Today, we have a new vehicle for you that’s coming to Armored Warfare in February. You’ve been asking for powerful scouts to complement the Sphinx and Jaguar on high Tiers and boy do we have one for you. Enter the Typhoon-VDV!
But first, a bit of history as usual.
The history of the Typhoon family of armored vehicles began with the requirement for a modern multi-purpose wheeled platform with unified components for the Russian military. The history of the project began with cooperation between several major companies, including UralAZ, KamAZ, YaMZ (engine), NII Stali research institute (armor) plus a few more.
The project was launched in 2010 although the attempts to design this kind of platform go back to the 1980s and the Soviet Union (before its collapse). The 1990s were not a good time for Russia and many projects (including this one) were cancelled due to budget cuts only to be re-started in the 2000s and 2010s when the economic situation improved.
The program was primarily launched to replace the aging unprotected trucks and other means of infantry transport and the first prototypes that came from it in 2011 (Typhoon-U and Typhoon-K) were 6-wheelers. These are highly modular with many different configurations. The lighter version of the platform with 4 wheels came a few years later, in 2015, with the KamAZ-53949 Typhoon 4x4 (also unofficially referred to as “Little Typhoon”).
The KamAZ K-4386 Typhoon-VDV is a further development of the “Little Typhoon”. It is an air-droppable protected special-purpose vehicle (ZASN-D) for the Russian Airborne Forces. In its basic modification, the vehicle is equipped with the 32V01 Spitsa remotely controlled combat module with a 30mm 2A42 autocannon and a PKTM machine gun. It can also be equipped with a 9K111-1M Konkurs-M anti-tank missile system with two launch tubes.
The number of built Typhoon-VDV vehicles is unknown. The vehicle underwent the state trials in 2020 and allegedly entered official service. An export version is offered since 2021. It has seen combat since 2022 but the amount of vehicles built is unknown, likely quite low.
In Armored Warfare, the Typhoon-VDV will be a Tier 10 Premium AFV.
Typhoon-VDV will be a classic scout, on which you can expect solid mobility and firepower but low armor. Its main task on the battlefield will be to spot enemy targets – but spotting alone wouldn’t make for a fun vehicle to play, which is why the Typhoon has some nasty teeth in the form of:
30mm autocannon comparable in damage output to the T-15
Konkurs-M launcher with two tubes, capable of launching two missiles at once (thermobaric warheads are available)
But that’s not all. In real life, Typhoon-VDV is meant for recon specialists and is packed with advanced equipment and electronics. As such, it serves as a hub for relaying information back to other troops. In Armored Warfare, this is reflected by a special new ability that increases the view range for all vehicles all around it by 30 meters, giving especially scout platoons an edge on the battlefield.
All in all, the vehicle will be ideal not only for pure spotting lovers, but also for players who want to use its firepower to take care of lighter enemies quickly and efficiently.
See you on the battlefield!
Offer: Eastern Bloc Week
Commanders!
Today we’ve prepared the following items for you:
Object 490 Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank
M-95 Degman Tier 8 Premium Main Battle Tank
ZUBR PSP Tier 7 Premium Tank Destroyer
BWP-2000 Tier 7 Premium Armored Fighting Vehicle
Seahawks Loot Crate
Between January 30 and February 6 2025, the following items will be available:
Object 490
The Object 490 Main Battle Tank was an advanced concept from the waning days of the Soviet Union. Designed in the 1980s, it represented a radical departure from the MBT paradigm. Its distinct wedge-like shape, along with the fact that the crew was located in the back, offered unparalleled levels of protection. But the most interesting part of the design was its double suspension paired with two engines, allowing the vehicle to stay mobile even after suffering significant damage. However, the conclusion of the Cold War put an end to this design, along with many other advanced Soviet projects. You can learn more about this vehicle in our dedicated article.
In Armored Warfare, the Object 490 Tier 10 Premium MBT is perhaps the best armored vehicle in the game. It’s a true behemoth that is almost impossible to slow down, let alone knock out, and concentrated effort is required to stop one of these things when encountering them on the battlefield. The combination of extremely thick armor and a powerful 152mm gun makes this tank incredibly deadly, even though these advantages are balanced by its mediocre agility and the fact that its gun is only forward facing. This MBT is ideal for you if you prefer slow, methodical advances while dealing massive amounts of damage with each shot. If you keep your flanks secure, you’ll be all but impossible to stop.
The Object 490 MBT is available in our Web Shop via Loot Crates. Collect 100 blueprint pieces from these crates to obtain the vehicle.
This bundle is available in our Web Shop. It can be accessed it directly in the game by clicking the shopping cart button in the upper left corner of the Garage.
