An exciting update on Ambition: A Minuet in Power
Hello everyone!

Hope you're all doing well. It's been a while since our last update. We've been working hard to bring Ambition: A Minuet in Power to you later this year, and we're excited to announce that we now have a new partner to help us get through these final stretches of development.

We've signed with Iceberg Interactive, an indie game publisher who can help us with all sorts of stuff like marketing and Q&A so that we can focus on... well, developing the game!



And that's not all! Our incredible composer, John Robert Matz, has shared an exclusive song from the official Ambition soundtrack. Need more classical music in your life? We've got you covered, just click here to listen!

You'll be hearing more from us Soon™, we're working on some very exciting things. We can't wait to show you the next big step in Ambition's development!

The Artist Statement
Joy Manufacturing Co. is a small team mainly based out of San Francisco (though we're distributed across the world, at this point). We focus on crafting games that tell interesting stories which aren’t being told elsewhere in the world of games. The core of our studio is composed of veterans of the mobile and social game industry who grew dissatisfied with its metrics driven approach to all elements of production. We wanted to make something that appealed strongly to specific audiences, rather than something that appealed broadly but shallowly to everyone. We also all happened to be in the same D&D group, and have honestly spent more time screaming at each other over that game than we have while working on our own game.

'Ambition: A Minuet in Power' is a game about soft power, dangerous romance, and intrigue in a country that is on the verge of both collapse, and bloody revolution. We never really intended to make a topical game, but it's admittedly starting to feel like we managed to do so by accident.

In Ambition, you are not a warrior, spy, or king, but a woman who is seeking a better life than the one her humble hometown could provide. It's a story that is fun, dark, and intriguing. It's also a story that I think many, in these perilous times of ours, might find invigorating. Just because one is not powerful, doesn't mean that they are powerless. Power, much like love, has many different forms.

Ambition is our studio's first title, and its production has honestly been a result of both continuous hard work, and absolutely miraculous moments. After our successful Kickstarter Campaign we had the honor of being nominated for the 'Best Style' category in the 2019 Bit Awards, as well as presenting as part of the Indie Megabooth at PAX East 2020. In fact, at PAX East 2020, we were nominated as one of the 'Hidden Gems of PAX East' at one of the panels, as well as being one of Ars Technica's 'Top Indie Games of PAX East 2020'. It's been equal parts exciting, and positively terrifying.
