Patch notes:
- New prologue starting characters: Jade, Max and Akumi Huntress.
- 3rd Zone complete: Cragkeep Mountains.
- Most heroes and enemies have skill kit updates.
- Guardians now gain “Rage” when hit, increasing damage. All Guardians get “Ironhide” Increasing defenses and resistances as they get hit. Allowing them to eventually resist most status effects. They also have a taunt on their default attack with a 2 turn cooldown.
- Chaz has a new armor skin and gains a personal custom skill that allows him to take 100% damage that would go to an ally upon himself. No cooldown.
- Skeez’s and Demonkiss Shade’s ultimates now do piercing damage. Demonkiss’s default attack pierces and Demonkiss Shade special attack also pierces. Piercing attacks hit all enemies the projectile touches. Possible to hit one target twice with a single projectile.
- New Characters: Max, Gwen, Meka Drone, Akumi Defender (Guardian) and Akumi Warden (Support).
- Pirates can now steal your buffs.
- Molly now obtainable again. Her skill kit relies on stacking bleeds and activating them with her ult for big damage. Her default and special skills steal buffs from the enemy for herself.
- When Algafoffthe or Braxus hit undead targets, they stun it and cast holy fire on all enemies.
- When Tirax hits a human, he drains more life and casts poison on all enemies.
- Bounty Hunters who attack humans and droids, mark them to take 100% more damage.
- Most map nodes are not visible until unlocked. There are more hidden nodes to discover in each zone.
- Spug City now has a Colosseum with extremely difficult random enemy encounters. Colosseum drops some enemies as rewards. Boss enemies retain their boss stats. Enemy rewards can also drop in other places.
- Preparation skills only work at the start of battle, cannot be activated manually anymore.
- Many new upgrade skill recipes. New chipped gems, normal gems and perfect gems with different passive procs. and stats. Gems will fit into the Preparation slot. All can be upgraded early game for major boosts.
- New bubble shield removing and preventing skills.
- Hitting a target with bubble shield will create a new impact animation and sound effect.
- New weather particle effects: rain, thunderstorm, snow, blizzard. Courtesy of Tulio.
- Some enemies need specific strategies to beat. All character stats will eventually be challenged.
- Hunter Center unlocks in Zone 1.

Build 0.0.9 - Save Test & Bounty Hunter ID Test


Game Save Testing

  1. Step1) DO NOT PRESS F5

  2. Step 2) Press Ctrl + F11 This is where your save file is stored. Write down the path displayed on the last Log. The folder "Akumi_Wars" is the save file folder. (Make sure to uncheck "hidden items" if you cannot see the folders in the path.)

  3. Step 3) Press play to see if your game loads. Step 4) If it does not load (shows black screen). Step 2 shows you the location of the "Akumi_Wars" save file folder, note it is different from where the main game data is stored. Save this folder to the Google Drive provided adding your Discord name to the end. Example: "Akumi_Wars_Miltonius". Also note, the save Files will be very small, only a 30KB for me.


Update to Dev/Cheat Shortcuts now require pressing left Ctrl first. Left control or Ctrl +
f5 - reset game
f7 - create random rune
f6 - add currencies
k - kill random hero (during battle)
o - kill random enemy (during battle)
l - make all heroes level up (during battle)

Patch Notes
• Each class gives a different passive aura bonus to allies
• Can choose rewards. ( First level node only )
• Testing Cutscene rewards
• After victory, get a stats record of damage done, damage received and healing done.

Demo 0.0.8 - Patched

Patch Fixes:

  • Fixed softlock caused by Diogon and Spug King boss… hopefully.
  • Replaced Spug King resurrection with 2 turn invincible. ( When rezzing his statuses we’re not showing. )
  • Removed Diogon’s reflect poison when hit. I think it was one of the causes of some of the softlocks. Increased his poison duration to 6 turns.
  • Removed Nyssa’s extra turn after summoning an elemental. She was taking too many turns.
  • Removed Lester’s precast attack.
  • Lowered Spug Guardian’s normal shot damage.
  • Doubled Braxus Dragonskin’s ultimate cooldown from 3 to 6. He can now be crowd controlled. He's still really strong.
  • Fixed grammar mistakes listed in Discord.
  • Mirna update. Mirna’s Performance critical damage percentage is now 2%. She also has a new 25% chance to gain “Luck of the Draw” (Algaffofthe suggestion) which increases critical damage 5%. Both Luck of the Draw and Performance have infinite stacks.
  • Added new Spug Dungeon to Spugnolia for farming.
  • Both the Dark Dungeon and Spug Dungeon can be farmed for experience and gold. Both will drop runes the first run through that can be used or sold for a nice chunk of gold.
  • Experience for boss kills now corrected. Some bosses we’re giving the same experience as minions.
  • Enemy hitpoints lowered.

