2.2 Dev Notes
In the true spirit of Black Friday, we’ve joined the fray by introducing official AdVenture Capitalist t-shirts! We chose to use Merch By Amazon, and have over 15 different shirts being released over the next month. They come in a variety of colors, are printed on Anvil - Relaxed, and there are even limited edition t-shirts that won’t be around for long.
There’s a link in-game at the bottom of the Swag and Stats if you are interested!
No update would be complete without a number of smaller additions and bug fixes, so let’s dive in! We’ve added a Quik Buy on Mars, and there were a ton of live bugs fixed in this update, making your pursuit of galactic fiscal dominance that much smoother.

2.2 Update!
The greatest day in Capitalism is approaching and it’s time to “Set Sale”! Be sure to get this newest update to ensure you can participate in the madness. In the Black & Blue Friday event you must wield the power of the Black & Blue Light Sale to cut costs, maximize profits, and reap the rewards.
Just to note, the Black and Blue Friday Event starts next Wednesday, November 25th!
How you earn rewards in the Black & Blue Friday event will be a bit different than it was in Halloween. In Black & Blue Friday, you are awarded badges, as well as Mega Bucks and even Gold as you earn your unlocks! No need to convert currency, just sell, sell, sell and unlock everything!

2.0.0 - Welcome to Mars!
The first announcement: Mars is here! Capitalists can now expand their financial empires to the surface of the Red Planet. Obviously that means new investments, new managers, new upgrades and all that stuff, but we’ve also added a new feature to this particular planet: Profit Martians!
The Profit Martians are a cool boost with a cooldown. Here’s how they work:
- The boost has a 3 hour count down. When it’s ready, you can activate it to double your profits for 30 seconds. Easy!
-If you don’t want to wait three hours, you can click on the booster (flying saucer icon) to shave a second off the timer. Helpful for those anxious Capitalists who just don’t feel like waiting those last 120 seconds to launch. -Once launched, you can also click the booster to ADD time – keep the boost going as long as it tickles your fancy!
If you’re digging the Profit Martians, we also introduced a couple of shop purchases to make the profit surge bigger and reduce the wait time between deployments. Let us know what you think!
The second bit of news – the Moon balancing has been overhauled! That’s right, the moon is RE-balanced.
The Moon is now, like, WAY better when it comes to progression and profitability. If you found the Moon wasn’t your cup of tea in the past, maybe try this new tangy blend and see if it agrees with you!

Mega Boosts are here!
Welcome. To the Mega Update. Dun dun dun!!
As you may or may not have guessed, this update contains the long anticipated Mega Bucks Upgrades! Now you can turn your hard earned Mega Bucks into Bling and profit!
Here’s how it works:
- Mission Control has been turned into the “AdVentures” tab. You’ll still find Mission Control and space content here, but also new stuff! SHINY new stuff!
- In addition to the Currency Exchange tab, you’ll find a tab for “Mega Boosts”. Here you can buy Mega Tickets - which can be used to “gild” your investments. Gilding an investment permanently boosts its profits by 777%, and also turns it into its shiny gold form. Wow!
- Once you’ve bought your tickets, just click on the Mega Ticket icon on the main screen to apply them. They’re awesome.
These are just the first things you’ll be able to buy with your hard-earned Mega Bucks. We’ve got more plans for the future, and we’d also love to hear from you about the other kinds of things you’d like to be able to spend them on. So don’t be shy.

We are hoping to get this addressed first thing tomorrow, and we'll provide full release notes on all the new content within the 1.1.2 update to give you a heads up in the mean time. In case you didn't know, this launch includes the Steam Trading Card system, fixes to the Moon Cloud sync issues some players have been experiencing, a Linux version (with the resolution fix), and a ton of additional Steam achievements.

1.1.2: New Achievements, Trading Card System, Linux, and a Game Update!

Since we're still working on the resolution fix, we wanted to at least let you know what is in the newest update! It’s a big mix of stuff, so we’ll break it down into three parts.
Part 1 - New Achievements and Fixes!
Let’s start this update with an apology! Regarding achievements!
Recently, we updated AdCap with a bunch of new unlocks and achievements for the Earth and Moon - but made a critical oversight. Our “Unlock Everything” Steam Achievement became more difficult to attain, because the criteria for earning it was simply “get everything”.
Well, a lot of players that were close to earning everything had the rug yanked out from under them. This was an oversight, and we want to fix it, so we’re changing the way we do achievements, and we’ve also just added 18 new Steam achievements!
We’re also implementing a new achievement at the original mark that the Unlock Everything achievement occupied (500 of every Earth Unlock) and we won’t be making achievements whose criteria will change as we continue updating the game.
Part 2 - Trading cards!!
In case you haven’t done the whole Steam Trading Cards thing before, here’s how it works. While you play AdCap and spend money/gold on its fine shop purchases, you begin to unlock cards (like a loot drop - the Steam standard for F2P games is spending the equivalent of $9 US in-game to unlock one card).

We’ve created five dandy cards for your enjoyment, along with five badges, five profile backgrounds, five emoticons and the ever-so-clever foil versions of select items. We wish you the best of luck in collecting them, and if you have any suggestions, strong recommendations, demands, threats, or ultimatums regarding cards we want to hear them! Moar? Less? (Please not less). Let us know!
Part 3 - Version 1.1.2!!!
In this update we’ve added some quality of life features on the Moon to make the quest for lunar domination a bit more convenient, and easier on the eyes. The rest of the update is mainly behind the scenes - bug fixing, performance improvements, cloud saving etc. We are working on something big for 1.1.3, more on that as we get closer to that update.
P.S. Some of you have been reporting that Moon progress isn’t saving properly to the Steam Cloud. This should now be fixed. If it continues for you in version 1.1.2, please contact us at adventurecapitalist@hyperhippo.ca for more assistance.
We’ll continue to keep an eye on the Steam community’s expectations for game and platform-related updates going forward. We have a few tweaks left with the Linux build, and then we'll be launching it with the resolution fixes.

AdVenture Capitalist Update: 1.1.1 is now live!
Here’s what we’ve added, tweaked, changed or updated:
* More Moon stuff! - We’ve also added some new achievements, upgrades, and managers for your businesses! You may notice there’s quite a few upgrades/that the new managers have the same price. This is intentional! The choice of which to upgrade is yours to make!
* New achievements for Earth - you knew it was coming! The Earth endgame has been extended, and we’re very very sorry if you were close to the end before. Progress!
* Moon modifications - we’ve adjusted a bunch of the values for the Moon, and changed how the Mid to Late game flows. All of our changes were to make things go faster, but not TOO much faster. The Moon remains a tough nut to crack, but it shouldn’t feel like a soggy slug slog. Speaking of the Moon…
* Orange Dot - we fixed the way the Orange Dots work. They used to tell you whenever you had something new to buy, and wouldn’t shut up about it until you bought it. This was a mistake. NOW they tell you when you have something new, and go away once you’ve looked at what it is. Useful and cathartic for you OCD types!
* End Game celebration - we added some confetti and stuff for players that reach the end. Good job! Escape while you can! D:
* Angel Reset suggestions - there’s more info now about when to reset, which is mostly to help new players get the hang of it. If Louis Fitui shows up and starts talking about resetting for angels, or if you notice the Orange Dot flashing when you can double your angels, that’s the ticket.
That’s it for now. We’ve got some more info on this and the previous update located at http://adventurecapitalistofficial.tumblr.com, where we’ll go over some of the tweaks in more detail. This is to try and reduce some of the confusion we cause when our tweaks don’t make sense at first glance.
