We are introducing a new progression vehicle, the Tier 8 T-80UM-1 Bars MBT. In addition to the standard Experience and Credit requirements, unlocking this MBT requires playing 100 matches using the T-80U Tier 7 MBT in order to make sure you are accustomed to the tank’s playstyle. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.

General Changes
  • Fixed the issue with incorrect bonus for long queues (except for Ranked Battles)

Offer: Asian Week

Commanders!

Today we’ve prepared the following items for you:
  • Type 10 Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank
  • QN-506 Tier 9 Premium Tank Destroyer
  • VT-5 Tier 9 Premium Light Tank
  • Pindad SBS Tier 8 Premium Armored Fighting Vehicle
  • Type 90 Tier 7 Premium Main Battle Tank along with Japanese camouflage
  • Iron Crate

Between October 5 and 12, 2023, the following items will be available:

Type 10

The Type 10 MBT is the most modern Japanese Main Battle Tank in service and one of the most advanced war machines in the world. Using sophisticated electronics and crystalline steel armor, this tank is more than a match for any enemy that would threaten the islands of Japan. You can learn more about it in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the Type 10 is a Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank. What puts it apart from the other MBTs of its Tier is its special NERA armor. This highly-mobile MBT starts every battle well-armored, but the protection levels decrease with every shot taken. Additionally, this MBT features a special system that tells you the exact chance to penetrate your target. Overall, it’s one of the most powerful MBTs of its Tier and certainly a good choice for players, who prefer rapid action to slow advances.

The Type 10 Tier 10 Premium MBT is available in our Web Shop via Loot Crates. Collect 100 blueprint pieces from these crates to obtain the vehicle.

QN-506

The QN-506 fire support vehicle is a Chinese attempt to design a cheap, export-oriented alternative to the Russian BMPT series. Instead of converting a second or third generation MBT, the engineers at Wuhan Guide Infrared Co., Ltd., likely to keep the vehicle as affordable as possible, opted to base their project on the Type 59 MBT, which is, in its basic form anyway, a copy of the old Soviet T-55 medium tank from the late 1950s. They jam-packed it with cutting edge electronics and a number of weapon systems, including ATGMs, an automatic cannon or smaller caliber rockets. However, despite the use of an unmanned turret, the protection levels of this vehicle are still quite low and, so far, there haven’t been any signs of interest in the QN-506. You can learn more about this vehicle in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the QN-506 is a Premium Tier 9 Tank Destroyer that gameplay-wise resembles the popular BMPT series. However, unlike the Russian Terminators, it has a number of interesting features including tree different weapon systems (30mm cannon, 70mm unguided rockets and 151mm ATGMs) and loitering recon ammunition flying towards the end of a map and spotting everything in its path. The last ability is unique to the QN-506 and makes it one of the most potent support vehicles on the battlefield.

VT-5

The VT-5 is a modern Chinese Light Tank that was developed specifically with export in mind. There are many reasons why a country without its own tank development should opt to purchase a Light Tank instead of a full-scale Main Battle Tank. It’s equally as fast if not faster with equal firepower but, what is most important, it is affordable. The VT-5 excels in all these categories. While its armor cannot match that of an MBT, it can protect its crew against most infantry threats thanks to its ERA and cage armor sets. It also has a powerful 105mm gun capable of firing guided missiles, it is packed with advanced electronics and is supremely agile thanks to its 1000hp diesel engine. Simply put, wraps cutting edge technologies up into an affordable bundle. You can learn more about it in a dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the VT-5 is a very powerful Tier 9 Premium Light Tank. Fast and agile, it features solid levels of protection (the configuration in the game is the one featuring the ERA kit as well as the turret cage armor) and a good rate of fire. Additionally, its gun is capable of firing guided missiles. It’s an ideal machine for players who value speed and agility, as it offers plenty of both. The VT-5 is capable of dancing around its opponents on the battlefield, outperforming even some AFVs in mobility.

