A huge thanks to everyone who has given me feedback and for making this update possible.

The main feature in this build is a refactor of the rendering calls. These are now way faster, giving the game a big performance boost.

The graphics have also been improved and tidied up, with new light and specularity.

Since the game left Early Access and had its full launch, I have received loads of awesome feature requests and I have done my very best to implement them all. If I have missed your, I apologise!

Here are the most important changes and new features:

- Rendering calls refactor.
- New light falloff.
- New specularity.
- Improvements to guided projectiles.
- Better ship maneuvering.
- Skip cutscenes key (you can bind it in the controls menu).
- Basic Instructions screen.
- Controls curves.
- Controls profiles.
- Xbox360 controller fixes.
- Better balancing on MsM for kill.
- Weapon ready/range indicators.
- 2 new weapons.
- Adjustable camera distance.
- Better FOV.
- New loading UI.
- Locked target marker.
- Fix for savegames sometimes being overwritten by game updates.
- Fix crash on launch on Nvidia cards with 361.75 driver.

Preview Build Is Now Open!



A new branch is now live, you will be able to see in preview the post-release addons I'm working on!

To enable it, go on AX:EL in you library, right click on "Properties", BETA tab and select "Preview".

What's new in there:

<*> Controls profiles (might require remapping!)
<*> FOV and camera distance setup
<*> Locked target marker for finding it when out of sight
<*> Rehauled missile logic(more to come)
<*> New loading screen
<*> Bots now have random names instead of numbers
<*> Death screen now shows who killed you

[Dec 2015] Post release addons

Due to the number of awesome feedback and suggestions I'm still receiving, I've opened a thread on the forums for you to comment and give suggestions.

The Beta (not quite correct to call it beta since the game is already finished, but you get the point) is currently at 3.02 build and we are transitioning to 3.03 today. I'll upload the changes in the next few days(I firstly test everything myself)

Here are some new features:

<*>added controls profiles

<*>expanded max FOV for better depth perception

<*>added camera distance option and binding ( keys 8 and 9 in Stock profile)

<*>locked target marker, an indicator for the currently locked target while it's out of sight

<*>loading screen shows now a random screenshot

<*>first step of the weapon overhaul: missiles now have a FOV, allowing me to create from semi-guided flak to cruiser missiles and more effective countermeasures (more to come)

<*>bot names, bot now have randomly generated names, useful to have revenge in Arena!

AX:EL has left Early Access!

AX:EL has now left Early Access.

A big thank you to the AX:EL community,
who gave awesome feedback and helped with making AX:EL as we know it.



The game has grown a lot since its first appearance on Early Access:

Ship customisation now gives huge freedom and allows you to create your own vehicle with a unique setup.
From wing colors to their rotation, each wing with its unique stats for air maneuvering,underwater
maneuvering, energy regeneration and more.




The campaign mode had a complete rewrite with a deeper story, mission briefings,landings and take-offs.
There's even the cockpit view for full-immersion into the dogfigths.



The arena mode, with up to 32 bots and the possibility to play over direct IP or LAN with other
players now features Team Deathmatch.


The actual combat has improved a lot, too. It's now more strategic, allowing you to deploy countermeasures
or the energy shield to protect you. but beware, the AIs are now smarter and more challenging, too!

To help you with you flight, ships are now equipped with the "N.A.E.L.".
A special processing unit that gains experience based on how you fly, dive, or your tactics in combat.
Essentially the system will "learn" how you fly and configure the ship to give better performance.
So even flying around alone just to "train" it, will make your ship more adaptable to your way to maneuver it.

new features and cool addons!
