Xbox Progress Update

Hello, Ground Handlers!

We’ve seen a lot of questions about the upcoming Xbox version of AirportSim and we will use this blog to update you about its status.

As you know, the Xbox release is still ahead of us. Unfortunately, we did not meet the estimated date we outlined in our Q1 roadmap. Nonetheless, you can rest assured that we’re diligently working on it!

Where are we right now?

Currently, we are in the certification process, which can vary in duration. The timeline for this phase can be unpredictable, making it challenging to specify an exact completion date at this moment.

As soon as we have information and a known release date, we will let you know!.

We apologize for the inconvenience and share your anticipation for the release!

AirportSim DLC: Bologna

Today marks the arrival of new content for AirportSim: the Bologna DLC! The AirportSim Bologna DLC is available now for download, priced at $9.99 / £8.50 / € 9.75 minus a 10% launch discount.

This DLC grants players the opportunity to play at an entirely new Italian airport, meticulously recreated based on photos, video materials, and documentation. But that's not all. Additionally, at the Bologna airport, we're putting into players' hands a brand-new Follow Me vehicle. This popular car, which is a hallmark of Italian airports, will allow players to experience true speed while completing tasks.

Aeroporto Guglielmo Marconi was opened in 1933, meaning it has been operating for almost 100 years. Starting today, you will not only be able to admire this beautiful facility but also get to work on its premises. The DLC puts a completely new map in your hands, allowing you to experience new gameplay, either alone or with friends.

Bologna Airport is famous for its unique Follow-me vehicle. While you might have gotten used to the comfort of the more classic pickup truck, this DLC will bring you a high-octane experience while driving this exceptional car. Get behind the wheel of a luxury sports car and see if its incredible speed will help you complete your tasks on time.

The AirportSim Bologna DLC is available now, and you can purchase it HERE. We hope that the Italian airport will bring you a lot of joy, and you'll discover the pleasure of ground handling in the Mediterranean.

AirportSim Patch Notes 1.2.4

Recently, new content has been added to the game, and we have been focussing on gathering your feedback.

Here's the full list of changes:

  • Disabled collisions between unused vehicles and traffic.
  • Added front lights to towable stairs.
  • Introduced the option to toggle airport traffic on or off via the menu.
  • Added audio effects for dragging and rotating a towbar.
  • Added a plane delay icon to the tablet task list.
  • Implemented a feature that prevents accidentally throwing cables or refueling hoses into containers.
  • Fixed an issue where vehicle impact sounds are played when the player throws cables or refueling hoses.
  • Added the condition that operational lights must be on during the follow-me process.
  • Resolved an issue of passengers not climbing mobile stairs.
  • Fixed an issue where planes skipped some path points during crossroad searching in the Follow Me task.
  • Addressed a problem where several planes attempted to occupy a single parking space.
  • Fixed road blockages for NPC vehicles in Warsaw.
  • Fixed a bug where Follow Me breaks when the player restarts the game during the Follow Me process.

We are currently working on the next update, which, in addition to fixes, will bring another new feature for you! Stay tuned for more information and feel free to join our Discord to give us feedback about this update.

AirportSim - New Content is Here!

As you know, our roadmap indicates that the first milestone of 2024 has just been achieved. We are thrilled to announce that new content is here!

Today’s patch notes (1.2.3.) bring exciting new additions! Towable stairs are now available at all airports. Unlike the current TLD-ABS stairs, these need to be towed by another vehicle to be positioned near the aircraft. Players can then move these stairs around to precisely align them with the aircraft doors. Pretty exciting, huh?

Also, your airports are about to become much more lively: New NPC vehicles will enhance the scenery on the single player apron of AirportSim. They will follow dedicated roads around the airport, adhere to traffic rules, stop when there is an obstacle or a player in front, and spawn in different configurations, such as tugs with or without luggage carts. Please note that these are only for visual appeal.

With this patch, several fixes are also coming:

  • The issue of passengers not boarding the aircraft when using mobile stairs has been resolved
  • GPU detachment from the connector in multiplayer has been fixed
  • The range for catering connections and adding a walking path for employees to board the aircraft has been extended
  • Multiple sound-related issues have been addressed
  • Further improvements and fixes have been implemented

Now, put down your coffee and go check out the new features, ground handler. See you on the apron!
