Hi all, this update brings 3 types of new insects or their behavior into the game.
First is the ants swarm roaming through the jungle and beach. It will destroy any food it will find - fruits, vegetables, coconuts, meat and even animal corpses (inclusive those in traps), leaving just bones behind them. Ants swarm can cause small damage to player by biting. The only protection against it is to set up fire that the ants will try to avoid and hope for the best.
Wild bees hives are getting swarms as well. If player comes to close, they will release a wild bees swarm that will attack and follow player for a while. So going few meter away from hive is no more enough.
Last - completely new insect are mosquitos. Mosquitos swarm are present in swamp. They can bite you and cause malaria illness in future. Currently malaria is indicated on player HUD but has no effect yet on player. It will come within future updates. To prevent getting sting by mosquitos player can craft cream from animal lard and mint. Or to find repellent in washed up crates on beach.
Few words for future development.
A new Unreal Engine version 5.1 was released and I need to check the compatibility of the game first. I want to also test the new UE5 World Partition before working on new maps, so I can decide if to use it or not, before starting to work on them. Additionally I found a new nice water plugin that I am considering to replace the original water with. Needs also lot of testing and implementation as well. And not least - I need to test the new UE5 IK system prior adding new animations I have available.
Hi, done some changes players requested lately: 1) Energy Circle now shows - calories available light green - calories to digest dark green 2) Added Shield Icon to represent Repellent: Visible only if repellent is active. Effect does loose in time. Will be used against Mosquitos to prevent Malaria in incoming "Killer Insects" Update 3) Inventory can be closed by Esc key (key assigned for Menu)
New Unreal Engine version 5.1 was announced.
Will continue to work on fixes. Also working on first map adjustments.

Update 0.51.003 Fix
Hi all,
thank you for your patience, now I am finally starting to address underwater process, that was heavily mentioned in feedback and reviews.
With transition to Unreal Engine 5 and to Lumen Global illumination direct lightning, the old postprocess was completely broken and other approach was needed.
So I had to rework how the whole lightning and postprocess was used in game. Ocean underwater New lightning and postprocess is now prepared. Still needs some work - the distance visibility is to high. Added shadows back for corals and seaweed. Made some new features - low breath will result to low colors, and blur. So you are warned to surface and catch some air. I might just keep this and remove the breath icon. Considering to do the same for stamina icon.

Evening:
Indirect lightning Had to completely make different approach to lightning during evening/night. Character should be now more visible when standing in shadows or during night, making night time more enjoyable. Please keep in mind the night is speed up 8x. Or use Straw Bed (which is easy to craft) for those who want to completely skip it and wake up on morning sunrise.
Important: Photomode or some 3rd party overlays like active Nvidia Shadowplay when recording or highlights cause indirect lighting to disappear. This might be some UE5 Lumen issue or even DirectX. Will investigate further.
Clouds Added clouds back to game. Will hook them back to weather control for rain and storm later. Clouds shadows are turned off due high performance costs.
Camera Fixed toggle between FFP/TPP Distance of TPP camera is not reset by sprinting anymore - thanks again for feedback
Leather Raw leather is connected to lightning intensity. There was an issue as UE4 intensity values were different, hopefully its fixed now.
Other Issues Ambient life - such butterflies makes obstacles for character movement. Will try to remove that. Rain effect is now visible. Storm effect is old and sucks. Low FPS on pound area...

Hi, just update to adjust and fix some issues connected to transfer to UE5 and some player feedback
- removed food and stomach icons from HUD as they were confusing players, considering character to be hungry. Reordered the rest of icons - Changes to Lightning. Done some changes to new UE5 Lumen setup. There should be more indirect light. Hardware raytracing should is now more supported. Ocean tide was causing a huge drop in performance, so I had to lower its reach. - Photomode Postprocess was transferred to UE5, so you can use it again and I have allowed Advanced mode in Photomode again.
Tried to fix bug, when item on ground - such as skinned animal was not deleted from world (this happened also at basebuilding). It is hard to test it, would really appreciate feedback, if this bug was removed all still persists.
I have not adjusted the underwater postprocess to UE5 yet. Also hair physics, seems not to work in game, even it does in editor.

0.51 Naked & Scared Update
Hi all,
its hot summer here and Steam Survival Event running, so an Ideal time to get naked.
So current update officially enables full nudity in game. It can be set in Game settings.
I will let you explore it yourself and mention other important changes in game.
With recent change to Unreal Engine 5 as one of the first game available to players on this engine, I needed to change old obsolete UE4 VFX to new Niagara system.
So VFX for footsteps, based on different terrain or water splashes when swimming were replaced. Same goes for firearms shot impacts, depending on material they hit. Blood effect was added as well, will be adjusted to the size of animal in future. Ambient VFX life such as butterflies, flies, dragonflies, fireflies were replaced as well and I have added bats to the cave (wait there i a cave?)
I hope to add new bees, mosquitos and fireants soon as well.
Additionally changes were made to Ray type of fish. I have replaced stingray, mantas with new ones and added 3 more ray fish types. The reason was the new animations, that will make the fish turning more smooth and natural. So only larger animal, that is still missing turning animations is komodo dragon. Also the way how animals were spawning was changed. They should not be more stuck on spawn.
I would like to appreciate, how the community started to use recently added Photomode and Exploration mode. I see very nice screenshot in our game discord channel and this is one of my favorites bellow.

Hi, pushed fix 0.50.003 last weekend. Unfortunately had to remove Nanite as it does not support materials used with foliage and water which game map consists mostly off.
Fixed motion of several animals - turtles, rabbits, frogs.
Working on replacement and new VFX based on Niagara System for Unreal Engine 5.0, as game uses previous soon to be deprecated VFX system Cascade.
Also planning to replace some fishes - manta, stingray with new with better animations.

Hi, fix for some issues connected to lightning after switching to UE5 Lumen: - fixed light in Inventory - Clothing tab - so character is visible - fixed lightning in cave
Known issues: Character hair physics does not work. even it is working properly in UE Editor Animals tend to teleport fort and back - might be UE Character movement issue

Updated to UE5 Nanite and Lumen
Hi just enabled new Unreal Engine techology - Nanite and Lumen. Game should now run better, but they are still parts with performance drops, especially around the pond looking towards snowy mountains.
