We continue unveiling the vehicles of the Shadow Protocol Battle Path with the prize that will be the easiest to obtain – the T-64BV Mod.2022 Main Battle Tank.
T-64BV Mod.2022
As we mentioned in the previous article, the Shadow Protocol Battle Path has two themes – the main one is mercenaries and their history. The second one is the past, the present and the future of warfare. The T-64BV Mod.2022 represents the “past” aspect since it is an old vehicle retrofitted to meet the requirements of contemporary battlefields.
But, as usual, a bit of history first.
The T-64BV Model 2022 is another small upgrade to the previous T-64BV Model 2017 Main Battle Tank that, as its name suggests, appeared more or less in 2022. The main improvements include two things – a new machinegun mount for the Laska K-2 machine gun (possibly based on a reverse-engineered Soviet “Utes” machinegun) and enhanced rear protection in the form of cage armor and an additional plate covering its fuel tanks.
T-64BV1K Mod.2022
There is some confusion regarding the features of this vehicle as it is very similar to T-64BV1K, an upgraded command version of the same tank. Both vehicles also seem to share additional rubber flaps covering the turret ERA.
The T-64BV Mod.2022 was produced in unknown (but likely not high) numbers with the most common estimates being between 10 and 30 vehicles.
In Armored Warfare, the T-64BV Mod.2022 will be a Tier 8 Premium MBT.
As you might have noticed already, the T-64BV Mod.2022 is very similar to the earlier T-64BV Mod.2017 but is positioned a Tier higher. To make it viable on Tier 8, we are taking the following steps:
Improved armor (as the vehicle shares the armor with T-64BV Mod. 2017, we will be upgrading the Mod.2017 armor as well) along with additional cage armor elements covering the rear sides
Improved firepower (by using the ammunition available to BM Oplot and an anti-tank guided missile called “Kombat”)
Improved 6TD engines (1000hp in the basic version, 1250hp available via additional progression)
Furthermore, the vehicle will have a passive ability called Advanced Battlefield Management System.
This ability is a nod to the “command” version of the tank mentioned in the historical description above (even though a regular T-64BV does not have such systems on board – we took some liberties here).
The ability is similar to the one used on the T-72M4CZ MBT, but more advanced. It improves your reload speed by 3 percent for every friendly vehicle within 50 meters from you. A full platoon of T-64BV Mod.2022 operating in sync will indeed be a force to be reckoned with!
Otherwise, the vehicle will play in a typical fashion similar to other Soviet, Russian or Ukrainian vehicles, which means it’ll be relatively easy to master and therefore suitable for new players.
We hope you will enjoy the vehicle and, as always:
See you on the battlefield!

Today we’ve prepared the following items for you:
AbramsX Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank
CATTB Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank
Abrams AGDS Tier 9 Premium Tank Destroyer
Griffin 120mm Tier 8 Premium Light Tank
M1134 Tier 8 Premium Tank Destroyer
Pile of Gold Loot Crate
Seahawks Battle Coins
Between February 13, 2025 and February 20, 2025, the following items will be available:
AbramsX
AbramsX is an advanced technology demonstrator. It was built as a private venture by General Dynamics Land Systems and unveiled in 2022 to show what the future of the Abrams MBT could look like. It is considerably lighter than a fully upgraded Abrams while retaining its protection levels and firepower thanks to its cutting edge systems. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.
In Armored Warfare, the AbramsX is a Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank. While still maintaining the basic Abrams line features such as a 120mm gun, it is considerably lighter and less armored. On the other hand it is also faster, more agile, stealthier, and features a 30mm autocannon that can reduce most light vehicles to a pile of scrap in seconds thanks to its new ammunition. As a result, this tank can dish out a lot of damage but requires careful and skilled gameplay.
The AbramsX Tier 10 Premium MBT is available in our Web Shop via Loot Crates. Collect 100 blueprint pieces from these crates to obtain the vehicle.
CATTB
The CATTB Main Battle Tank was an experimental platform, developed as one of the early steps in the creation of a next generation Abrams Main Battle Tank, also referred to as the Block III Abrams, or M1A3. It was created in the 1980s as a response to the perceived threat of future Soviet super tanks and featured some truly advanced components, such as the XM291 dual caliber cannon that could switch between 120mm and 140mm calibers. With the collapse of the Soviet Union, the development of this tank became unnecessary and the program was canceled in the 1990s. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.
In Armored Warfare, the CATTB is a Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank and one of the most powerful and versatile MBTs around, devastating its opponents with its signature double-tap feature, allowing it to fire its cannon twice in short order. This allows it to drive around a corner, deal very high amounts of damage and then retreat back into cover, leaving the enemy reeling from the massive blow.
