Invest in up-and-coming outposts across the archipelago this update with a new system for jump starting outpost XP gains. Outpost investment allows airmen to skip the first rank of outpost enhancement for a small gold and random resource cost. Investing only maximizes XP so be sure to select the rank up benefit to collect your return.
Outposts can be invested in to increase their XP to max when rank 1.

Airmen 1.21.8: Outpost Upgrades 2
This week's update adds a unique new outpost upgrade: the defense turret. The turret will target any ship with a bounty including other AI ships. The new EvE functionality has also been expanded to cargo ships. Aggressive AI on the archipelago will assault passing cargo ships leaving the rewards to the nearest opportunist.

Outposts will lose a quality every 48 hours. This timer resets whenever XP is gained. After an outpost ranks down the next rank down will occur in 24 hours if no XP is gained.

Airmen 1.21.7: New Outpost Upgrades
This week's update adds a few small features to outpost enhancement. Outposts with refineries can select an upgrade that provides a trickle of matching raw resources. Remember the choose outpost upgrades wisely as an outpost's max rank is five.

Airmen 1.21.6: Outpost Ranks
Outposts across the archipelago are overhauled this update adding a per-outpost rank. Each outpost gains XP when contracts from it are completed and cargo is extracted through the cargo cache. Once an outpost gains enough XP, any player can select an upgrade for it at the supplier, adding a refinery of their choice or new contract provider.
Future updates will flesh out the outpost XP system and rank upgrades. Some existing functions such as higher level contracts will be split into their own upgrades along with new enhancement options. Additional means to gain outpost XP and mechanics to maintain it will also be added.

Airmen 1.21.4: Submersion Effects Improvement
This week's update overhauls many of the visual effects tied to camera submersion. The player camera is now treated as either fully submerged or unsubmerged and when this status changes, a simple effect will play on the screen. Additionally, the underwater fog effect has been updated to properly shade transparent surfaces instead of tinting them based on the distance of the surface behind them.

This week's update adds a new encounter at outposts across the archipelago. Small minefields will appear above outposts to harry visitors. Remember to check for and disarm mines before approaching an outpost to avoid an extra trip to the ship factory.

Airmen 1.21.2: Ship Rebuilding
Factories across the map gain a new functionality this update allowing airmen to restore destroyed parts on a ship. The new rebuild option costs 10 gold and the part cost of each destroyed part. Faction players are unable to utilize the rebuild option at factories controlled by other factions.

Reduced the firing slow of most adjustables from 80% to 60%.

Airmen 1.21.1: Semi-Adjustable Behemoths
Semi-adjustable behemoth cannons are available in this week's update. The new cannons work like regular adjustables but only have one axis of rotation. Multi-behemoth loadouts can now be configured for gun convergence or coverage.
Walker legs have also been updated with minor features to ease their use with less aimable weapons. Their new tilt controller interaction allows them to hold varying degrees of tilt and the drift cancellation of the mech legs keeps the ship extra stationary.

Airmen 1.21.0: 4th Anniversary Update
A shrewd business man carrying goods of the highest quality arrives on the archipelago for this year's anniversary update. Blow through you massive stockpile of resources this update to purchase 6 new cosmetic mustaches. Launching an expedition during the anniversary event will automatically reward you with the classic mustache. After the event ends, the classic mustache will become purchasable from the mustache trader and all mustaches will remain permanently available.
Track down the mustache trader at any of the contract forts marked on the map. Each mustache can be purchased for a very reasonable amount of their related resource and equipped in the new accessory tab of the cosmetic menu.

Airmen 1.20.20: Behemoth Gatling Cannon
A third behemoth class weapon, the behemoth gatling cannon, arrives this update. The behemoth gatling fires a mildly explosive shot with greater accuracy than the behemoth flak. The cannon is slightly more accurate than the flak variety and has a higher firerate. The behemoth gatling cannon is unlocked alongside gatling weaponry.