Clicking the link below will open the game’s launcher. Please select the Market option on the left and select Armored Warfare to access this offer.

Pindad SBS

The SBS platform is one of the first domestic armored vehicles developed by Pindad (the largest Indonesian armor producer) for Indonesia and is officially listed as a “light tank”. It was developed sometimes in the early 2010s with some prototypes in different configuration appearing in public in 2014 or so. The variant in the game is a long-range MLRS fire support vehicle with a 122mm multi-barreled rocket launcher. You can learn more about it in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the Pindad SBS is a Tier 8 Premium Armored Fighting Vehicle. This AFV is fairly unique, since its main weapon is a multi-barreled rocket launcher capable of firing over obstacles. This makes the Pindad incredibly powerful in both offense and defense. Static enemy targets stand no chance! This vehicle is best used with Commander Ophelia Kitescu and in a platoon – the firepower of such a formation is truly without equal.

Clicking the link below will open the game’s launcher. Please select the Market option on the left and select Armored Warfare to access this offer.

Type 90

The Type 90 is the current service main battle tank of the Japanese Self-Defense Force. On the outside, it vaguely resembled the German Leopard 2, but inside, the vehicle’s completely different. It was adequately armed and armored for the time it was developed in, but what made it really stand out were its cutting-edge Japanese electronics and its hydraulic suspension, allowing the tank to tilt itself forward or backward, enhancing its gun elevation and depression beyond what the turret would normally allow. This trait was considered to be an important for Japan, as much of its landmass is covered by mountainous areas. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the Type 90 is a Tier 7 Premium Main Battle Tank. Gameplay-wise, it resembles the Leopard 2 and Abrams version of the same Tier. The difference between the Leopard and the Type 90 MBT lie in the presence of an automatic loading mechanism – otherwise, the firepower and protection levels is roughly the same with the Japanese tank having a little less armor, compensated by more module hitpoints. Overall, it is not the best-protected MBT on the battlefield, requiring careful long-range gameplay. However, the advanced electronics installed in this tank as well as its hydraulic suspension allow it to aim faster than all its class and Tier counterparts.

The Type 90 is also available in the Japanese bundle, which contains:
  • Type 90 Tier 7 Premium MBT
  • Japanese camouflage
  • Two Japanese decals
  • Japanese red flag

You can learn more about the Japanese camouflage in our dedicated article.

In Development: Boxer RIWP

Commanders!

In our last articles about the upcoming Battle Path we’ve discussed the Boxer CRV Tier 9 Premium AFV and the Puma Tier 10 Premium AFV but now’s the time to show you the ultimate prize, for which we’ve chosen a very specific configuration of the Boxer platform – Boxer RIWP.

Boxer RIWP is a combination of two existing systems – the Boxer (Tracked) platform and the RIWP turret by MOOG. Let’s start with the first part. Boxer (Tracked) is a private venture by KMW, one of the manufacturers and developers of the original Boxer platform. It’s basically exactly what the name suggests – a modified Boxer hull with a tracked suspension similar to the one used on the Puma IFV. The vehicle appeared in the summer of 2022 at the EUROSATORY expo in Paris.

The advantages of such a platform are obvious – for KMW, at least, because they have produced a tracked platform with the same properties as the Boxer (it supports interchangeable modules) but with higher carrying capacity (up to 45 tons) and improved off-road capability (tracks are much better off-road than wheels, after all) for a fraction of cost of a completely new IFV. Moreover, the platform supports the same wide range of configurations as the original Boxer.

The unveiled version was fitted with the RCT120 turret armed with a 120mm low recoil smoothbore gun – in other words, it was in fire support or even light tank configuration. The tracked Boxer shown weighed some 40 tons (of which 28 tons was the Drive module), was powered by 1180hp MTU 881 CR diesel engine and could go as fast as 70 km/h (some sources claim even 100 km/h but that’s most likely an oversight based on the wheeled Boxer). The protection was basic steel presumably STANAG 4569 Level 3-4 (similar to the original Boxer) but it could be enhanced by pretty much anything on the market, from StrikeShield to Trophy.

