0.86 - Create Adventure maps

Hi,

A new update was released today with a lot of interesting features for map makers.

Here is what you can do to create and share adventure maps:

Create custom blocks





You can now create custom block which can be placed and broken exactly like normal blocks in the game.
They can contain a mixture of all elements including grass and glass, and can emit light.

Create custom mobs/NPC





It is now possible to create custom mobs, they are like the creature you can give life to, but you can script them to add dialogs and interact with quests.

Add quests to you maps





This version also comes with a first version of the quest editor. There are still some bugs at the moment.
I'll write a full guide on how to create quests later on.

Add waypoints to your maps



There are some new commands to add waypoints without creating a portal.
You can use this tool to do that:

Other changes



In survival mode, some blocks such as crystal and rare metal can now only broken with tools and not by hand.

Quests are now available in multiplayer so you'll see the default building tutorial quest on the official server.

0.85 - Anvil, Portals, Protection Crystal and more

Hello,

A new update was released today, introducing some new items:

The Anvil can be used to repair weapon and tools:




You can also create some Portals to travel faster to places you visited. Each portal teleports you to the next one you created:




Portals can be named and will appear in the map:



A green portal can be used only by the player who created it. If you are creating a map, you can place blue "Public Portals" which can be used by everybody.


In multiplayer, it is now possible to create some Protection Crystals which work like the Totem and will prevent other player to destroy what you built.




Other changes include some mob AI tweaks and a lot of bug fixes.

0.84d - Changes in weapons and music

Hello,

A new update was released today, with a few notable changes on how melee weapons work:
- weapons such as Swords no longer use the Stamina bar
- instead, weapons now have a durability bar: a Sword will break after a number of uses on mobs

Other changes in this update include:
- 2 new musics, more will be added later
- New items: Ladder and Storage Crystal
- Some bug fixes

0.84c - Potions and more

Hello,

A new update was released today, introducing an Alchemy Bench which makes it possible to create some useful potions!



To create it, build the shape you see on the left and transform it using the "Make Useful" tool.

Also, starting from this version, the amount of each element you can hold in your inventory is limited to 100, so you'll really need to use chests to store more resources.

Other changes include:
- While and For introduced in scripting language for custom items, as well as new commands such as setBiome and addEffect
- Fixed some bugs

0.84b - Share your maps on Workshop

Hello,

A new update was released today, and it is now possible to share whole maps on the Steam Workshop!

To share a map, open the inventory while in Creative mode and you'll see a new "options" tab where you can set the spawn position and publish the map.

Of course, maps can use customs items/weapons made by you or other people. Any customs items used in the map will automatically be joined to the map, players won't need to subscribe separately, in fact you won't even need to publish the items separately if you don't want too.

In the future, it'll be possible to add custom quests too!

Update 0.84 - New mobs and more

Hello,

A new update was released today, here is the changelog:

- New mob: Skeleton (mostly in Snow and Desert biomes)


- New mob: Rhino (mostly in Desert biomes)


- Improved all mobs AI: better pathfinding, special attacks for Golems and Skeletons
- Sharks will now attack you if you touch them
- New Healing power (combine Fire, Electricity, Frost and Wind to use it)
- Health regeneration is now slower, so you should really use the Healing power :p
- It is now possible to update schematics you created on the Steam Workshop
- You can now save your custom servers IP in the multiplayer screen
- Creative Inventory can now display more custom items
- Other bug fixes

A new update was released today, introducing a lot of new scripting options for custom items, weapons, and powers!

  • timer sets a timer to call a function after some time
  • raycast cast a ray to find the first block in the looking direction
  • display shows messages with custom style on screen
  • ...

Other news:



  • You can now update your custom items/weapon on workshop
  • Effects now follow the item correctly (for example you can create a Fire Sword, see below)

Update 0.82 - Golems, multiplayer bug fixes

Hello,

A new update was released today, here is the changelog:

- New mobs, you can now encounter some Stone Golems and Ice Golems, they don't have all their special attacks yet but they are still already quite dangerous.



- Improved the wolf
- Changed how mobs spawn in the world.
A lot of work is planned on mobs, this is only the beginning!

- Added some new trees and ruins (thanks to wolfgar7474)
- Improved the Ice biome
- Corrected some important bugs with the "Play with friends" and multiplayer modes

Update 0.81 - Lights and other news

Hello,

A new update was released today, here is the changelog:
- torch, lamps, fireball etc. now produce light (only with graphics on High Quality for the moment)
- you can now run faster using the Shift key (the key bind can be changed)
- new blocks: Black Cloth Fabric, Purple Cloth Fabric
- added options to edit Effect, Text and Light in Item/Weapon creation menu
- added Crafting option in Item/Weapon creation menu (still work in progress)
- fixed a few bugs