This vehicle is available via Loot Crates, which drop CATTB parts. Collect 100 CATTB parts from these Loot Crates to assemble the whole vehicle.
Abrams AGDS
The Abrams AGDS (Armored Ground Defense System) was a vehicle concept and proposal, drafted in July 1996 by Dr. Asher H. Sharoni (a former colonel in the Israeli Defense Forces) and Lawrence D. Bacon from a Californian company called Western Design Howden. It was supposed to be an air-defense vehicle, protecting the Abrams formations against flying threats, although its weaponry can be deployed against ground targets as well. The United States were, at the time, sorely lacking a vehicle comparable to the Russian Shilka and one of the ideas was to use the Abrams chassis paired with a new turret to produce an armored AA gun that would be able to keep up with the American tank units. This plan was never realized and the vehicle stayed only on paper but you can play the Abrams AGDS in Armored Warfare and experience what it would have been like, had it ever been deployed.
In Armored Warfare, the Abrams AGDS is a very unique Tier 9 Premium Tank Destroyer. What makes it so special are its two large guided missile launchers capable of firing an incredibly devastating volley within seconds. The AGDS can devastate practically every opponent on the battlefield with a single salvo, making it one of the best and most effective mid-to-long range vehicles in the game. At close ranges, it can rely on excellent frontal turret protection and its two 35mm autocannons to keep enemies at bay until the missile launcher reloads to unleash another deadly swarm of missiles. The Abrams AGDS is one of the most feared vehicles in Armored Warfare!
This bundle is available in our Web Shop.
Griffin 120mm
The Armored Warfare version of the Griffin Light Tank is based on an early 2016 tech demonstrator, intended to show the U.S. military during the AUSA 2016 conference that General Dynamics meant business. It was built as a private venture; effectively a scaled-up example of General Dynamics was capable of providing when it came to highly mobile vehicles with a lot of firepower for the U.S. airborne forces. The U.S. Army was impressed and the design has since evolved into what is generally referred to as the MPF Light Tank. You can read more about this vehicle in our dedicated article.
In Armored Warfare, the Griffin 120mm is a Tier 8 Premium Light Tank and a powerful, fast machine, armed not only with its 120mm cannon, but also with special ammunition types, making it deadly at any distance. Few Tier 9 vehicles can match its sheer ferocity on the battlefield.
This bundle is available in our Web Shop.
M1134
The M1134 is an advanced missile Tank Destroyer based on the Stryker chassis, used in the U.S. Army Stryker Brigade Combat Teams to enhance the unit’s firepower against enemy armor. While only lightly protected, its main strength light in the advanced model of the BGM-71 TOW missile launcher, allowing it to knock out practically every armored target it encounters on the battlefield.
In Armored Warfare, the M1134 is a Tier 8 Tank Destroyer. Its main and only weapon is the dual-shot missile launcher. As such, the vehicle is mostly defenseless at close ranges, but can take out any enemy it encounters at long distances thanks to its powerful guided missiles. Mastering it requires patient gameplay and clever use of cover, making it more suitable for experienced players.
Please note: In order to use Battle Coins, you need to obtain the access to the Seahawks Battle Path.
This bundle is available in our Web Shop.

In Development: Borsuk
Commanders!
With February in full swing, we’d like to start telling you about an upcoming Battle Path called Shadow Protocol and its vehicles, the first of which to be unveiled will be the Borsuk Armored Fighting Vehicle.
Borsuk IFV, 2022
The Shadow Protocol Battle Path has two themes – the main one is mercenaries and their history. The second one is the past, the present and the future of warfare with Borsuk representing the contemporary vehicles.
But, as usual, a bit of history first.
The Borsuk (“badger”) is a brand-new Polish Infantry Fighting Vehicle, designed to replace the now utterly obsolete BWP-1 (Polish version of the BMP-1) from the 1970s with earlier attempts to produce a universal platform (such as the Anders) or upgrading it (the Puma program) falling short.
Towards the end of 2014, the Poles launched another project to modernize their IFVs. The first public information about the new IFV was unveiled in 2016 and included two important pieces of info – the turret was supposed to be unmanned and capable of launching Spike ATGMs.
Borsuk demonstrator, 2017
The vehicle was also supposed to be amphibious – an important requirement for the Polish military, as Poland is a country full of rivers. Initially, two versions were envisaged – a light one (25 tons, amphibious) and a heavy one (40 tons, not amphibious). The idea was to produce at least 1000 vehicles in order to completely replace the BWP-1. Initially, it was also considered to co-develop (and co-finance) the vehicle with the Czech Republic, but that plan collapsed very quickly.