M-95 Degman
The M-95 Degman is an advanced Croatian prototype MBT, developed during the 1990s and 2000s. It is based on the previous Yugoslavian project, the Vihor MBT, which in turn has its roots in the improved T-72M series produced in former Yugoslavia. You can read more about its history in a dedicated article.
In Armored Warfare, the tank is relatively fast and fairly agile while carrying some potent firepower for its Tier. In fact, its owners can choose from two powerful guns:
125mm 2A46 Russian-style smoothbore gun, known from many Russian MBTs
120mm CTG NATO-style smoothbore gun that you know from the Challenger 1 Falcon MBT
It’s worth noting that the 120mm shells have higher penetration values and the gun can also fire Falarick ATGMs while the 125mm gun has higher damage per shot. Both guns will feature good handling as well as overall performance to offset the vehicle’s weakness, which is its mediocre armor. The Degman must rely on its mobility and firepower to survive, making it an ideal vehicle for aggressive, daring players.
This bundle is available in our Web Shop. It can be accessed it directly in the game by clicking the shopping cart button in the upper left corner of the Garage.
ZUBR PSP
The ZUBR was a Czech privately-funded project by PSP Bohemia from the 1990s to develop a successor platform to the aging Soviet-era BMP-series IFVs and various other obsolete specialized vehicles. Even though it was quite advanced for its time, it was ultimately unsuccessful due to the end of the Cold War and the subsequent cuts in European military budgets, including the Czech one. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.
In Armored Warfare, the ZUBR PSP is a Tier 7 wheeled Premium Tank Destroyer. What makes it fairly unique is the fact that you can choose from two different weapon systems for this vehicle:
Cockerill CT-CV turret with 105mm gun
Four-barreled TOW ATGM launcher
Each of these weapons changes the gameplay style of the vehicle considerably and it is up to you, how you configure this powerful machine.
This bundle is available in our Web Shop. It can be accessed it directly in the game by clicking the shopping cart button in the upper left corner of the Garage.
BWP-2000
The BWP-2000 IFV was a Polish attempt from the mid-1990s to develop a replacement for the license-produced BMP-1 in the Polish military, since it was getting obsolete by that point. Its protracted development led to its cancellation at the onset of War on Terror, leaving Poland without a modern tracked IFV to this day. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.
In Armored Warfare, the BWP-2000 is a Tier 7 Premium Armored Fighting Vehicle armed with 60mm cannon as well as a set of ATGM launchers. When it comes to AFV playstyle, the BWP-2000 is definitely more of an infantry carrier and fire support vehicle than a scout due to its large size and powerful armament as well as the ability to deploy Mechanized Infantry. It can take quite a bit of punishment and deal it in equal measure.
This bundle is available in our Web Shop. It can be accessed it directly in the game by clicking the shopping cart button in the upper left corner of the Garage.
Seahawks Loot Crate
The Seahawks Loot Crate is now available. This Loot Crate contains Seahawks Battle Coins and Boosters.
Battle Coins are the primary currency of the Seahawks Battle Path campaign and are used to progress through it and to obtain its prizes.
Battle Coin Boosters are usable only during an active Battle Path and increase your Battle Coin income by 900 percent for two hours.
Please note that you have to obtain the access to a Battle Path to use both items.
This bundle is available in our Web Shop. It can be accessed it directly in the game by clicking the shopping cart button in the upper left corner of the Garage.

Special Gift for New Players: Object 279
Commanders!
We have prepared a special gift for newly opened accounts in the form of Object 279!
In Armored Warfare, the Object 279 is a Tier 5 Premium Main Battle Tank. Gameplay-wise, it’s a slow and ponderous vehicle with excellent armor and a powerful 130mm gun, very suitable for players who prefer firepower and protection over speed and agility. On top of that, the gun has excellent depression and elevation values. However, what makes it truly interesting and unique is its suspension system. The tank has the ability to lower its suspension – now you can squat while driving a tank like a true Slav!
In this squatting position, the tank covers its weakspots better, is harder to spot and has a better aiming time, but it moves and turns significantly slower with its view range lowered as well. The four-track suspension also makes it very hard to immobilize it.
This gift is available for a limited time only – until February 5, 2025. Now’s a great time to start playing Armored Warfare!
See you on the battlefield!
OFFER: Asian week
Commanders!
