Patch Updates v1.200422

Hi Friends!

Armed to the Gears was just updated with some more improvements and fixes.

  • 4K compatibility improved (tutorial hints now scale with hud size configuration);
  • Main Menu Welcome screen added with more information, links and options for new players;
  • Some audio glitches should now be less frequent.

Version 200411b Patch Notes

Hi Friends!

The patched version was moved from Beta to the Official release. Here's what's new:

  • Waves should now stop at number 50 (endless waves bug fixed);
  • Aspect ratio is now unlocked for super-wide screens;
  • Main-menu access bug has now some increased input detection.

Some patches in the beta section

Hi friends!

Due to reports of a (apparently kind of rare and difficult to reproduce) bug in the headquarters menu where it was impossible to open the sub-menus, I have made some changes in the code and uploaded to the Beta section for testing. To activate, right-click Armed in the steam library list, select Properties, open the Betas tab and opt for "beta -" in the dropdown list.

In defensive mode, waves now should not surpass number 50.

This patch also unblocks the aspect ratio and window resizing for players using super-wide monitors.

Please let me know if you are still having any problem related to the issues above. I'm doing my best to make the game work smoothly for everyone, but I can't test every possible hardware and software combinations out there without your help.

Armed to the Gears Released!

Hi friends!

I'm happy to announce that Armed to the Gears is finally fully released.

I know, it's been a few months since the last update, during that period we were preparing the promotional material for this release, as well as collecting more feedback and bug reports.

Armed to the Gears has reached a point where all the extra features that weren't originally planned but we wanted to have anyway, like multiplayer capability, content editors, expansible weapons, maps and customization, and so on, are going to require too much core redesign and code rewriting. For this reason, our intention is to begin working on a new separate project, with a lot more experience and build for those features from the ground up.

If you like this game and would like to see a new, fresh version of it with every feature and content it deserves, please consider supporting it. If the community makes it viable for this dream to come true, I can promise I'll do my best to bring it as soon as possible.

I can't express how much I appreciate everyone's feedback and support during the development. You guys made a small and unpretentious project turn into, who knows, with enough hard work and perseverance, an ongoing franchise!

Fixes and Patches Update

Hi friends!

Another update was just released. In this update, some more improvements on the defense mode waves, map selector now indicates the achievements won, and the workshop went thru another round of adjustments.

A new secret map and enemy!

Hi friends!

In this special update, a new final boss level was added. This map can't be accessed from the headquarters, you must beat the last defense map. It should be quite a challenge to beat the A00 Megafortress Mech! Please note that this is the first test on this feature, some fixes and improvements are coming up, including a steam achievement for beating it.

But that's not all there is to this update:

F1 now shortcuts to "Update" and the turrets start on F2 to F7;
Initial armor and fairings description in the robot workshop are fixed;
you can call the next wave on defense maps even if there are still 15 enemies left;
Improved 50th wave detection for beating defensive missions;
"End game" victory scene added;
Some explosions audio fixed;

Achievements fixes and more

Hi friends!

This update fixes some important issues with the achievements and "next mission" button, but that's not all:

  • Mech workshop interface revamped for easier visualization;
  • Defense maps "Call Wave" is improved;
  • A reactor had some frustrating steps that made it hard to reach, should now be easier;
  • NPCs had some dialog updates;
  • Purchase Ammo and Fuel are now limited to 999;
  • Corrected some typos;
