your farm produce and buy seeds for new plants at the Wealdheim market.
Other traders will have hats for your character and curiosities to decorate your farm.
You have probably already noticed the gold coin symbol next to your quick inventory. Here you can see how much gold you have in the future. I am currently planning to introduce different currencies on different worlds.
In Wealdheim you get your own little farm to build up. However, you are of course still free to build anywhere in the world.
I am currently working on a system for you to decorate your farmhouse with furniture!
Over time, Wealdheim will certainly be expanded even further than I am planning for the first update. The adventurers' guild will play an important role in this and I am currently planning for you to help build up the cozy village.
As you can see, A World of Little Legends is currently evolving from a storyless "Minecraft in 2D" to a world that takes you on a journey to one day save the people of the worlds from the threat of "Azgorath" from the Rift.

It's getting colorful!
It's getting colorful! I needed some beautiful carpets for the traders in the village of Wealdheim, which I am currently working on. Of course I can't keep these from you! Flowers can finally be gathered to make colors. Have fun with this small but colorful update.
Features and customizations
You can now gather flowers and boil them into colors in the cauldron.
With the new color set item you can create different colorful carpets.
As a small preview of the upcoming update, you can now discover small collapsed shacks in the world.
When creating a character, you can now change the background to see your settings on different terrains.
You can now walk over sticks and flints.
Mushrooms block a smaller area than before.
A gold coin is already displayed next to the quick inventory, but gold will not be introduced until the major update.
Bugfixes
Some special places could not be generated completely, which led to an error with loot crates.
A known item was not displayed in the recipe book if the items needed to craft it were still completely unknown.
Blargh the Great Devourer's AoE attack no longer dealt damage.
Some items did not perform the "wiggle animation" when mining.

Basalt & Bugs
Welcome to 2024!
Over the turn of the year I was able to find and fix a few bugs. I was able to discover some of these by working on the first in-game village. However, since it will still take some time before you can explore "Wealdheim", I have put together this small update package for you.
Features and adjustments
In a small test run, you can now find a crystal sword encased in basalt. The locations for this are scattered everywhere and will be restricted to the new "Basalt Plains" biome in the future.
You can find the new "Basalt Plains" biome in the "Farlands" in the east and west.
Some dialog texts have been improved, as they were not understandable and clear enough, or the lore behind them has evolved.
The graphics for stone paths and palisades have been improved.
The descriptions for buckets and scissors have been improved.
Bugfixes
The birchwood sign and the round table could no longer be loaded and used.
Wooden planks were still categorized under the crafting category.
In rare cases, an internal exception could occur when trees were growing, which slightly delayed the growth of the tree.
The growth time of the cherry tree was still set to 50 seconds test time.

Special Place Update
The Christmas trees are back! The update was supposed to be released a little earlier, but unfortunately I was caught out by Corona. Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy the Christmas trees that have been added! <3
Features and customizations
The character creator has been graphically reworked and now offers a choice of peoples as well as preview options for hairstyles, beards, hair colors, etc.
You can now find cherry trees in the world.
The fir tree graphics have been slightly improved.
You can now make guideposts at the carpenter's table. You can label these after you have placed them in the world.
You can now find more Special Places in the world.
The distribution of Special Places has been reworked so that more of them appear.
Doves no longer just appear, but actually sit on objects - and are very cute too!

Map Update
Features and customizations
The world is now generated around the spawn location. Different biomes now appear in certain areas and no longer randomly everywhere.
The new meadow biome is now located around the spawn location.
The "Farlands" biomes now begin further away from the starting point.
Rivers are now generated with small sandbanks.
You can now discover cacti in the desert.
Forests are now partially crisscrossed by small trails.
The spawn pattern of trees in the Dark Forest has been improved.
Trees now drop seeds instead of saplings.
Saplings now have multiple growth stages.
Saplings now have a new growth system. It is more performant and can save the growth progress better.
You can now harvest dates from palm trees.
You can now craft saplings from tree seeds at the new potting bench.
The images on the crafting tables have been slightly improved.
The images of the (mossy) stone walls have been improved.
The carrot image has been improved.
The images and base sizes of the trees and saplings have been improved.
Errors in chunk generation are now displayed in the tool tip box. You will no longer be rooted when entering the chunk.
Bugfixes
In certain cases, animals could be fed without having selected an item.
After a quick move, some items were invisible but usable.
Some world seeds could lead to squared terrain areas.

Halloween Update
Features and customizations
You can now craft corodium ingots from iron and lime slime, which are needed for the corodium scythe.
You can now craft slime walls from green slime.
You can now craft beeswax from honeycomb.
You now need crafted or waxed wooden rods for tools.
When using the mouse and keyboard, the inventory [e] and interaction [f] buttons are now separated.
The input hints at the top-right of the screen have been reworked.
The farmland texture has been completely reworked and the renderer is now slightly more performant.
Water is now animated.
You can now feed animals, but this has no further effect yet.
New Achievements, for the first death and the creation of farmland, are now available.
All collected items are now displayed, similar to new items.
Items can now have multiple actions. For example, you can now eat raw potatoes as well as plant them.
Attacks now trigger one animation frame earlier.
All weapon images have been reworked.
Weapon balancing has been improved.
You can now create stone fireplaces as an alternative light source.
You can now make beds out of birch wood.
The inventory graphics of the furnaces have been slightly optimized.
Slime sounds are now slightly quieter.
Path stones are now picked up directly into the inventory.
Bugfixes
When decorating tables, for example, in a certain case the wrong item was taken from the inventory, causing the wrong durability to be applied.
To interact with NPCs, it was previously necessary to interact with the field they were on. Now the NPC's graphic can be clicked more directly.
The animations of the gold weapons were not displayed properly.
In some furnaces it was difficult to select the fuel item slot via controller.
In some cases, the player character was displayed above the bedspread when sleeping.

Features and customizations
All animations have been reworked.

Game hints in the loading screen have been updated.
Scrolling through recipes, via controller or mouse wheel, now also plays a page-turn sound.

Bugfixes
The splinter particles in various actions caused a memory leak, which led to stutters after some time playing.
When you died two loot tombstones were always generated, even if this was not necessary.
The ToolTip sometimes still showed the Breaking Strength value of the previously marked item.
Food bowls were duplicated when eating soups.
Campfire displayed wood icons for ingredients in the background.
The fire in the oven went dark at night.
The glitter effect of magic dust did not glow at night.
