Planetary Facilities DLC has arrived!



Happy to say Planetary Facilities DLC has arrived! It doubles the amount of planet facilities that can be explored or built! More details about it on the store page. In addition, update 25 has rolled out. Details on update...

Avalon v10325

- Newly built planet facilities will now only start producing once player leaves the planet.

- Adjusted prices for all planet facilities.

- Enhanced Nomad capital ship graphics.

- Medicine can now be purchased at science labs.


Moons DLC

- Fixed shuttle engine sounds not turning off when leaving some moons.


So whats planned after this? I'm quite sure another update. For now, i'm going to warp to another sector and will come back with something. Twitter may have some hints from time to time ;)

Update 24 warps in!

Opening comm link with a new update here. This one mainly focuses on max limit caps. There were some strange issues from time to time coming up with the ship cargo bay space. This has been fixed and reworked. I want to mention if anyone gets a missing executable error when launching the game from Steam just uninstall and reinstall from Steam. Although this most likely won't happen. Details on this new update below...

Avalon v1.0.3.24

- Planet facilities can no longer appear close to the edges of planet.

- When explored, planet facilities now have a chance of giving out more.

- Prisons and com towers can now appear on planets as intended.

- Ship cargo bay capacity has been reworked and is more accurate.

- All items and resources now use cargo bay points.

- Added ship launch bay capacity with default max capacity of 40.

- All rovers, probes and beacons now use 1 launch bay point and all shuttles use 2 points.

- A max of 4 shuttle shields per shuttle can be purchased.

- Energy packs now set to a max limit of 60.

- All people onboard ship now use 1 point of personnel capacity each.

- Default max personnel capacity increased from 60 to 200.

- Stats screen now shows max limit for fuel, energy, hull, food & water, supplies and cargo.

- Merchant shops now shows current cargo and max capacity.

- Enhanced Orpehous capital ship graphics.

- A couple new gas giant planets.

- Added place holders for the new facilitiers coming soon in Planetary Facilities DLC.

MOONS DLC
A few fixes here with some things not saving...
- Mining facilities now properly save on game exit.
- Moon gems and moon stones now properly save on game exit.

Ok this is it for this update. I'm hoping to get the store page for Planetary Facilities DLC live within the coming week. Things are coming along fairly well with that and most of the features have been implemented and working as designed. More details to come. Cheers!

Update 20 is here and a new DLC coming!

Warping in here with another update, mostly a audio and visual update. One thing is a fix for an issue that somehow made it's way into the moons dlc. Have any of you figured out where the heck that 150,000+ gc came from after you sold an item only worth a few thousand or so? Turns out selling any item at manufacturers would also sell your distress beacons! So this has been fixed along with a few other changes and some cool sound effect additions. Here are full details on this update...

Avalon v1.0.3.20

- Fixed a bug where selling any item at manufacturers would also sell the distress beacon.

- Added new sound and lightning effects on atmosphere screen.

- Added new sound effects for shuttles during take off, landing and flying.

- Added more names to the planet and moon data base.

- Numbers replaced with roman numerals for designating planets and moons.

- Some minor graphic enhancements, mostly Sylion capital ships.

- Fixed issue where a mouse over on factory showed a prison facility.

- Fixed alien fighter graphic glitch.

I also want to announce a new DLC has been in the works, Planetary Facilities. I don't have a whole lot of details to share on it just yet but there is some super cool stuff coming with that! Those of you wanting hints, follow us on twitter ;)

Last I want to mention, please report any issues with the game either in bug reports of the forum or email with contact link at newhopegames.com. Moons DLC out now and update 19 arrives!

I'm excited to say the Moons DLC is out now! This one takes things to a whole new level since there are so many more possible surface explorations. This is not the only news, update 19 has arrived also and the details are listed below...

Avalon v10319

- Shuttle can no longer be landed until shadow appears on planet surface.
- Shuttle shadow now appears higher up on surface.
- Right clicking on shuttle when landed will unload or load rover.
- Right clicking on rover will cause explorers to exit or enter rover.
- Shuttle crossair changes to pointer when landed or departing.
- Fixed double words on top spaceship parts on stats screen.
- Funeral Cruisers now give out good alignment tokens.
- Improved buttons on planetary facilities screen.

Ocean Worlds

- If there is a resource count on oceanic planets they will contain searocks to mine.

Update v10314 lands!



Coming back with yet another update! This once focuses on the avalonpedia and ocean worlds dlc. Details follow...

Avalon v10314

- Added much more info to the avalonpedia, mainly the planets, factions and ocean worlds dlc sections.

- Corrected some typos in the avalonpedia.

- Added a new limited station type, a manufacturing factory.

- Industrial sector types are more useful and now include both a materials plant and a manufacturing factory.


Ocean Worlds DLC

- If sub shuttle gets destroyed by lightning bold game returns to space screen as intended.

- Added floating seaweed on ocean planets.

- More bubbles appear underwater when on ocean planets.

Check it out for full details, a trailer and screenshots. It is possible that more things could be added prior to release. If that is the case the store page will be updated with the new details. Avalon Moons DLC announced!



I'm happy to announce the third dlc is coming for Avalon! In Moons, players will be able to explore up to 8 moons per planet! In addition, there are other really cool features included as well. Update 10311 has warped in!

A little behind schedule here compared to my usual routine. This is an update for the base game. Some good stuff has made it's way into this update mainly 6 ring planets which can certainly be a spectacle! Details are as follows...

Avalon v1.0.3.11

- Ring planets can now have up to 6 rings instead of the previous 4.

- More planet names have been added to the database.

- Planet names postion closer under planets.

- When a rover is destroyed on a planet, pressing left or right mouse button anywhere on screen will now re-center view back on the shuttle.

- When a landing team is killed on a planet, pressing left or right mouse button anywhere on screen will now re-center view back on the rover.

- A message box appears when a landing team is killed on a planet.

- Added two new npc's.

- Improved random positioning of space stations orbiting planets.

- Added a couple new captain characters and enhanced others.

This concludes this update, a preview for next update will follow this one but I don't have an eta yet. A let's play video is still on the horizon and I will post an announcement in the forum when it is live.