It should be said that the vehicle that appeared at the expo was purely for demonstrational purposes and was nowhere near production-ready. As such, it didn’t attract any customers – couldn’t have, the finalized version is years away. But it is an interesting concept, especially for the countries already using the Boxers, especially the United Kingdom with its Ajax program that is, mildly put, problematic.

The vehicle became quite popular last summer amongst tank enthusiasts and quickly turned into an often-requested candidate for introduction into Armored Warfare. The biggest problem with it was, however, the general blandness of the concept. Light Tanks are quite difficult to use in the game and the RCT120 turret has little going for it. Simply put, it was boring. And this is where the RIWP turret comes in.

This turret (or weapons module, if you will) was developed by MOOG sometimes around 2013-2014 and has been evolving ever since. The word RIWP stands for Reconfigurable Integrated-weapons Platform and that’s exactly what this is – a combat module that can be fitted with pretty much any weapon system the customer desired. It’s an incredibly versatile platform that consists of the main turret (carrying a gun) and two optional pylons. The gun in question can be pretty much anything from a 7.62mm universal machinegun to a 30mm autocannon. The pylons can carry Stingers, TOWs, Javelins, Hellfires – almost anything you can think of.

It’s a service module too – it’s being used on Stryker SHORAD-M, the short-range air defense vehicle of the U.S. forces. That’s roughly the configuration we’ll be using, without the air-defense sensors of course. But the best part? It’s specifically listed as being compatible with the Boxer.

This is not as what-if configuration as you might think. The Boxer was already tested with the RIWP so it stands to reason that it can be fitted to the tracked Boxer as well. And that’s what we have for you. Let’s discuss the game performance then since this vehicle’s all about player choices.

In Armored Warfare, the Boxer RIWP will be a Tier 10 Premium Armored Fighting Vehicle.

Let’s discuss the more obvious things first and then get to the really interesting part, which is the weapon set. This AFV is exactly what you’d expect, the Tier 9 Boxer on tracks and will be obtainable by reaching Level 50 (the maximum level) of the Exile Battle Path.

It’s not that heavier than the Boxer (we estimate the RIWP configuration to be roughly 40 tons) but has a much more powerful engine (1180hp diesel), which means it’ll be relatively nimble and fast – think K21 XC-8 but better. The maximum speed will be limited to 70 km/h but the acceleration and agility will be nothing to scoff at (2.9s from 0 to 32 km/h, 45 degrees hull traverse). Protection-wise, we have Boxer armor with StrikeShield (same configuration) along with ROSY soft kill APS. It won’t do a lot of spotting with its 370m viewrange but it will have decent 25% camouflage rating. It’ll also have a crew of two and carry a sniper as a potential spotter aid.

And now to the really good stuff. The vehicle will offer you FIVE different turret configurations at your disposal. Each of them comes with two main weapons:
  • 30mm autocannon (similar to the AbramsX one but will also feature a modern APFSDS round)
  • 7.62mm machinegun

The weapons elevate to +60 degrees, depress to -20 degrees and the weapons station is, of course, unmanned. The configurations will look as such:
  • Close Support – 4x7 70mm Hydra unguided rocket pods (fires two Hydras at once every 0.25s followed by 13s of reloading)
  • Overhead Support – 4x TOW featuring standard TOW ATGMs but also TOW Aero roof-attack missiles (fires two missiles at once followed by 1.7s reload time, then the other two missiles and then the launchers reload 10 seconds)
  • Long-Range Support – 4x Brimstone (fires two missiles at once followed by 2s reload time, then the other two missiles and then the launchers reload 22 seconds)
  • Kinetic Support – 8x Starstreak (fires two Starstreaks at once every 1.25s followed by 10s of reloading)
  • Hybrid Support – this configuration has a Javelin two-tube launcher on one side and Brimstone two-tube launcher on the other side that you can switch between, both fire two missiles at once (the Brimstone launcher reloads 11s and the Javelin launcher reloads 9s)

In case it was not obvious from the text above, all configurations fire two missiles/rockets at once, which makes them far deadlier due to the fact they can overwhelm APS easily enough. It’s also worth noting that we’ll be taking a look at the Javelin and TOW Aero (and similar system) conduct because these weapons have been underperforming as of late.

