Avalon: The Journey Begins

Update v1039

Jumping in with another quick minor update. Details as follows...

Avalon v1.0.3.9

- Fixed issue where game would crash when giving docking pass to pan handlers.

- Pan Handlers can only ask for outpost sector maps.

- Fixed issue where selling sector map types on service stations would give over 10,000 gc.

- Fixed issue which caused some npc's on ships to display a blank blue box when talked to.

SHIP UPGRADES:
- NPC's with new entertainer profession on stations which can give out positive morale tokens.

Ship Upgrades DLC (hotfix)

Hi everyone! This is version 1037 which is just a quick hotfix here for the morale system. Now morale boosts are much cheaper and more effective. Theaters can now give out 1 to 3 positive morale tokens (depending on how much they enjoyed the movie) or 1 negative morale token (if they did not like the movie). Cheers!

Edit 5/9/18

Just a quick addition here brings a v1038. A Restaurant has been added which not only can give positive morale tokens but also food & water tokens. If food or service is bad, a negative morale token will be received. Like Theaters, these restaurants can be found in stations and outposts.

Ship Upgrades DLC out now!

The second DLC has arrived! Checkout the store page for full details and features. Also I will be doing a new let's play video which will not only show gameplay but also content from both dlc in action! I will also be explaining things in the game as I go along. Last an update for the main game is in the works as well but no details on that yet. Cheers!

Ship Upgrades DLC store page is now live!

Full features and release info are listed on there. This one is certainly a game changer and really makes things more interesting with more powerful weapons and game features. Check it out!

Hotifx update v1034

Just a few things that got left out from the big update yesterday. I also put a some more things in that are fairly significant.

Avalon_v1034

- Title screen no longer shows DLC not installed.

- When a player kills any npc's on a station or outpost, the wanted level goes up by +1 for whatever faction owns the sector for each npc killed. Same goes for killing npc's while onboard an AI ship. Killing security droids will cause wanted level to go up by +2 for each one killed.

- AI ships can now give out 25% off shipyard coupons on ship modules and upgrades.

- Fighter groups can now provide support by giving items such as gc, docking passes, docking permits, and sector maps!

- Fixed broken morale tokens that leaked in from ship upgrades dlc.

- On ocean worlds dlc some items were not saving properly and have been fixed.

That's it for now. Next announcement will most likely be regarding the Ship Upgrades DLC so stick around. Cheers!

Update v1032 is now live!

The new update is here and there are some interesting changes and fixes! For one thing, attempting to open a comm link with ships is now more risky. Check it all out below...

Avalon v1032

- Planetary facilites no longer generate over the max capacity of food & water, fuel or energy.

- Added background to energy pack display on outpost and ship interior screens
.
- Ship upgrade modules which increase max capacity no longer keep max capacity if module is destroyed.

- There is now a 1 out of 6 chance an ai warship will attack when attemping to open a comm link.

- Mood face icons on ship comm screen has improved.

- Now, if a ship has less hull strength then the weapon hitting it, the ship will be destroyed with a single hit.

- New ship modules now save properly.

- Issues with using 'W' or 'S' for forward and reverse impulse has been fixed.

- If there are any wanted level for a faction, their ships will refuse to speak with you. The higher the wanted level to more likely they will not speak.

Ok this is it for now. The Ship Upgrades DLC is coming along very nicely and there will be an active store page and an ETA posted here soon. When the store page goes up the full features will be listed in the description. It's some good stuff and things i've been wanting to see in the game for quite sometime now. Cheers spacefarers!

Next update and upcoming DLC!

Yes a new DLC is on the way, Ship Upgrades and it is packed with good stuff! Not only will it add 10 new upgrades for the ship, it will also add new game features. Ship upgrades such as carrier modules, asm launcher, planetary bombardment cannon and more! New game features like crew morale and planetary bombardment which really makes things interesting! No ETA on this DLC yet but I will post here as soon as I know more. I expect the store page for it to be up within the next week or two.

Update v1028 is now live!

Hi everyone the new update is here! This one kept me really busy and ended up fairly large but it turned out to be a solid update. It focuses mainly on ship upgrades and also a redesigned planetary facility screen. A lot of important things have finally made its way into the game. Ocean Worlds gets a little bit of love here too. Details below...

