Airport CEO Alpha 33.50-0 released (The Holiday Mini Update)

Happy holidays airport CEO!

We're back just before Christmas with a little holiday update, consisting of a few important bug fixes but also a small, well perhaps not so small in size, Christmas present!



The Airbus A350-1000, flown by Olympus, is now available! If you have an existing contract with Olympus at your airport you will need to cancel and re-accept it in order to make sure that the 350 is included in Olympus's fleet generation.

As you can see, all aircraft are currently wearing little santa hats as part of the holiday spirit. If you do not want them you can disable it by pressing F10 opening the development panel and pressing the relevant button.

Alpha 33.50-0 brings an initial fix to the issue where passengers in some cases could not access rooms built on upper or lower floors, and also an initial round of fixes for the secure zone disappearance error. In this update we're also adding experimental support for Russian, Czech and Turkish! You can try it out by going into the gameplay panel and switching language by pressing the associated flag.

Lastly, we at Apoapsis Studios (Alexander, Olof and Fredrik) would like to thank you all for this year and hope to see you in the next one - we'll be taking a short holiday leave (although we'll most likely pop by the community now and then) but will be back in early January kicking off with the experimental release of Alpha 34 and a new round of features!

Airport CEO now available in French, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese!

If you haven't noticed it already, Airport CEO now officially supports French, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese! Although these languages have been supported as of a minor update for Alpha 33, we've held off with the official announcement to perform another round of quality assurance with the localized text out in the wild. We are as of today happy with the quality of the translations in their early access state and are therefor now ready to claim official support for these languages. Here are a few answers to a few questions you might have...

How do I change language?


Launch into the game's main menu and go to the gameplay settings menu. Click on the preferred language's flag and accept the prompt by pressing "OK". The game will now reboot into your preferred language version.

Why is some text on the experimental branch not localized?


The experimental branch is our fast paced development branch where we primarily focus on implementing features and content. When new content is added, the text we produce for the interface is written in English and the translation of that text is automatically placed in a localization backlog. Once we've accumulated enough text to be localized, or once we deploy a new major update, the text in the backlog will be translated.

Why is some text on the default branch not localized?


Then you've found a bug! Airport CEO consists of over 17500 words and in an early access state it's possible for something to slip through. Bug report it using the in-game panel and we'll get busy fixing it!

Why is the word "[insert any word]" incorrectly translated?


Airport CEO consist of a lot of complex industry terminology. We would love your feedback on the language you've chosen in the game and you can send it directly to us via the bug reporting panel, or reach out to us via any of our social channels!

Can I help out translating?

Airport CEO Alpha 33.8-0 released

Good afternoon airport CEO!

It's time for a small stabilization update for Alpha 33 with another round of important fixes. Specifically an issue you've reported a lot with passengers that do not show up in time for check-in when the airport is under heavy load has been fixed, along with a few other important solutions.

Airport CEO Alpha 33.7-47 released (The Queen's Mini Update)

Hey, hey, hey, airport CEO!

As we wrote in yesterday's dev blog we've got another little Steam autumn sale surprise update for you. Alpha 33.7-47 brings a few fixes but most importantly introduces the Queen of the Skies to Airport CEO!



The 747 is flown exclusively by Swiftly and if you have an existing contract with Swiftly at your airport you will need to cancel and re-accept it in order to make sure that the 747 is included in Swiftly's fleet generation.

Airport CEO Alpha 33.7-4 Released

Good morning airport CEO!

It's time for yet another default update. Alpha 33.7-4 brings a lot of improvements including early access testing of several new languages, a new path finding worker thread solution, new a check-in desk allocation system and loads of other fixes.

This update especially targets you who've had issues with stalled passengers and employees in a late-stage airport with around 2k+ passengers or more. This is by far the bulk of our current bug report backlog and to solve it we've overhauled a large part of how the simulation engine distributes and calculates paths across multiple requests. We'll dive deeper into this in today's dev blog!

Good evening fellow CEOs!

We hope you're having a chill weekend and to make it a little bit more chill we're deploying Alpha 33.6-0 which brings a new round of stabilization fixes, specifically targeting the stuck airside shuttle buses you've reported a long with some capacity improvements for large aircraft in relation to check-in.
