Bakery Simulator - Devlog #94 “More space, more machines and more colours!”
Hello Bakers!
If you ever wondered about the scale of the customization and changes you can make to your Bakery - make sure to check out the screenshots below!
This time we wanted to showcase few things at the same time!
First of all the size of the Bakery changes depending on the level of your establishment. What you're seeing on the screenshots is the bigger bakery that you will be able to unlock in the game simply by playing through it. If you reach a point in the game where you'd think to yourself "well, I need more space" then most likely unlocking it will become your main objective!
We're also preparing few customization options - we'll talk about it in greater details closer to the release date, however if you take a look at the screenshots and compare them with what you already know from the demo and other our screenshots you will quickly notice many changes throughout the whole Bakery. Walls, floor, tables and machines...
Yes, exactly, machines! There will be quite a few of them available for you to use and enhance your baking process! Hopefully that would translate into greater quality of your job and... more enjoyment! We hope they will help a lot during your baking quest and will make many of the customers happy! As in case with customization options, we'll talk more about machines closer to the release!
Speaking shortly - if you ever get bored with the initial look of your bakery you will have appropriate tools at your disposal to change it to be more to your liking!
Keep in mind that we'll let you know about the new release date of the game as soon as that is possible. Thank you for your understanding!
Thank you for tuning in to our devlog - see you in the next one!
Bakery Simulator - Devlog #93 “So many containers!”
Hello Bakers!
One container, two containers, three containers... How can there be so many containers!?
First of all we wanted to let you know that we're using the extra time before game releases to make sure that our game is polished in all aspects. We're doing extensive autumn cleaning, to say the least - getting rid of all annoying bugs and giving additional shine to features that already were working nicely. We want to make sure that the game you will receive will only profit from the extra time we're using right now!
Most likely you're already aware that you will have many different ingredients that you will be able to use during your baking adventures. This time we wanted to put some extra attention on one of the smaller details that nonetheless will be quite often in the spotlight. Containers for our ingredients! Perhaps you remember that in demo the containers were quite big and spacious? Those might be quite convenient but as they say "Rome has not been built in one day!". The containers will be different as you progress through the game.
The sheer amount of the ingredients will be different too. While you might start with only few of them on your racks you will quickly grow and develop into a Bakery that needs much more than that! You will have to order more and increase the selection - purchasing new racks will also become necessary. Just compare the difference between those two shots above and below...
...doesn't it look just lovely? Jars, bottles and eggs sorted so neatly on the shelves. Ah, the true baking paradise!
Keep in mind that we'll let you know about the new release date of the game as soon as that is possible. Thank you for your understanding!
Thank you for tuning in to our devlog - see you in the next one!
Bakery Simulator - Important Announcement - Release Date
Hello Bakers!
Release date for Bakery Simulator has been delayed.
We understand that Bakery Simulator is expected by many players and we know that you have high expectations for the title. As we want to meet or even exceed those expectations we want to make sure the game is polished up to the highest degree! As we don't want to make any concession regarding the quality of the game and its features we've decided to delay the release date and spend the extra time on bugfixing and polishing the existing game mechanics.
We'll be informing about new release date as soon as it's decided.
As we said previously the full version of Bakery Simulator will be quite different from the demo itself - there are many features that will be available in the full game that were absent in the demo and we want to make sure that those features work flawlessly to maximize your fun with the title.
We hope you'll have a blast managing your very own Bakery and we stay committed to our work - creating an amazing and fun game for you is our objective number one!
We also appreciate your support and understanding in this matter. Thank you!
We'll be back with more information soon - including new date of release.
Bakery Simulator - Devlog #92 “Where should my bread go to!?”
Hello Bakers!
You might think the question in the title is silly but if there are multiple orders and places to go it gets a little bit tricky!
Let's just say that we've successfully managed to avoid all of the roadblocks we've been talking about in the last devlog - or even better, we've planned our route and we're sure that nothing bad is waiting for us at the next curve. While that's important and recommended we should also remember about one extra little thing - the deliveries themselves might go to different clients! Now, that's of course not a problem, it's good to have multiple clients but what if...
...what if I tell you that we not only have several clients but those clients tend to have more than only one shop? Yes, that's the "trickiness" showing itself and keeping us on our toes! Our clients will gladly order your goodies - be it bread or croissants - but they will also want to have those delivered to a specific place which can differ depending on the order!
Generally speaking, it means that we're minimizing the number of times when you'll have to drive to a certain location over and over again - we want the targets of your deliveries to be diverse and different so you can visit the whole city and not just some of it. Your clients will have different branches and you will have to navigate yourself properly to reach all of them (or just some of them, depending on the number of orders!).
In other words - don't fall into a routine! Even if you know a certain client and you're sure you can reach their place solely depending on your memory - it's better to check whether it's definitely the same shop that is calling for your products this time!
See you again - in the next devlog - in the meantime imagine the sweet goodness awaiting you in the Donut Dude...
Bakery Simulator - Devlog #91 “What to do when the road is closed?!”
Hello Bakers!
What?! Another blocked road? But I've got deliveries to finish!
It's almost never good to be late. Especially if we're talking about professional obligations. Everyone tends to get a little bit frustrated when deadlines are almost upon us. In our line of work that goes both for people in the Bakery, drivers and customers. But imagine what must a driver feel when he is already getting close to being late and then suddenly sees that the road he took is unpassable and he needs to find another one? Oh, the horror!
That's the life in the city though. Sometimes roads will get blocked and you need to be properly prepared for that possibility. Thankfully, we're not going to make it too difficult for you as we know that sudden changes to your carefully crafted plan might only irritate you. Instead, we'll give you an option to plan your delivery accordingly in order to avoid unnecessary stress and showcase your awesome planning/driving skills. Isn't that great? Before the delivery, you'll be able to check what roads are currently potential issue-makers and you will be able to plan your way around those points!