AVALON v1028

- Fixed issue where the chance of a module or upgrade getting destroyed when the ship takes a hit did not work.

- Fixed issue where selling engineers in the academy would sell high officers.

- Redesigned planetary facility status screen and added help text popups.

- Added text description popups to every module in the shipyard.

- Added new ship module, a deep space radar. These not only look cool but also have a 1 out of 12 chance of generating a sector map every 30 to 90 seconds while in a space sector.

- Added new ship upgrade: Improved Comm Systems I, II, III.

- Added new ship upgrade: Reinforced Quarters, I, II, and III.

- Added two new laser turrets: Heavy Laser Turret I, Heavy Laser Turret II.

- Corrected a few typos in various places such as the Avalonpedia.

- Planetary locations no longer give out the obsolete location maps and instead give out sector maps.

- Energy Module ship upgrade has changed to Energy Regen. System I, II, II, IV.

- Energy storage now adds 5 points per purchase to a max of 200 and shows current capacity.

- Cargo bay now adds 5 points per purchase to a max of 400 and shows current capacity.

- A random nav sector map can now be purchased at Service stations.

- An adventure token is now aquired for boarding a derelict space station.

- Fixed issue which allowed probes to be launched on gaS giants by pressing probe launch button on gui.

- Fixed issue which allowed multiple probes to be launched by clicking more then once on a planet. Only 1 probe can be launched at a time.

OCEAN WORLDS DLC

- Added 7 new fish species.

- Added a new extremely valuable item, a Sea God Statue!

- Like other personnel, theres now a chance that Divers and Oceanographers can get killed when the ship takes hits.

- Like other personnel, Divers and Oceanographers can now also die from not having food.

- Planetary Manufacturing Complex can now generate Submarine Shuttles, Sub Spears and Torpedos.

- Added a new sunken ship type.

Ok this concludes this update. More cool things are coming as the game continues to expand and improve with each and every update. I will post info on what is coming with the next update. Also I want to mention, yes another DLC is planned but I don't have much detail on that yet so keep an eye here. Cheers and have fun!

Preview of upcoming update

Heya spacefarers! Just a preview of how the next update is coming along as well as what has changed or been added so far. Both the core game as well as ocean worlds dlc will get some updating here...

Avalon v1027

- Fixed issue where selling engineers in the academy would sell high officers.

- Redesigned planetary facility status screen and added help text popups.

- Added text description popups to every module in the shipyard.

- Added new ship module, a deep space radar. These not only look cool but also have a 1 out of 12 chance of generating a sector map every 30 to 90 seconds while in a space sector.

- Added new ship upgrades Adv. Comm Systems I, II, III. These decrease the chance of getting a no response on comm link from ships.

- Added new Heavy Laser Turret I and II. These are extremely expensive but powerful heavy laser cannons with long range.

Ocean Worlds

- Added 7 new fish species.
- Added a new extremely valuable item, a Sea God Statue!
- Added new sunken ship type.

Ok this is it for now. It is very possible more will be added to this before the update goes live. I don't have an eta yet so let's just keep it as a "coming soon". If I had to guess now I would say within the next two weeks if all goes well. Cheers!

Edited: 03/30/18

Pssst...another update is here!

Say hello to v1026! This update focuses on the ship systems. Here are the details...

Avalon v1026

- Added two additional ship systems, com system and launch bay. If com system fails you cannot open com link to other ships or stations. If the launch bay fails, you guessed it, you cannot launch probes to scan a planet nor can you launch shuttles. So keep those systems operational!

- There's now a chance that a ship system can be damaged and fail from taking hits by enemy lasers. The more powerful the laser that hits the more of a chance of a system failing.

- Ship system indicator lights have been reorganized into two rows of 5.

- Indicator lights no longer disappear if you start repair and exit ship systems screen. Instead the system under repair is indicated by a yellow light,

- Ship systems that are functioning OK are now listed in green. If they have failed it will be listed in red.

- Fixed misaligned text in avalonpedia for Ocean Worlds DLC.

- Avalonpedia ship system section has been updated. All new features are explained.

- Added new voice sounds for ship systems.

Ok this is it for now I will post a preview or details on the next updates as always. Or as what happened here, an update may just spring out without a preview! So until next time cheers and have fun!