A technological proof of concept was exhibited in Kielce during the MSPO 2017 expo. From there, refinements were made, and the chassis was mated with a remote-controlled (unmanned) ZSSW-30 turret (armed with Spikes and 30mm Mk.44S autocannon with -9/+60 depression and elevation and 120 RPM rate of fire). It also gained additional armor and new tracks. This more advanced Borsuk prototype was displayed a year later, again during the MSPO expo.
Borsuk IFV, 2023
At that point, the Borsuk requirements for “heavy” and “light” variants merged into a single 25 ton amphibious vehicle (although additional modular armor is also supported, increasing the weight to 28 tons). The vehicle was powered by a MTU engine producing some 720hp.
Further work on the design included various modifications based on initial testing feedback such as changing how the splash board works, and the locations of cameras. The final version of the prototype was wheeled out in 2019. Military trials then followed and were completed in 2022 with additional four prototypes being manufactured during this time (bringing the total to five prototypes). At the beginning of 2023, an order was placed for 1400 units (1000 basic Borsuk IFVs, 400 specialized variants), the first of which due to be delivered in 2025.
Borsuk is also available for export with various versions being offered to Romania and even Brazil. However, it’s unlikely to be a widely successful export article for now, first due to the lack of service experience and, secondly, due to the Polish Army likely gobbling up all produced units.
In Armored Warfare, the Borsuk will be a Tier 10 Premium AFV.
All in all, the vehicle itself is not very remarkable, but comes with a major twist. The armor is in concept somewhat similar to that of the Ajax – basic hull covered with modular composite plates. Compared to the Ajax, the vehicle is less armored and has fewer hitpoints (as it is considerably lighter) but it is protected from autocannons.
The firepower is also decent and consists of 40mm autocannon and a Spike ATGM launcher in an unmanned turret (the Spike launcher is unlocked via Battle Path progression). As for the mobility, the vehicle is considerably more agile than the Ajax thanks to its lower weight. 720hp for 28 tons is not a bad value, after all. The vehicle can naturally also deploy Mechanized Infantry.
So, now you might be thinking that we made a decent (if bland) IFV suitable for all kinds of players. But here comes the promised twist.
The Borsuk will also come with a unique ability called Repair Zone. Simply put, when activated, it deploys a repair team. In game terms, it spawns a circle behind it and staying in the circle will slowly restore your hitpoints. The restoration speed and the maximum amount of restored hitpoints are still being tuned, but the base will also have a physical object with hitpoints inside it (a pile of boxes). Destroying that object will remove the base.
This ability is sure to come in handy in both PvP and difficult PvE modes where a strategically placed Repair Zone can save the entire mission.
We hope you will enjoy the vehicle and, as always:
See you on the battlefield!

Historical Skins – T-80BVM Greshnik
Commanders!
It’s been a while since we had a new historical skin, so let’s take a look at what we are bringing you in February. This year’s Defender of the Fatherland Day will feature an interesting skin called Greshnik for T-80BVM along with other assets.
The skin is based on a specific T-80BVM (some sources claim it’s T-90M Proryv but it is not) belonging likely to the Russian Pacific Fleet Marines, as photographed around the summer of 2023. The vehicle seems to be a simplified “Model 2022” without the Sosna-U optics.
The “Model 2022” is an unofficial name – the official one is much longer and not exactly convenient: "Tank T-80BVM (1A43-11, 1PN-96MT-01)".
Aside from traditional Russian tricolor emblems and the flag of the Russian Navy, the vehicle bears a prominent name Greshnik (“Sinner”) on its upper frontal plate.
The tactical number 211 is complemented by a red triangle emblem, which typically appears on Russian Marine vehicles.
Aside from the look, it’s worth noting that the skin will automatically unlock the following modules:
Top armor configuration
APS
That way, you’ll be able to enjoy your T-80BVM in its maximum configuration without having to unlock the modules first. But that’s not all that we have for you.
There’s the Russian (Spetsnaz) camouflage as featured on vehicles used by elite operators and, of course, two separate decals:
Drone Elite
Air Defense
Take a look:
We hope that you’ll enjoy these new customization options and, as always:
See you on the battlefield!
Nvidia Issues and Solution
Commanders!
We are aware of the issues caused by the two newest Nvidia GPU drivers. These issues prevent the game from loading at all (it crashes at launch) or cause crashes while playing.
In order to prevent these from happening, the only temporary solution is to install older Nvidia drivers (566.36 or older).
We are working with Nvidia to resolve the situation. We apologize for the issue and will inform you as soon as we have a solution.
