First of all we want to say thank so much to all of you guys who have been waiting for our game, Aquaculture Land. Just like the title said, we finally released Aquaculture Land on Steam Early Access. Thank you for your patience and support so far.
Aquaculture Land came when we were finding a dead end while making Aquaponics Life. One of the reasons we were making Aquaponics Life was because Aquaponics farming concept was booming at that time and we haven't seen games that use the concept. Because we focus on management games, so we decided to make a management game with the concept of "Aquaponics". But in the midst of making Aquaponics Life, we found a dead end. We find it difficult to show the core of the aquaponics concept from the game Aquaponics Life. We had several times changed the view and art style of the game but still found a dead end. We feel the concept of "Aquaponics" is still too big. So, why we not going for smaller one?
That's where we decided to breakdown the concept to be smaller and sparked the idea to use the concept of "Aquaculture" as the core game. Because we will create a management game simulation, we need to collect valid data about how to do aquafarming and how the business is. We also learned from aquaculture experts and finally decided to hold Aquaponics Life development and start making Aquaculture Land.
Aquaculture Land is a freshwater aquafarming management game with sandbox style mechanic and 2D pixel art visual design. Player will act as a businessman that runs a freshwater fish farm. They will manage all things related to fisheries, produce some high-quality products, fulfill the needs of customers to get benefits, and develop the business.
Learning from our previous games, we began to realize that the role of the community or player in making a game was so important. The game that we felt had fulfilled the player's expectations turned out to be still lacking. After going through various considerations, we decided to bring Aquaculture Land to Steam Early Access. We feel Steam Early Access is the right place to get suggestions and feedbacks from the community so that our game can continue to grow and meet player expectations later on.
This is the first time we released a game in early access state. At first, we were hesitant to do it. But because we saw enthusiasm from the community and support from all of you, we decided to try Steam Early Access.
In this early access state, there is only a "Free mode" mode where you can make your own farm and manage your business without any quests or anything. You can already play Core Loops gameplay such as building ponds, nurturing fish, harvesting fish, and selling fish. And as usual if you have suggestions or feedback, feel free to let us know. You can tell us on the discussion thread.
This is just the beginning for Aquaculture Land. In this Steam Early Access we want to grow together with the community. We want to make this game become a game that not only meet our player expectations, but also something that we build together with the community.
We will not participated in the Summer Sale. But don't worry, we are giving you a launching discount! We will set the discount to 10%! This is one of our way to say thank you to all of you who always support us.
Last but not least, we hope you enjoy our game and please keep supporting us from now on :)
After all that devlog about pond, fish, and farm things, now we finally will talk about the business. Maybe this is gonna be the last pre-early access devlog because tomorrow, June 7, 2019 will be the release date for Aquaculture Land on Steam Early Access, yay!!
Okay, back to devlog. Today we will talk about market and customer order. There are two ways to sell fish from your farm, through customer orders or sell them directly to the market.
Sales through the market or even through customer orders have their own advantages. And that choice will also determine which fish we will breed.
If you choose to sell through the market, you need to pay attention to the market price chart. Which fish has a higher price and which fish has a lower price. It should be noted that market prices will always change, so make sure you sell your fish when it's on the highest price.
Sales through customer orders are easier than selling directly to the market. The selling price and which fish we have to breed are clearly in accordance with the customer order. We just choose which order is the most suitable for the situation of money to treat fish and of course the most profitable for us.
Besides that, every time we successfully fulfill or complete an order, we will get an exp point. This exp point is used to raise our level and if we reach a certain level, we can unlock new types of fish.
For types of fish that can be sold, both in customer orders and markets, will adjust to the unlocked fish.
We’ll end today’s devlog here. How do you guys think about this way of selling fish?
Just like before, feel free to give us some feedbacks and suggestion in the comment section below or in the discussion.
Hope you guys have a beautiful day. See you tomorrow :D
Cheers!
Pre-Early Access Devlog 05 (Feeding and Harvesting)
Hello guys :D
Long time no see. How’s your weekend?
Back again with Aquaculture Land pre-early access devlog. Today we will talk about feeding and harvesting. Let’s check it out :D
Feeding your fish is a must. Beside you need to check other status like dissolved oxygen, pond density, or fish waste, you need to feed your fish regularly to keep them stay alive. A food indicator (emoticon) will appear when your fish is hungry so you will know the right time to feed them. Remember, food will also produce food waste which will affect your pond status. You can feed your fish manually or you can set your worker to feed them automatically.
You already keep the pond in best condition, you already feed your fish when they’re hungry, after all that nurturing thing, now it’s time to harvest your fish. Before that, you should take a note that you can only harvest level 2 fish. Actually you can wait a little longer to make them bigger but as soon as you had a level 2 fish, you can harvest your fish immediately. You can choose between harvest all your fish or just harvest the selected one.
A tips after harvesting your fish, if your pond have a really kind of bad status, instead of add more equipments to make it better (for the next fish), you can drain your pond and fill it with a new water. Your pond status will be as good as new pond.
Okay guys, that will end our today’s devlog. How do you guys think? If you have suggestions or feedbacks, as always feel free to tell us in the comment section below or in the discussion thread.
