All units now have a Health bar and a Food bar. If a unit is missing health, they get get food from a unit an part of the food becomes health.
if a unit is missing food, they go take it from a replete ant or the queen. A unit cannot work if it has 0 food.
The game can be speed up 3 times.
Saving/loading is 100% done

The game still has a bug here or there, but it's playable! Most of the bugs a specific situations like, the player jumps over the fence if he climbs rocks and trees.
Alpha testers are killing, by the way!!! They are really helpful

Alpha has Started
Alpha has launched and the feedback is very positive!
I'm having a really good time exchanging and communicating with testers.
So far, I got people I know trying out the game. At Some moment I will switch to beta and invite more players. Players who are helping me out are going to have their names in the credits.
The game keeps growing! I'm implementing a lot of new ideas and past suggestions in the game.
THINGS LIKE:
- Units now have a health bar AND a food bar. In nature ants store food in their abdomen that they can after share with other ants that are in need. When a worker brings back food to the colony, he finds a replete or the queen and gives the food in the storing ant. This food is later use to get health back or use to feed the eggs and larva.
- The player can only see his colony when underground. I added a very nice fog that matches the underground that prevents form seeing to infinity. The player can also only zoom out as far as he as dug + a reasonable player distance.
- The player can start Quests! There's a Panel that allows to start different quests. Things like : Summon 3 spiders and kill them in 3 minutes, Or : prevent all beetles from reaching the other side. Funs stuff!!
- A very descriptive Tutorial allowing new players to fully grasp everything that can be done. It's a step by step tutorial with unlockable zones.
WORK IN PROGRESS

- balance the economy
- 90 % of saving/loading has been completed. Not certain of i will allow eggs to be saved, because of cheating.
- Sound and music is at 0%. Im still looking for a good soundtrack, unit and ambient sounds have been found and they sound very good.

Second Month of Work

This Month,
I did a lot of work this Month... on stop of being tremendously good looking!!
The game is now network ready, two players can build their colony and each ant created is not controllable by the opposing player. I made sure to make it secure. Basically preventing any weird person from trying to control non-authorited game object.
Digging is also replicated on both sides. When a Dig action has been commanded, some ground "blocks" are created and the players needs to clean his colony if he wants to dig further in the direction. The player needs to first set a zone where he would like ants to drop dirt blocks and the "Cleaning " will start.
(Player needs to in FPS view to dig his colony.).
At the moment ants don't dig alone, player needs to expand his colony and workers will come "Clean".
I programmed the ground blocks to be controllable only by the player who dug them also. I think that it could cause game logic issues if any player can contro digging dirt blocks form opposing nest in an advance game.

I also replaced the dummy ants i was using with some ants i found. These are unofficial, it's to show everyone what it would look like.

Player starts with a queen in First person view, than you decide where you want your colony and you dig a first tunnel.
Once you decided what will be the first room, you can start creating workers
Worked automatically start to create a pheromone map.
If pheromones are near each other and nothing is between them ( "wall" ), they become linked. This is done recursively, unlinked pheromone can become linked at any time a new pheromone is being linked near by.
Workers follow a path or if they reach the end, they start adding pheromones on the map.
If a line of linked pheromone touch a food source, the linked pheromone line become green.
If a line of pheromone is green, ants will follow that line until they reach a good source
Worked after bring back food parts to the queen to feed her
Once food pile is empty, the pheromone link becomes grey again.

Ant Queen 3D is on the move 🙀
I'm happy to let you all know that I'm working on the new version of ant queen!!!
So far,
-It's going to be in full 3D! I might have found a 3D artist that will make 3D ants.
I'm thinking of having 3 different type of ants. ( not certain what ants it's going to be)
-I'm working on a 3D voxel terrain where the players can actually dig their colony. Like mine craft but not blocks, it's really terrain morphing. Pathfinding is hard but I'm getting there.
-It's a network multiplayer game 1vs1, but it could be maybe be 2vs2. First 1vs1!
-The game style will be a mix between RTS top view and a FPS. You will actually take control of an ant and walk in the map or control many units from top view.
-There will be a pheromone system. Exemple, after having kill a spider, you will take control of an ant and place a pheromone trail for the colony to the food. Once a link is created, ants will start to follow the path and move towards the food source

Ant Queen Futur - Multiplayer
Dear players,
I would like to let you all know that i'm presently learning the magic of Multiplayer video gaming. A big demand from players was to have a multiplayer mode where you can play agains other players!
This last 3 months i have been working, learning the multiplayer platform and making a new game. The reason for the update break of Ant Queen. I really had to take a break from working on this projet.
Making an RTS game is THE most difficult game to programme and making an Online Multiplayer RTS is just programming set to God Mode. I'm planning on finishing the game i'm working on - Aetherios - and after that Restart from scratch Ant Queen ( 3D ) and having it be a solid multiplayer game.
