We are really proud of our work, because as indie developers, the challenge was hard. Since the start of our early access in October, and over the last months since November, we released bugfixes, reworks of existing mechanics, and pathfinding fixes. The last one was the english voice acting, and it's finally done!
We also want to thank everyone involved in this project, the team, relatives, and YOU! Our awesome community gave us the means to keep working and finish all of this! Digital Pourpre Studio will continue to release bugfixes from reports in the following months, don't worry. But Arise from Shadows is now content filled, and we are already working on another project!

Arise from Shadows - Patch 1.03
Cave Crawlers, here is the third post-release patch, we are still investigating some issues that need time to resolve, but here are the fixes and additions made:
Bug fixes: - The text during the intro cutscene will no longer fit into the floor/walls depending on the orientation of the camera - The intro cinematic will no longer play again if you save and load your game in the tutorial scene - The edges of the Controls category were too dark and hid the menu bar, this is no longer the case - A bug causing the toad's damage area to not be equal to its visual index is resolved. - The regeneration of damage taken in the light will be done gradually. - Some shadows areas in zone 3 (aerial part) did not allow the player to regenerate - The visual cues for taking progressive damage in the light will begin as soon as damage is taken, they arrived very late which made the mechanic difficult to understand - Some checkpoints have been added to prevent the player from having to go back really far - A breach in zone 1 and one in zone 3 (aerial part) have been blocked
Known issues: - Unfortunately, in some cases players can still encounter Death Chains, we are working on this to reduce their number. - Weird camera rotation may be applied if you save in animal form and then come back (to fix this, until we fix the issue, you can unpossess the creature/possess a new one) - Some voices and subtitles may not be correctly synchronized
The demo has been updated with all mentioned fixes. We will come back at the beginning of the year with a new patch, until then, we wish you happy holidays.

Arise from Shadows - Patch 1.02
Cave Crawlers, here is the second post-release patch, beyond the usual fixes related to bugs, the updates at the beginning of the month also bring new features and a rebalancing of those already present:
Additions & balancing: - From now on, players will see a circle delimiting the area of damage that the toad does to them, no more unfair deaths! In addition to that, the toad's light will flicker a little earlier, indicating that we are getting dangerously close to it. - Following feedback, the Dash range has been slightly increased to be a little more permissive. - The tutorial environment has been revised to guide the player a little better. - An increase in the overall light intensity has been made.
Known issues: - Unfortunately, in some cases players may still encounter "DeathChains", we are working on this and reducing their number. - Weird camera rotation may be applied if you save in animal form and then come back (to fix this, until we fix the issue, you can dispossess the creature/regain possession of a new one) - Some voices and subtitles may not be correctly synchronized. - The control scheme in the menu is completely black and blocks the visibility of the options
These additions are also coming to the demo!

Arise from Shadow - Patch 1.01
Cave Crawlers, here is the first post release patch, we're still investigating on some issues that need time to solve, but here are fixes and first additions :
BugFixes :
The player will no longer spawn as a creature in the in-game menu
We fixed a problem where players were unable to unpossess creatures after saving under creature and then loading back
We added the Haptic turn on/off feature
Subtitles will no longer be hovered by HUD indicators (such as sprint/dash)
We balanced the in game voice acting as it was too weak, it now be a lot more audible
We fixed the damage sound taken when hit by light with Axolotl & Rodent, causing them to repeat every frame causing a very loudy weird noise
Known Issues :
Sadly, on some cases, player may still encounter deathchains, we're working on it and reducing their numbers
A weird camera rotation can be applied if you're saving in animal form and then coming back (to solve, until we fix it, you can unpossess the creature / repossessing a new one)
Some voices and subtitles may be not correctly synchronized
The demo will be updated with a new available area replacing the previous one, more restricted, but more passable for players.
The team is still working on other issues in the meantime, just for you to know, we'll deploy a new patch every two weeks, one minor (like this one) and one major, at the beginning of each months. Thank you for your patience!🙏
Final release day! Yay!
Hello cavecrawlers! We are proud to announce the Final Release of Arise from Shadows!
We want to thanks everyone involved in the project, from the early builds to Kickstarter backers, and our small but growing community. Even after a failed Kickstarter Campaign, we managed to get on Steam, and have a playable, enjoyable game. Thanks to all of you, we also managed to get a small but active community, and it means a lot to us at Digital Pourpre.
As you know since the Steam Next fest, and for the next few months, we will be releasing patches and will continue to focus on bugfixes here and there. We still need your feedback on the forums to deploy bugfixes in time. From your benchmarks to your headsets, the more data we get, the more fixes we can make!

CaveCrawlers, we are rolling out an update to Steam, fixing some features:
Fixed an exploit in the form of a bird allowing you to exit the map
Fix and improve the management of loss of life in aerial form
Added missing voice dialogues on some stelaes
Updated shadows and improved the aerial part of Zone 3 (called Feather Way): we still have an issue with shadows only showing on one eye, we are working on it as quickly as possible .

Stelaes
Those weirdly shaped blocks are kinda sentient. Touching them will animate them briefly, and you'll hear wispers from the past.
Old stories long forgotten, testimonies from a long time ago are told trough them. Crafters of those stelaes are long time gone, but some of their tales still live in the stone.
Hidden in the ruined halls of the ancient dwellers, behind strong doors, it's their legacy to the new dwellers from this age. Like you, they didn't see the light of the sun in a long time.
