Free Content Update Out Now: Undead Valley



The Freds have jumped the border in an all-new map!



We are delighted to introduce a brand-new Horde mode map to Arizona Sunshine! Undead Valley takes you to a zombie-infested old transport warehouse-turned-underground casino in close proximity to Sin City, Nevada.

And you haven't even heard the best part: Undead Valley is available entirely free of charge right now.



Originally debuted at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas last January, Undead Valley will have a few surprises in store for even the most hardened zombie apocalypse-veterans among you. Read on below for some survival tips (don't worry, it won't count as cheating)...


  • Undead Valley adds an all-new Horde mode map in a location that you haven't seen before.
  • The key to survival above all else is to keep moving and take advantage of the map's indoor and outdoor areas as well as the verticality it adds to Horde mode.
  • Expand your playground by retrieving keys to locked doors and blowing up obstacles in your way to access new resources and tactical positions.
  • The waves of Freds that you've come to expect in Horde mode have made way for a continuous onslaught of zombies: prepare for the ultimate challenge to test your VR survival skills!

Patch 1.4.8015

Hey everyone, a couple of quick fixes. We hope you're enjoying the new map!

- Fixed various bugs in Old mine map.
- Fixed calibration screen UI bugs.
- Tweaked Room-scale UI Transparency.

New Horde Mode Map Live - The Old Mine

We are pleased to add a new free multiplayer map to the game, the Old Mine.

No longer confined to a set play area, you can now roam the map. Search out ammo, weapons, and health regen as you put together the right combination of resources to survive. The map rewards enterprising players and teams that move around. Resources no longer spawn in a set area, but are found throughout the map. Powerful weapons don't give you the ability to camp as the ammo spawns elsewhere.



Light is now a resource to be managed. How do you deploy flashlights and safety helmets? Can you get to that generator and back alive? Stairs, platforms, and ladders open new strategies for cover and movement, but be on your guard, Fred may have found some new ways to get to you too.



Other Updates:

  • Tweaked locomotion speeds and stamina
  • Added a new hat: Safety helmet with light (only on the Old Mine Horde Mode map)
  • Added mirrored locomotion (aka left handed locomotion)
  • Fixed a bug which prevented the unlocking of achievements that count a certain number of actions
  • Flashlight: you may now change the position of the flashlight using the secondary action button (same as ejecting clips)


We are continuing work on multiplayer content like the previously reported, Undead Valley. After debuting a demo of this map at CES this year, we decided that we needed to do more work balancing the map.

New Horde Mode Map Update

Patch r1.4.7890

Hi all,

We pushed the patch that was on the public test for two weeks live to the main branch in preparation for new builds.

It is a small patch in changes, but unfortunately a large patch in data. This is a result of the engine we are using and the complexity of the project.

This patch includes the following changes:
- Walking locomotion smooth rotation speed is now faster
- The networking matchmaker now has a longer timeout, in cases where loading screens are long this should avoid disconnects.

We have some fixes in the pipeline, including:
- Gun Collect achievement fix
- Locomotion walking speed
- Left-handed locomotion

Patch 1.3.7887 - Locomotion

We are happy to present to you: the locomotion patch! Suggestions were made to add additional locomotion methods and we have been working to get this into the game.

You can now choose a 'walking' locomotion method. There are also a couple of settings you can adjust to tweak it to your needs.

- Fixed a bug with bullet tracers not being shown
- Fixed the bug where audio would break during gameplay

Hi all,

We are happy to present you with the latest patch. We have tried to address all the issues that have been reported since launch. Unfortunately we have not been able to reduce the crashes completely, due to a bug in the engine version we are using. We are in contact with the engine developers and will resolve this asap ( holidays are in the way ). Nevertheless, the crashes should not occur as often.

- The blackhawk gun animations have been fixed, the hand does not hide anymore

- X,Y,A,B all reload the guns now on Touch controls

- The chamber exit of the Forty Cal should now throw empty shells out in a more realistic direction
- Audio settings have been added to the settings screen
- When launching in mixed reality mode, the rendering is now set to Forward so all the quadrants render correctly.
- Explosive barrels are now correctly synced

Campaign


- Zombie flickering should not happen anymore in the Base level
- Apocalyptic mode has received a save file. You can now progress level per level, also ammo placement has been adjusted
- The sniper and minigun can not be saved in a checkpoint anymore as starting equipment

Horde Mode


- If a player disconnects in multiplayer, the sessions is not closed anymore
- In multiplayer the score is shared in the end for all players in the session
- Hamburgers now also regenerate health during intermissions
- The horde mode cartridge now is a single cartridge for both single and multiplayer.
- The extreme lag in later waves when using the shotgun has been fixed
- Fixed the issue where zombies could not find a target when the Flare was thrown by player #4

Single Player Horde Mode and Apocalyptic Mode

Thank you for all your feedback on the game. We developed the game to be as immersive and engaging as we could. While we love to hear about the things that delight you, we also take to heart the things that we can do better. It’s clear from your feedback many of you are not happy with the previously undisclosed modes being available only on certain higher end PCs. You are most important to us, and we hear your comments. We are unlocking these modes immediately to all players, and we hope you enjoy them.

We have recommended and still recommend using the Core i7 in order to maintain a constant 90FPS with advanced physics. We also realize that these chips cost money. We created bonus content that was not advertised as a reward for those of you who took us up on our recommendation.

We wanted you to feel it was worth it, but we also wanted everybody to be able to play these modes eventually. These surprise game modes were meant to be a reward for those players with high-end VR systems who were looking for the most immersive experience possible.

You are most important to us, and we hear and appreciate your comments. We are unlocking these modes to all players immediately via an automatic update, and we hope you enjoy them.

- The CapabilityTester.dll should not give any errors on startup anymore resulting in a black screen
- Other input devices such as steering wheels should not interfere with the input anymore
