All Quiet Roads 4743

Version 3.03 - One Way Road Patch

One way streets no longer slow down when entering and leaving neighborhoods.

This patch also repairs,

  • Fills holes that were in the Paris map.
  • Allows one way roads to maintain speed when crossing a simple road on an overpass.
  • Increases the button size for bulk erasure options. (making them readable!)
  • Bulk erasing roads does not prematurely disconnect roads from neighborhoods.

Version 3.01 - Minor Bug Fixes

Repaired three minor bugs:

  1. Vehicles no longer avoid a very specific small number of bridges made in a prior session of the game.
  2. The Fast Forward effect should now always end at 500.
  3. Attempting to show neighborhood governance right as a reward decision appears does not freeze the game.

Version 3.0 - Tokyo!

Version 3 has a variety of changes in addition to adding Tokyo as a playable city.

Version 3 changes include:

  • Added Tokyo!
  • More information in leaderboard.
  • Three new Settings options:

    1. Option to disable automatically selecting the next available road type.
    2. Option to automatically put barricades on new neighborhoods.
    3. Option to automatically put up No Thru Traffic signs on new neighborhoods.

  • Circular danger indicator around red neighborhoods.
  • Numerous minor bug fixes.

Enjoy playing version 3!

...development continues...

Version 2.37 - Minor Bug Fixes

The fanciest tasks in castle spires,
Are the loneliness dreamt in green fields
Where iconoclastic creative desires
Are blunted by massive shields.
Alone at court is the typical fate
For nobles with some fatigue
Or, those who choose to shun the state
And yield to court intrigue.
To venture afield without a king
Is like an hourglass low on sand
The joy of lightness is ex-cit-ing
Until the food is out of hand.
My wish is still to explore some more,
Because so much is left to do.
But though this love was not a chore,
Soon I must say ado.

Another city was in development and I hope to finish it off in the coming days. Thank you to RCE for the video he made. It gave me hope. I've been unsuccessful at enticing any other major influencers to make a video. Hopefully, some day, someone will reveal the explanatory "easter egg" in the game.

Version 2.36 - Smaller Memory Footprint

Several memory management changes have been made to allow AQR4743 to run on a broader range of hardware. The downside of this current version is a noticeable pause when entering a city map. In time, this pause will get covered by a loading progress bar so that the game doesn't look frozen.

Version 2.35 - Two One Ways Become One Freeway

One way roads work much as they did previously except that now vehicles travel along one-way roads at freeway speeds! Additionally, if you try to change the direction of a one-way road without first erasing the road it will transform the road into a freeway.

If you really want to change the direction of a one-way road, then erase the old road first. Build the new road in the opposite direction after the old one-way road is gone.

Many of the city item exchanges are updated to convert freeway tiles into two one-way tiles. That new exchange allows you to get back any one-way tiles consumed by conversion to freeways.

Version 2.34 - Bug fixes and minor features

Fixed a number of small bugs, including the progress markers sometimes appearing squished. Also added a tooltip for barricades so that it is a little more obvious what they do.

Version 2.33 - No Erratic Highway Speeds

This fixes a long standing bug where vehicles experienced seemingly random road speeds.

Sometimes the speed of a previous road that was erased and replaced affected the speed of the new road. While I'm sure that this bug allowed for some lovely exploits those exploits are now over. Roads, Freeways, and One Ways all act at their intended speed limits.

It's highly likely that one-way roads will be increasing to freeway speeds in an upcoming release.

Version 2.31 - Detached Neighborhoods Less Bossy

The new visual that warns of neighborhoods with no roads was spamming the display far too often. Now, it notifies once, and each additional notification for the same neighborhood is delayed by an increasing amount of time. It still pesters the player, but hopefully it is less annoying.

Version 2.30 - New Look For Paris

Paris was updated to a topography based color scheme similar to New York and London.
