It’s Jasper and Calvin aka Jas and Gangs!

We wanna let you know that we’re coming to PAX East - you can meet us and play Backpack Hero on our stand from March 23rd till 26th.

But there’s more! We'd love to get to know Backpack Hero community members better! That's why we're thinking of organizing a small get-together outside of PAX - meet up in a bar, have a drink, and just hang out.

Pochette Re-design Hotfix 6

version 0.34.17

Changes
Bebe 7 -> 8 damage
Stinky 3 -> 5 damage
Blinky 1 -> 2 damage for both attacks +1 space in pouch
Tiny +1 space in pouch
Reordered the pouches for Weston, Vespie, and Stinky to make them easier to use
Lenny 3 -> 2 mana
Weston 4 -> 6 damage
Vespie 4 -> 8 damage
Sleepin Bag disabled from 3 -> 2 combat

Bug Fixes:
Fixed the Dark Ledger so it will correctly give energy when an enemy is defeated
Ball of Yarn stacks damage for each turn
Multiple feather wands now correctly stack mana costs to the Pet

New Stuff
Pet Burrows now have a unique description on the map
Modifiers for Pochette's bonuses now add together more easily!

Balance Changes
Third Eye sword 0 ->3 forge slots
The Tribal axe 0 -> 1 forge slots
The Tribal Spear 0 -> 2 forge slots
Sleeping Bag - now disabled for 3 combats on use. Also 2 -> 4 spaces Rare -> Legendary
Warmstome 1 -> 2 burn
Reaper 10 -> 8 damage

Bug Fixes
Fixed a glitch where "Sap" carvings would combo on 2 instead of 3
Fixed a glitch where items could play their "On Discard" effect when your turn ends
Stone of Awakening can only be found by pochette
Fixed a glitch when viewing enemies in combat
The marching whistle now removes "unitl use" effects
You can no longer retain selection of enemies that are pushed behind a defender
Added some translations necessary for the Reaper weapon

Bug Fixes:

  • Poison no longer degrades 2 each turn
  • You cannot add block to the ninja costume's perecntage modifier
  • Fixed a glitch when loading games as Tote
  • Third-eye sword is only for Pochette
  • Lenny can now use their own mana to summon

Pochette Re-design Hotfix 2

Bug Fixes:

  • Recalling all pets now requires energy (as stated)
  • The search in the Item Atlas now opens the Steamdeck keyboard
  • Updated the tutorial so it is more compatible with controllers / Steamdeck
  • Fixed a glitch where enemies lost rage/haste before their action
  • Using the Die at a Pet Burrow will now create new pets
  • If you used a spare die before a regular die, you still get the extra item picks!
  • The reaper is available only for Pochette
  • Fixed an issue when reorganizing pet inventories during combat
  • Fixed a glitch where enemies that spawn when another enemy dies wouldn't always set their intention properly (especially at the start of your turn)
  • You can no longer sell items by mistake through the pet's pouch
  • Items that are moved in combat (such as the revive potions) will not open pouches unless you're in a reorganization event
  • Fixed a glitch where items wouldn't work if dragged and dropped in combat too quickly

Pochette Re-design Hotfix

Bug Fixes:
Added an explanation when you try to put other items in Pet pouches
Fixed a glitch where Pets could appear for other characters
Fixed a glitch where your inventory was sometimes not shown on load
Fixed a glitch that was breaking some relics such as the Barbell and the Glass Bottle
Pets cannot be purchased from or sold at the Store
Cards now will be moved up if they are so long they are off the screen.
Fixed a glitch where being attacked while you have haste could actually increase your block
Fixed a bug where pets wouldn't heal from the healer
You can now drag items over pouches to open them when using the controller
Fixed a glitch where Pouches could remain open after the pet was destroyed

Pochette's Rework is here!

Pochette has been entirely redesigned! No more scrolling between multiple inventories. No more losing energy when you move a pet! This new character has been getting rave reviews from our internal testers. I hope you enjoy them!

Updates:

  • Redesigned the main menu
  • Redesigned the character select screen
  • Redesigned the tutorial option
  • Added a new costume for Pochette
  • Redesigned Pouches - they're much more user friendly now!
  • Completely rebalanced items and pets for Pochette
  • Updated many sprites and images - especially the Glory Knight
  • A new category of items - the Treats. These are just for pets!

A new update is here, and with it with two highlights we're excited to share with you:

Tote’s magical re-rework


The Tote rework continues! With your feedback on the latest changes, we added a few more items for her to use, as well as improved abilities: now you can do damage based on the amount of carvings in your bag, while discarding them.

She also got two new skins and looks absolutely magical now! 🪄



Twitch integration is live


Let your chat help you, or, more likely, mess with you as you storm the dungeons! Your viewers can now vote for items that you get as combat rewards. We're trying out Twitch integration with items right now, but we’re excited to expand it to different aspects of gameplay soon! You can enable Twitch integration in the options menu!
