Update 10 warps in!

Hey everyone!! As promised the update is now live. Good news is, as I expected more has made it in then what was planned. For anyone who has not been following the game too close, this is not simply the 10th update. The game has had numerous updates since the first early access version. In fact so many that I would have to go back and count because I had lost count how many updates were posted. I want to also mention the game is getting closer to full release. Although I don't have an exact date, it is on the horizon. When I know something more I will post an announcment here. Here are the details of this update...

Avalon v0.1.5.10

- Fixed issue that would cause game to crash just after digging on a planet

- Added red X button at top to exit game

- Added a confirm message when pressing ESC key or X button to exit game

- Monsters, aliens, etc will no longer spawn on top of walls in derelict space statons

- Added new tropical creature, a palm walker

- Added new desert creature, a cactus spitter

- Enhanced some creature graphics

- Added other messages elsewhere

- Some minor graphic enhancements on a few creatures

- More info added to the Avalonpedia

- Better alignment of texts in some areas and on gui buttons

Ok thats it for now, I may post another pre-update announcement once the next update starts moving forward and getting closer to release. Within the next month is a great time to send suggestions or comments my way. I've already gotten some and thanks to those who sent them in. Ok stay tunned here as this game is moving forward! Until next announcment, explorer class ship, you are cleared for docking, over...

A look at what is coming in next update...

Hey everyone! Just wanted to jump in the pool here real quick and give a heads up on what is coming so far in the next update. Take note of the 'so far' because most likely more will be added to this list as long as time allows.

Avalon v0.1.5.10

- Fixed issue that would cause game to crash just after digging on a planet

- Added a message that confirms when pressing ESC to save and exit game

- Monsters, aliens, etc will no longer spawn on top of walls in derelict space statons

- Added new tropical creature

- Added other messages elsewhere

So when is this update going live? The plan is sometime next weekend as long as everything goes as planned. Cheers!

Update 08 has landed!

Hello! I'm happy to say the new update is now here and live! All the details are listed below...

Avalon v0.1.5.08

- New improved explorer ship model with added detail and graphic enhancements.

- New ship module added, booster thrusters which attach to the warp engines and increase forward thrust. These are cool and the extra speed they give is even more cool!

- Agricultural module graphic has been enhanced.

- Fixed bug where quad laser turret would only fire a 3 laser blast.

- Warships have a small chance of giving out electronic data chips when requesting support.

- Science cruiser can now also give out data chip and a much better chance of receiving one then from a warship.

- Personnel in space stations no longer spawn on top of shops or walls.

- Security droids no longer continue to spawn endlessly after shot as a result it is much easier to "go bad" in a station and get out alive!

- Adjustment of prices on many items.

- Amount of an item or resource received from tokens have been lessened.

- Total amount of resources and artifacts that can be found on a planet has been lowered.

- Fixed an issue where exiting a shipyard, service dock, or materials plant would sometimes bring player to a station interior.

- Pressing ESC key now exits the game as it should

Ok this concludes this update. Only a couple things I mentioned in last announcment never made such as the save game warp out and improved sounds. These things are planned for the next update. Until next time, hope you all have fun exploring this universe!

A quick look at the next update...

Heya space travellers! Just jumping in quick to share a little info on the upcoming update and what has been added so far. It is very possible more will be added prior to the update going live so this is just what is in now...

First and most noticeable is the player explorer ship model has been changed and improved with more detail. Example, maneuvering engines can now be seen and also the impulse engine is separate from the warp engines. Above is an image of the new model. It may be changed a little more before the update is live. Feel free to let me know if you like it better then the original one.

Next there is now a small chance that a warship will give out an electronic data chip when asked for support. Science cruisers may also give out data chips and at a much greater chance of receiving one then from a warship. A bug where quad laser turrets would fire triple lasers instead of quad lasers has been fixed. Lots of overall game balancing such as with items and resources, adjustment of prices on many things, and several other tweeks.

Now when save game is pressed, your ship will jump out of the sector, the game will then save and exit. This gives the game a to be continued feeling where once the game is reloaded, you will be in a brand new sector with all your collected items and previous stats! Also some new improved sounds will be added but these may or may not make it into this update.

Ok last, when will this update become live? I am aiming for the upcoming weekend if all goes well. This means testing and confirming everything working as designed and no new bugs surfacing and nothing gets broken that was working prior to the update. That's it for now, see you at the end of the universe, that's IF you can make it there? ;)

Hotfix 05

Am I back again so soon? Just a quick hotfix for last update. I noticed some issues that I wanted to correct asap...

- grand space stations had shop doors created on walls that were not shops
- exiting shops in grand space stations was not taking player back to station
but rather a random shop
- improved bar & grill and church shop doors graphic

That's it and until next update, cheers!