Akumi Wars Demo Version 0.0.8 - Spug City

Patch Notes:

  • Brand new zone open, Spugnolia! Home to Spug City, where Akumi lives!
  • When hero’s are critically hit, new blood splatter FX on screen.
  • When heroes critical hit an enemy, new camera shake.
  • Many new skills focused on passive stacking of statuses to buff your damage, defense, healing and more!
  • New consume/activate DoT skills. Skills that can activate and/or consume DoTs on a target to have all the damage it would do over time happen immediately. Can also be used to heal caster.
  • New Demonkiss shop focused on selling unique and powerful offensive skills at a higher price. Need gold? Skills can also be sold here for a higher price.
  • New character Jade: Focuses on piercing shots that damage and removing buffs from her targets. Does your enemy have too many heals, shields and other buffs? Jade says begone!
  • New character Trena: Jade’s sidekick who compliment each other’s attacks. Trena, the agile beast girl, who can constantly stack marks on her target to take more and more damage. Great at disposing of single targets with ease.
  • New Character Caddeus: Don’t let his looks fool you. This fire-breathing lizard has ironhide skin that continues to increase the more he gets hit!
  • New Character Liv: Focuses on root attacks that reduce enemy turn meters and slows their attacks. She also has a new healing method where she can heal her primary target and then place a second delayed heal on the lowest health ally. This second heal will activate in 2 turns. It’s a life saver!
  • New enemy weaknesses. The Scarlet demons seem to take little damage from your heroes until you add fire to the mix. First enemies to take more damage from a specific element.
  • New upgrade shop. Got duplicate skills of the same type and level? Go to the Upgrade Shop and combine 3 of them into 1 stronger version. New common items have been added that can be upgraded: 3 Normal Potions can be upgraded into 1 Epic Potion. 3 Epic Potions can be upgraded into 1 Legendary Potion. New “1Up Shrooms” can also be upgraded.
  • Many new cutscenes.
  • Many, many new character skill kit revamps! Example: Akumi gains attack stacks the more she attacks with her sword making her a power house the longer the fights go. Her ultimate attack now activates all DoTs on her target for bonus damage. Stack them DoTs before using her ultimate attack!
  • Now you can read Hero bios to get tips on how to best use their skills!
  • New skills that give bonus critical damage to stunned targets.
  • Many new Hero Skin rewards.
  • Probably more stuff but too much to remember. Have fun!






Quick Fix 0.0.7 - Patch

Fixed:

  • Runes bugged. Battle was soft-locking on victory screen because of the rune reward drops. Rune inventory no longer functioning so not possible to equip runes.
  • New battle status menu placeholder available in battle when pressing the question mark icon
  • Added prologue back to build for new players to experience

Akumi Wars Build 0.0.7

Build 0.0.7 Changes:
• F5 menu prompt to confirm memory cache clear.
• Steam “Achievements” Dev test (in progress)
• Can now sell skills in the shop for gold.
• Removed 1st boss’s surprise attack and fast attack skill.
• Skill tiers: most skills now have 5 tiers:
Common- no restrictions
Uncommon- Level 10 restriction
Rare- Level 20 restriction
Epic- Level 30 restriction
Legendary- Level 40 restriction
• Special skills can have no level restrictions.
• Unique skills can only be obtained once.
• Skill drop pools added to first zone (Stoneshore) Will drop common and uncommon skills. Some bosses will drop rares and legendary skills.
• Stats menu streamlined. Tooltip added to explain what stats do!
• Skill tooltips now resides at the bottom of the inventory.
• In Progress: rune fusion and rune word bonuses.
• In Progress: map node placements for zone 2 (Spug City) laid out. Node lock system test.

This update was more necessary for the achievement dev testing. The next build will be an update of new content. A new zone, Spug City, with new characters and rewards.

Demo Build 0.0.6 Update is Live!

Hello Playtesters,

There's been a ton of polish and work added to this build. We're giving you access to all the characters and skills in this build to test out again.

Updates:

  • Turns between character actions have been sped up significantly.
  • Frame-rate slow-down has been drastically reduced. Tulio fixed some performance issues and I turned off looping for a lot of visual effects like the healing over time animation. These we're a major reason for slow-down.
  • Damage and heal over time effects are now played individually. Characters will now play a pain animation along with sound and visual effect for each DOT they have on them. Some dots have been reworked to have a more consistent effect: Poisons reduces healing and does damage to remaining health. Bleeds reduce damage and does damage to remaining health. Burns do a percentage of target's max health as damage. This can be slightly varied from character to character.
  • Many menu polish updates: shop item tooltips, tooltips for characters in victory screen
  • New characters: Miltonius, Tirax, Soybean, Chaz, Scarlet Betrayer
  • Chad minor rework
  • Level 20 big boss test nodes: "Timeless Titan" and "Scarlet Fiend" (Extremely Difficult)
  • New settings options: fullscreen/ windowed, resolution options and a quit button!
  • New voiceover audio added to Akumi and Drone in the first cutscene.
