Arise from Shadows

Nightrunner


Lurking in the shadows, hidden in the bushes, nightrunners are solitary hunters. Preying on small creatures, notably the rat, they walk silently, getting closer before jumping on their prey.

Once they got a prey in sight, they gave him a chase for a bit, and if you don't flee fast, you'll end as their meal.

But even those predator have weaknesses, being sometimes too large to follow the rodents into their nests. Being a quite common predator in the caves, always stay on your guard when you see their movement in the dark.

And when you see their bright blue eyes, RUN!

Canyons and Bugfixes!

Those arid cliffs are the canyons, the only part of the overworld you'll probably see. Once there, the sun will be your main concern. Shadows are scarce, and your only allies will be the birds. Using them to get to the other side of the canyon will be your main objective in this time limited race against the clock.



Getting outside is a challenge, but you'll probably need to get out during your journey. Not every cave gets you deeper, sometimes you need to think outside the box to go deeper!

About future content:

-We finally launched, and we are deploying bugfixes since then.
-The main goal is reworking a little the signs and feedbacks of the possession mechanics.
-Some asked about an English voice acted version, we will probably get a voice actor later, once we fixed most of the bugs reported during the feedback phase.

Hello cavecrawlers!

Today is the big day!

After hammering bugs, small delays, fixing things here and there, we are ready for launch!

We are proud of the almost finished product, and we will fix more bugs with your feedback until the end of early access on November 3rd and beyond.

The OST will come soon on the Store Page, and will be granted to all early adopters.

Steam Next gave us the opportunity to get more and more feedback, and we are already looking back to your new bug reports!

-HTC Vive, Vive Cosmos, Rift/Rift S, Quest, Quest 2, Pico 4 and Valve Index should work correctly now!
-The OST should be here soon, in two weeks at max.
-Your feedback is important, sends all your bug reports, we NEED them!

The Bird

Stuck in front a deep chasm with no where else to go? The birds can give you an hand or, you know a wing...

Flying over the fast emptiness of canyon, free from any sort of danger... except from direct sunlight. You only have limited time flying, because your health drops quickly under the sun. Birds are mostly found on the cliffs near the cave entrances, and easy to spot.



Our birds can also be found in some caves, mosty those connected to the overworld. Maybe there's a reason they are found in both places? They could probably help you reach new paths on your adventures!

Moray Eels



Those bony fishes swim in the deeper parts of the underwaters parts of the caves. Hunting for axolotls and fishes, their predatory instincts fortunately lack the intelligence to check alguaes and the flora.



Using this to their advantage, axolotls can survive another day. Their dark skin allows them to blend into the poorly lit lakes and rivers that sprawls underground. Giving chase to their prey, they swim fast enough to catch even the fastest fishes. Hidding from moray eels is the only chance of survival underwater, so stay sharp!

A small delay before release



Hello Cavecrawlers!

We, at Digital Pourpre Studio are deeply sorry to bring small bad news.

The release is delayed for a few days at maximum, including the OST give away until final release.

The main reason behind this: We pushed one last bugfix version for the Final game and the demo, containing bugfixes for both discovered during the Steam Next Fest. But right now, we are waiting for this version to be review and confirmed for the release.

Our two devs and everyone at the studio is doing is best to bring the game including the OST on the store as soon as possible.

We are sorry for this inconvenience, and are working harder to release the game in a stable and mostly bug free state.

Livestream during Steam Next-Fest !



Hello everyone! We are announcing our participation in the Next Fest!

You can already play our demo on the Steam Page, but also we will be doing two streams during the week! You'll see Romain our main dev exploring some parts of the game you already know from the demo, and some exclusive content from the beta!

Our first stream will be held on the 11th of October, at 6:00 PM CEST, and the second one the 13th of October at 6:00 PM CEST.

This should show you more gameplay and features before our early access release on the 18th of October!
