I know it's been a while since the previous update, but I've now finally gotten back to development, fixing quite a few things in this update. My plan is still to complete the game by the end of Summer 2023, although I will of course continue to fix bugs beyond that as they are reported! Changelog for this update follows:

ADD: Unit def for Jagdpanzer IV (early) (thanks PowderTrail!)

CNG: Music config setting now affects both main menu and bailout music
CNG: Non-Player Commander crewmen can now only receive a decoration if the Player Commander already has 1+ of them
CNG: Crew nicknames now displayed in the assign positions and swap positions menus
CNG: Revised portraits and stats for several German late-war tank destroyers (thanks PowderTrail!)

FIX: Sound Effects config setting no longer greyed out when turned off
FIX: Partial HE hits now correctly have no chance of penetrating armour
FIX: Heavy Mortar Teams will now no longer be available to Germany prior to 1943
FIX: Typo in tutorial text (thanks UncleID!)

1.2.33 Hotfix

This hotfix addresses two issues raised on the Discord:

  • Move to Safe Location bailout action had an incorrect description
  • Squadmates kept their hull facing after moving with the player in an overrun attack

ADD: Unit definitions for StuG III G (late), StuG IV (late), Sturmpanzer IV (late)
ADD: For each level up, crewman have a chance to gain training on a crew position in the vehicle, with a higher chance if they are currently in that position
ADD: Surname of vehicle commander now displayed for squadmates

CNG: Slightly changed the odds of zone capture during Amphibious Assault day missions
CNG: If player is bogged down, only the base chance to unbog will be displayed in the contextual console during the Movement Phase
CNG: Unit support units will now spawn moving unless they are already deployed

FIX: Guns that have no size_class defined will now be treated as being normal size, and will not be able to move while deployed
FIX: Game now properly checks for an existing saved campaign and warns the player if starting a new campaign will overwrite it

FIX: Correct AP value now used for the Lee/Grant 75mm gun
FIX: If player's radio breaks down as a result of a Campaign Day random event, the player unit display is now properly refreshed to reflect this
FIX: Campaign skills that confer a stat bonus are no longer removed at the end of a campaign, and thus crewmen will not receive another stat bonus if continuing into a new campaign that grants the same skill
FIX: Hills on snowy maps will now be more visible

An important hotfix that fixes an issue with allied unit support units not being properly reset before each turn

ADD: Mods may now include custom region and/or nation definitions, stored in nation_defs.json and region_defs.json in the mod's root folder
ADD: Mods may now include custom flag and/or decoration ribbon xp images as part of their custom nation definitions, these should be stored in the mod's root folder

CNG: Region definitions now stored as JSON data in region_defs.json

FIX: Bail-out actions involving unconscious crewmen are now more clear, and won't disrupt the action list if there are 2+ unconscious crewman in the same position as the crewman trying to act upon them
FIX: When Player Commander spent time in the Field Hospital, the days remaining for other crewmen were not being updated properly
FIX: Console background colour now properly reset when viewing campaign records
FIX: Updated Crusader I CS unit definition to match fix for Crusader I