And that’s pretty much it, that’s the top prize. We hope you’ll enjoy it and are looking forward to telling you more about further improvements to the Battle Path.

See you on the battlefield!

On the 5th of October 2023, starting from 8:00 CEST, the server will not be available for 4 hours due to a planned server maintenance.

Bundeswehr skin for Leopard 2A6

The Bundeswehr skin for the Leopard 2A6 Tier 9 progression Main Battle Tank visually converts in MBT into a Leopard 2A7 thanks to the changes we’ve made in the tank’s geometry. While it won’t give you any additional performance, it will allow you to make your Leopard 2A6 like the best MBT Germany currently has available. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.

The skin is available in two bundles:
  • Leopard 2A6 Bundeswehr bundle along with a new German winter camouflage
  • Leopard bundle along with the Bundeswehr skin for Leopard 2A5

Please note that the bundle includes the skins but not the Leopard 2A5 or the Leopard 2A6 MBT itself. This tank needs to be obtained via progression directly in the game.

Clicking the link below will open the game’s launcher. Please select the Market option on the left and select Armored Warfare to access this offer.

Bundeswehr skin for Leopard 2A5

The Bundeswehr skin for the Leopard 2A5 Tier 8 progression Main Battle Tank is loosely based on a real life Leopard 2 vehicle from Panzerbataillon 104 stationed in Pfreimd, Bavaria. It features the typical German NATO camouflage, unit insignia and a camouflage net on top. If you ever dreamt of driving a Bundeswehr tank in Armored Warfare, this is as close as you’re going to get to it! You can read more about it in our dedicated article.

Please note that the bundle includes the skins but not the Leopard 2A5 MBT itself. This tank needs to be obtained via progression directly in the game. The skin is available in the Leopard bundle along with the Bundeswehr skin for the Leopard 2A6 MBT.

Clicking the link below will open the game’s launcher. Please select the Market option on the left and select Armored Warfare to access this offer.

German Camouflage Bundle

German vehicles appeared in a wide range of different camouflages over the last five decades. This bundle contains pretty much all the older German camouflages that are currently implemented in Armored Warfare, including a brand new German Winter camouflage. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.

The bundle contains the following items:

These camouflages can be used in any environment and on any vehicle that allows you to do so but look the best on German vehicles such as the Leopard series.

Clicking the link below will open the game’s launcher. Please select the Market option on the left and select Armored Warfare to access this offer.

Leopard 2 Revolution

The Leopard 2 Revolution is a continuation of the older Evolution upgrade, intended to improve the performance of the older variants of the Leopard 2 Main Battle Tank in order to make it excel even on the battlefields of the 21st century. The improvements include a comprehensive armor upgrade, ROSY soft-kill APS and smoke grenade launchers as well as an entire suite of cutting edge electronics. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the Leopard 2 Revolution is a Tier 8 Main Battle Tank. It is not only well-armored, it also features an extremely accurate 120mm gun with advanced ammunition, allowing it to destroy its opponents at very long ranges, rivaling those of Tank Destroyers. The German tanks in general perform best at longer ranges and the Revolution is no exception.

This offer also includes the Wallbreaker version. This vehicle features unique Berlin Wall-themed camouflage.

Clicking the link below will open the game’s launcher. Please select the Market option on the left and select Armored Warfare to access this offer.

Kampfpanzer 70

The Kampfpanzer 70 is the German sibling of the MBT-70. Back in the 1960s, the Germans and the Americans cooperated on the creation of a new, highly advanced Main Battle Tank, armed with a powerful 152mm gun and cutting edge technology. The project was a failure and the tank was never adopted for several reasons, including an extremely high price. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the Kampfpanzer 70 is a Tier 6 Premium Main Battle Tank, just like the MBT-70. Although both vehicles generally look the same way, there are some differences. For one, the Kampfpanzer 70 cannot fire the Shillelagh guided missiles, but can use HE ammunition, making it truly deadly against lightly armored opponents.