Hope you guys have a great weekend, see you :D
Cheers!

Pre-Early Access Devlog 04 (Fish and Status)
Hello :D
How are you?
We will talk about fish and it’s status this time. Fish is one of the core element for Aquaculture Land. Most of your time will spend for raising fish and trying produce the best quality of it.
In Aquaculture Land, there are several kinds of fishes you can raise. Not only fish, but you can also raise clam, shrimp, snail, crayfish, oyster, and others. For the current state, there are 12 kinds of fishes and several variants from each of it. You can raise all of that fishes. But, in the beginning of the game, there will be only several of fishes you can raise. You can unlock the rest of it as time goes by and some conditions are met.
Fish has some kinds of status. Dissolved oxygen, pond density, noise tolerance, fish waste, and others. Each fish has different status condition. There is fish that need pond with good dissolve oxygen, while some can live in pond with less dissolved oxygen. All these status will affect the condition of the fish. So, make sure to always check the status of your fish, okay ;)
I think we’ll end today’s devlog here. Raise some fish are challenging but so exciting at the same time. If you guys have some suggestion or feedbacks about today’s devlog, feel free to let us know. You can write it on the comment section below or on the discussion.
Back to pre-early access devlog for Aquaculture Land. Today, we’ll talk about pump and generator, the basic pond equipment you need the most.
In the last devlog we had already talk about how to build a pond and add some commodities into it. But if you only leave the commodities like that, they won’t last long. You will need some equipments for your pond to make them stay healthy and survive for a long time, or at least until they are big enough to be sold.
The first equipment you need are pump. Pumps are needed to make sure your pond have enough oxygen. Don’t forget to check the pump status, because if you choose the wrong one, that’ll affect your commodity health.
After you put pump on your pond, you will need a generator to turn it on. Generators are needed to provide the electricity for the pump. There are kinds of generator there, just like pump, don’t forget to check it’s status before you choose because it will affect the commodity too. A generator has some range of electricity area (each generator have different range). Make sure your pump is covered within the electricity area when you place your generator.
It’s a little bit tricky to choose pump and generator for your pond. It’s not only to look for the benefit you get from those things (such as oxygen produced, range of electricity area, cost, etc.) but also you need to look for the impact from those things to your pond status and commodity status (such as noisy produced) because it can affect your commodity health. So, choose it carefully :D
We’ll end today’s devlog here. How do you guys think about this feature?
Just like before, feel free to give us some feedbacks and suggestion in the comment section below or in the discussion.
We’re back again with Aquaculture Land pra-early access devlog. And today, we’ll talk about how to build your pond. Pond is one of the most important thing in the game. Because pond will be place for your fish or other commodities to live in.
You can design your pond whatever you want. You can make a very large pond, a small one, or even you can make your own unique pond. It’s all yours. But remember to always check your money and space for pond equipments (We’ll skip the discussion about pond equipments in a different post :D ).
Building Pond
So, if you want to build a pond, first you must click the shovel icon. Click on the empty field, then move your cursor to draw the shape of your pond. Click again to finish and your pond blueprint is ready to build. . You’ll be shown the price of the pond based on how large your pond will be. After that, your worker will do his job to finish the pond.
After that, you need to fill the pond with water. To do that, click the water button, then there will be some types of water you can choose. Different type of water will have a different effect for the healthiness of the fishes. Choose one of them, then click it to your empty pond.
Finally, now you can put your fish there. There are other types of commodities other than fish too, like molluscs and crustaceans. Pick one of them and then click it to your water-filled pond. Please note that some commodities are sold in group, check them first so you don’t click too much.
Extending Pond
The number of fish you put in a pond and the size of the pond itself will affect the pond density. Some types of commodities don’t really like a crowded pond, so sometimes you will need a larger pond. You can always build a new pond with a larger size, or you can extend your existing ponds too. Other than that, by extending your pond, you can say goodbye to your old boring square pond.
Okay, that’s it for our second pra-early access devlog. So, what do you guys think? Any suggestion or feedback about how to make your pond? Just leave it on comments section below or you can post on Steam community discussion.
See you on the next devlog and please keep supporting us :)
Cheers!

After roughly six months in development, Aquaculture Land will finally out on Steam! Based on our experience, we learned that feedback and suggestion from communities are important for us to make our game better. Therefore, we will release Aquaculture Land as Early Access first, so players can play the game and tell us what they think about it. We want the game to be able to simulate a freshwater aquaculture business experience, while still fun to be played.
In the current state of the game, it core features have been implemented already. You will at least be able to create ponds, put some equipment to support it, nurturing fishes, and then sell them. There are some planned features to be implemented in our list before we feel it is ready to be released as full version. And while we are working to implement them, we want you to be able to play and test the current version of the game, so we can make sure if we are on the right track.
We will update the game frequently if new feature has been added. We will always try our best to make sure there will be no game-breaking bugs on each update, but please bear with us if the worst happen.
We planned to stay on Early Access for approximately four months, but it may still be changed if there are some exciting features that need to be added later. The price for Aquaculture Land may be updated along the way based on players' feedback or if a big improvement has been made.
We will read every feedback from you, so please don't hesitate to tell us what you think about it. We hope you enjoy the game!