Today we’ve prepared the following items for you:
Type 99B Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank
Hunter Tier 9 Premium Armored Fighting Vehicle
Pindad SBS Tier 8 Premium Armored Fighting Vehicle
Type 89 Tier 7 Premium Armored Fighting Vehicle
K21 Tier 8 Premium Armored Fighting Vehicle
Tales from the Dark Loot Crate
Between January 23 and January 30, 2025, the following items will be available:
Type 99B
The Type 99B is a fictional improved version of the currently most modern Chinese Main Battle Tank. It was designed as a concept by the Chinese tank community some years ago and we used the concept as a basis for its introduction. However, our version bears significant differences, most notably the Red Arrow missile launcher on the roof. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.
In Armored Warfare, the Type 99B is a Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank. It is fast, agile, and capable of dealing tremendous damage over a short period of time thanks to its turret-mounted thermobaric missile launcher.
This bundle is available in our Web Shop. It can be accessed it directly in the game by clicking the shopping cart button in the upper left corner of the Garage.
Hunter AFV
Another alternative name for this vehicle is NGAFV (or Next Gen AFV), since it belongs to a whole program to replace the obsolete M113 APC in Singaporean service and to operate alongside its predecessor, another indigenous Singaporean IFV called Bionix. Hunter is the name of the production model of this program. The Hunter AFV is the pinnacle of bleeding edge of technology. In this sense, it can be compared to the AS21 Redback and both vehicles share several characteristics, not the least of which being relatively large size. This bulky IFV offers considerable levels of protection and firepower. It is expected to serve in the Singaporean army in large numbers in the near future with its mass-production having recently begun. You can read more about its history in our dedicated article.
In Armored Warfare, the Hunter AFV is a Tier 9 Premium Armored Fighting Vehicle. As its description above suggests, it is a rather standard-sized IFV with good levels of protection and excellent firepower (consisting of a 30mm autocannon and a Spike ATGM launcher). It also features a recently introduced type of armor, NERA. Simply put, NERA is an ablative armor kit that deteriorates whenever it gets hit. In other words, the vehicle starts with excellent protection levels but it will lose some with damage taken as the battle progresses. Apart from that, the vehicle is adequately mobile and quite universal. It can, of course, also deploy Mechanized Infantry.
This bundle is available in our Web Shop. It can be accessed it directly in the game by clicking the shopping cart button in the upper left corner of the Garage.
Pindad SBS
The SBS platform is one of the first domestic armored vehicles developed by Pindad (the largest Indonesian armor producer) for Indonesia and is officially listed as a “light tank”. It was developed sometimes in the early 2010s with some prototypes in different configuration appearing in public in 2014 or so. The variant in the game is a long-range MLRS fire support vehicle with a 122mm multi-barreled rocket launcher. You can learn more about it in our
In Armored Warfare, the Type 89 is a Tier 7 Premium Armored Fighting Vehicle that is capable of not only deploying Mechanized Infantry, but also to destroy its targets at long distances using its powerful guided missiles. It is also fast and maneuverable, but does not feature thick armor.
This bundle is available in our Web Shop. It can be accessed it directly in the game by clicking the shopping cart button in the upper left corner of the Garage.
K21
The K21 is a modern Infantry Fighting Vehicle, designed to replace the K200 series in the Korean Army. It features good protection and a hi-tech weapon system with the "hunter-killer" capability. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.
In Armored Warfare, the K21 is a Tier 8 Premium Armored Fighting Vehicle. In the game, it is an IFV with solid protection and firepower, but also excellent mobility. It carries Mechanized Infantry.
This bundle is available in our Web Shop. It can be accessed it directly in the game by clicking the shopping cart button in the upper left corner of the Garage.

Update 0.250 Now Available
Commanders!
We are happy to announce that the Update 0.250 is now available!
List of Update 0.250 Changes
TOS-1M Changes
In this update, we are addressing the matter of TOS-1M and its gameplay. The vehicle currently has two issues. First, thanks to its armor and the lack of ammo rack it can ride out, deal enormous damage while weathering incoming fire, and hide again for reload. Secondly, the basic 122mm configuration is useless due to its abysmal accuracy. We are therefore introducing the following changes:
Reduced the frontal turret armor of the vehicle (thus creating a large weakspot)
Removed the “unmanned turret” feature
Hard-kill APS now only works in the frontal arc (much like the one on the KF51 Panther)
Increased the accuracy of 122mm rockets
AFT-10 Improvements
The AFT-10 Tier 10 Premium Tank Destroyer has been underperforming for a long time. We are therefore introducing the following changes:
Vehicle’s ATGMs now ignore soft-kill APS
Increased the missile agility from 20 deg/s to 30 deg/s
Increased the camouflage factor from 20% to 30%
Reduced the time between launches from 3.53s to 3s
Reduced the launcher reload time from 34s to 30s