Clicking the link below will open the game’s launcher. Please select the Market option on the left and select Armored Warfare to access this offer.

Panzer 87-140

The Panzer 87-140 is an experimental version of Panzer 87 (Swiss Leopard 2A4), fitted with a RUAG 140mm smoothbore cannon and an armor kit called WE. It was developed in the 1980s and early 1990s to counter the next generation of Soviet MBTs, but with the collapse of the Soviet Union, the project was shelved, only to resurface around 2005-2006 but never passing the experimental stage. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the Panzer 87-140 is a Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank. Much like other Leopard series MBTs, it’s a long-range fighter with an extremely powerful gun and the ability to fire with pinpoint accuracy. Even though its armor leaves much to be desired, at long range, this MBT has few equals and can be considered one of the best snipers of its class.

The Panzer 87-140 Tier 10 Premium MBT is available in our Web Shop via Loot Crates. Collect 100 blueprint pieces from these crates to obtain the vehicle.

Leclerc T40

Sometimes called the French Terminator, this vehicle was designed on the Leclerc MBT chassis with one purpose in mind – to accompany tanks and fight off infantry attacks the same way as the Russian BMPT series does. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the Leclerc T40 is a Tier 9 Premium Tank Destroyer. It offers you a combination of a durable hull, rapid-fire 40mm automatic cannon and, most importantly, the Javelin missile system. Simply right-click the target, wait until it becomes locket and fire the Javelin ATGM – it will home itself on the target, attacking its weak roof armor. Thanks to this ability, the Leclerc T40 is one of the most destructive vehicles in the game.

Clicking the link below will open the game’s launcher. Please select the Market option on the left and select Armored Warfare to access this offer.

Marder 2

The Marder 2 was an experimental German IFV, developed in the late 1980s to replace the aging Marder IFV. It featured more armor, a new turret and a brand-new Rheinmetall dual-caliber autocannon that could fire both 35mm and 50mm rounds. Despite its qualities, the vehicle was never accepted in service due to its high cost and because it was no longer needed because of the fall of the Soviet Union. A single surviving prototype can be found today in the Koblenz military collection. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the Marder 2 is a Tier 8 Armored Fighting Vehicle. With its 44 tons, it’s one of the heaviest and toughest AFVs around. Unlike many other AFVs of its Tier, it is not armed with guided missiles, relying instead on its extremely powerful 50mm autocannon. This vehicle can also deploy Mechanized Infantry.

Clicking the link below will open the game’s launcher. Please select the Market option on the left and select Armored Warfare to access this offer.

AMX-10 RCR

The AMX 10 RCR is the updated variant of the French AMX 10 RC fire support vehicle by GIAT, originally developed in the early 1980s. This light and nimble wheeled 6x6 AFV was armed with a 105mm gun, allowing it to knock out even armored targets at considerable distances. Over 200 of these aging vehicles were upgraded by Nexter in 2010 with improved armor and electronics, enabling them to fulfill modern battlefield tasks until their eventual replacement by the Jaguar. You can learn more about its history in our dedicated article!

In Armored Warfare, the AMX 10 RCR is a Tier 8 wheeled Premium Tank Destroyer. It’s incredibly agile with its wheeled chassis allowing it to outrun pretty much any enemy on the battlefield save for the fastest AFVs. Its gun accuracy is also top notch, making this vehicle perfect for sniper-style gameplay as its thin armor can’t protect it against enemy shells at close distances. This vehicle also comes with the Hydraulic Suspension active ability.

Clicking the link below will open the game’s launcher. Please select the Market option on the left and select Armored Warfare to access this offer.

Pile of Gold

This Loot Crate includes:
  • 250.000 Gold
