Nulgath Saga Part III: Into the Oversoul

Previously in the Nulgath Saga…


You joined Victor Lionfang and his paladins in raiding the Red Monastery to collect and assemble the pieces of the Shattered Sword. You achieved success but at the expense of the lives (and souls?) of your allies. Victor Lionfang became a Fiendish version of himself by the power of the entity speaking to him through the amulet which is the heart of the Shattered Sword, now known as the Oblivion Blade. Dage agreed to join you in your attempt to defeat the possessed Lionfang, but he and his Fiendish paladins escaped.



Continue the epic saga…


Seek out the fiend who was behind the corruption of Victor Lionfang and his paladins... Nulgath the Archfiend. With Dage the Evil at your side, enter the portal to the Oversoul.


Dage the Evil


Dage is the Lord of the Underworld, leader of the Undead Legion, and a person who has intimate knowledge of the Archfiend called Nulgath. How can you fail with such a powerful ally?



Seary


Seary has offered to be your guide through the massive Oversoul to find Nulgath. You can't trust her, but you can't do this without her.



Are You Ready to Begin?


If you’re starting in Battleon, Aurielle the Fiendstress will take you to Dage when you “Continue the Nulgath Saga” and earn experience to level up to the new level cap of 44. Talk to Dage in the Wastelands to learn more about the Oblivion Blade and the being that speaks through it...Nulgath. If you need to gear up a bit, at the base of the stairs where Dage is standing, Paladins Ryker and Everett are ready to help you out with level 38 gear. Use your Paladin Class Tokens or Lionfang Favor to purchase the items in the Lionfang Paladin armor set.

Forge the Thanatosium Warblade

Yulgar’s New Blacksmithing Quest


Head to Yulgar’s Inn to talk with the blacksmith-turned-innkeeper Yulgar himself. He recently learned that Doomwood has developed a vein of a new ore. Thanatosium is a very rare ore that is formed when a high concentration of spiritual energy leaks into the earth and seeps into existing ore. This augments the affected ore and becomes Thanatosium. Bring back some of this ore for him to forge you a weapon made of this unique substance.



Bulb Lightmaker


Bulb Lightmaker discovered the deposit in Doomwood. He can take you there if you help heal his injury.



Thanatosium Warblade


Gather ore from the Thanatosium Deposit and return to Yulgar for him to forge your new level 36 Thanatosium Warblade.



Celebrate Lucky Day


The Lucky Day Sneevils are back in the Battleon Social District! Talk to Lucky Lad to spend the Clover Leafs those Sneevils dropped on fun items from past Collections.

No new collection this year so you can save your DragonCrystals for the 2023 Dage Collection.

King of the Makai - New Quest Pet

King Masher


This is King Masher: King of all Makai. He is a new Farming Quest Pet with exclusive rewards via Nulgath Farming methods, developed by Sir Fainal Oremor. His many quests will take you into The Fiend Lands to collect Essences of Nulgath, Contracts of Nulgath, Tainted Gems, and more. Buy this new quest pet from the Special Pets shop on Gaz in Battleon (or the Chest icon on the screen) and click on King Masher to pop up his quests and get started.

Note: The Nulgath Saga region has been renamed The Fiend Lands in the Travel and Adventure Menus.



Contract of Nulgath: The Lucky Deal


This particular quest is a new design. It is not meant to be farmed, like the others, since the drop rate is extremely low, even compared to the other Contracts of Nulgath farming method. This quest is meant to be carried with you while you farm the other Nulgath Farming quests.

Every monster, mini-boss, and boss of the Wasteland; and every monster, mini-boss, and main Fiend Boss in the Catacombs (with the exception of the lesser insects in catacomb 2) have a very rare chance of dropping an Unidentified 13.

Seleden Forest monsters are excluded from this quest. Only Wasteland and Catacombs monsters will count for the Quest Item drop, so it is best to have completed Part 2 of the Nulgath Saga before accepting these quests.

Note: Contract of Nulgath max stack has been increased from 1 to 2. And this quest is also available in Bamboozle's farming quests as well as being retroactively added to the Crag Quest Pet.

A Knight in Yulgar’s Inn

Arathor Havenshield




A new face has arrived in Yulgar's Inn. If you travel there now you'll find Arathor, Knight of the Iron Bulwark. Arathor has traveled to Battleon in search of a rogue Knight who has fallen to the corruptive nature of the Void. Luckily for him, you, the Hero of Lore, are quite familiar with dealing with the forces of the Void.



A Familiar Threat


Arathor has tracked down the Voidrakar invasion he believes Morrigan is involved with. Help him subdue this familiar threat; but, don’t get cocky. This may be the beginning of something bigger.

Beleen Brings Back the Cursed 20th Anniversary of Doom!

Relive the Cursed 20th Anniversary of Doom event with all new host Beleen, the Pretty Pinkomancer. Play through this event in the style of a B-Horror movie marathon with six frighteningly terrible games. Or are they so awful they’re good? You decide!



What is this event?


You must be new to our game. Welcome!

The event celebrates the 20th anniversary of Artix Entertainment creating games… with a few adjustments from its original run in 2022. It is now hosted by Beleen, the Pretty Pinkomancer, and features voice acting, music, and cameos from returning guests George Lowe, Aurelio Voltaire, and Kimberly Freeman. You're the guest of honor in this special event and it is now permanent content. So grab your sword, dust off your spell book and head to Yulgar’s Inn to start the adventure…

Who is Beleen?


Beleen is the perky, pink-loving punsmith who joined the team as one of the main writers for AdventureQuest Worlds during the first part of the Chaos Lord Saga, then flooded our marketing and community management teams with her positivity and puns. Recently, she's returned to work on several in-game events with the teams... including the script for this event! That's why it made sense to have her take over as the host for the event’s revival, and finally bring Beleen into 3D.



Look Who’s Back!


While we had to say goodbye to some of the special guests in the original event, a few friends decided to stick around. Boy are we lucky to have them.

Aurelio Voltaire
You’ll find him inside of Scarbucks, playing guitar for the locals. When you finish the Scarbucks game, you’ll unlock the dance party where you can listen to a track from Aurelio Voltaire’s latest album “The Black Labyrinth - A Requiem for the Goblin King”.

The A.I. formerly known as Kimberly Freeman
Veterans of our games may not recognize her in this event. She has taken the form of your good pal and robot A.I. known as KIMBr:L3 in Derpicorn Apocalypse. Turn up your volume to hear a song from her band Audio Rate FM play in the background.

George Lowe
There’s no better way to pass the time in AFK: The Game than with quips of George Lowe cheering (or jeering?) you in the background and rewarding you with a shop full of prizes for your time well spent.



Your 20th Anniversary Trove


It’s time to complete your trove quest! While we did remove the ability to obtain any of the items in the original event with “20th Anniversary” in the title, we made an exception for those who already started their 20th Anniversary Trove. It took a lot of brainstorming and fine-tuning, but as long as you already started the trove during the original release in 2022, you can still obtain these items to turn in for your trove. You will have to be on the quest to turn in that item in order to unlock the item in a shop and/or for it to drop from a monster in the appropriate map. So go forth and complete your 20th Anniversary Trove!



What’s New in this Event?


We wanted to reward the players who went above and beyond during the original release. Those who achieved the highest ranks possible in any of our B-Horror adventures and earned Legendary items. So, we made a few adjustments to honor those achievements in this permanent version of the event.

Main Story Line:

  • Bean Twilly Pet is a Legacy item.


Ring of Doom:

  • Daily quest reward increased 100 medals
  • "Lord of the Ring of Doom" badge/title is Legacy and replaced with "King of the Ring of Doom" - Legendary "Ring of Doom Champ Belt" is Legacy and replaced with Epic "Ring of Doom Grand-Champ Belt" with higher requirement


Zom-bae:

  • Legendary "Axe of 1000 Corpses" is Legacy and replaced with Epic "Axe of 999 Corpses"


8-Bit Battleon:

  • Legendary "Pixel Blade of Awe" is Legacy and renamed “Classic Pixel Blade of Awe”. It has been replaced with Epic "Pixel Blade of Awe"


AFK:

  • "AFK Legend" badge/title is Legacy and replaced with "AFK Eternal"