The roadblocks itself might happen due to variety of reasons. Perhaps there was an accident and now you can't drive through as medical staff is tending to victims or maybe Police is trying to catch someone and they purposefully blocked some paths they believe to be escape roads. The accidents themselves might be different so you'll most likely see different situations while riding through the city. Of course there is also a chance that right now, in the crucial moment, a parade or protests are on-going...
Every day those blocked paths will change and every day you'll be able to check them before going out to deliver your goodies. Make sure to always check the map - it will save you a lot of problems!
See you again - in the next devlog!
Best regards,
Bakery Simulator team
Bakery Simulator - Devlog #90 “A fresh point of view!”
Hello Bakers!
This time we'll take a look at some of the new menus we've designed for the game!
We know that it's important to look good. This is true for people, cars, phones... and also for Bakeries! Aside from the possibility of customizing the Bakery we also want to make sure that what you see on your screen is looking amazing! Recently we've been busy with designing a great-looking UI - one that would simultaneously catch your eye and not be obtrusive. We hope that the concepts that we're presenting to you right now will encapsulate our thoughts and ideas.
A lot is going to change, as you can clearly see in the screenshot above. While the Bakery itself remains the cozy place that we already know and like - the icons, timers, and images that you'll be seeing on your screen are all going to become much more pleasant to look at. We're aiming at utilizing kind, soft colors that will make your experience even more relaxing and fun.
Even the Cookbook will go through some changes. As we want to simulate a nicely looking real-life cookbook all of you that enjoy writing in your own notebooks might feel at home seeing its look right now. It will neatly group all the important information in particular sections together with icons and bookmarks that you will be able to click in order to learn more about a particular type of bread.
We're not forgetting about the driving! That part of the game also receives some very welcomed changes. We'll try to feed you all the important information without cluttering the screen as we want to have all the necessary information close to you. We're also working closely on the icons we design to make sure that you'll understand their purpose just by looking at them.
Do keep in mind that as we work on those changes some things might look a bit different in the final version of the game - nonetheless we'll strive for perfection!
See you again - in the next devlog!
Best regards,
Bakery Simulator team
Bakery Simulator - Devlog #89 “It's a new ride!”
Hello Bakers!
Deliveries are important and it's crucial to make them in style!
We've received a lot of great feedback regarding our delivery system and we want to assure you that we're looking into the possibility of making this particular part of the game more fun and interesting! We're starting with the car itself - we've noticed that we can make some improvements to the model to make sure you feel great while doing deliveries.
As you can see our ride is ready to drive us to any point we wish so! In this particular model we're sure to make all deliveries on time and meet all deadlines! We're also flashing the logo of our Bakery on the back door so everyone knows that there is one true baking King/Queen in town! Not only we have a great car now but we're also partially advertising our services that way - two birds with on stone (although no animals have been harmed here!).
At the same time we're happy to say that we're thinking about further improvements to this particular mechanic and we would love to hear even more feedback from people currently playing the demo - what do you think about driving in our game and what do you think that we should change in order to make this particular part more fun? Let us know in the comments and be assured that we're checking all comments on Steam Discussion Board!
See you again - in the next devlog!
Best regards,
Bakery Simulator team
Bakery Simulator - Devlog #88 “Upgrading the Donut!”
Hello Bakers!
What would life be without donuts?
It's a scary thought, I know, the world without donuts wouldn't be as we know it today. We strongly believe that donuts might be a big part of making the world as is right now and we don't even want to imagine the chaos if they were suddenly to disappear. With that in mind, we've been recently working on a better donut machine and we're happy to showcase it in this devlog!
Ah, just look at this beauty. We can't wait to see the donut-making process! First things first though - you'll need to provide this machine with some properly formed dough in order for it to work. Then you'll have to set the temperature of oil and start the machinery - be careful, you will be dealing with a hot, hot, hot oil! No worries though - a small led light will let you know whether the oil is cold (the red one) or hot (green). Just make sure to take a look before doing anything.
After correctly setting everything up you'll be able to start making your own donuts - they will appear in the upper part of the machine and slowly move toward the end of it. Just like in real life you will have to flip the donut so it's evenly fried on both sides. Failure to do so or keeping the donuts too long in the machine might spell their doom... and failed cooking which we really don't want to!
You'll be able to see how your donuts slowly take the desired shape throughout the frying process. As long as you keep your cool (and keep your heat for the donuts) you should be able to do just fine!
See you again - pretty soon!
Best regards,
Bakery Simulator team
Bakery Simulator - Devlog #87 “Spice and Bakery!”
Hello Bakers!
Let's add some spice to our life!
Well, look at that! That's a lot of spices! And what is even more fun - they're all at your disposal! During your daily baking endeavors, you'll be able to add certain spices to the mix that you yourself will have to choose and select. Adding that little bit of extra oomph to the recipe might just be an amazing way of ensuring that your creation tastes great and will be appropriately appreciated by your customers!
Of course, you're also free to not use spices at all - it's an extra touch that might add something to your goods but if you select poorly you might ruin whatever you're trying to bake. For each of the recipes, there will be a spice that nicely complements the pastry but also one that will not work well together. As you continue playing the game and experiment with the spices you will slowly learn which one works great with particular products! Additionally - the in-game Bakerypedia will also have a subtle hint for you regarding the appropriate selection of the spices so you might want to spare a moment to read about the pastry you're currently trying to make.
As soon as you find and use a good spice the information about it will be added to the Bakerypedia!
What is more, while you might not use the spices at all using the correct one will yield additional financial gain for your trouble! Consider it a nice gesture from your customers as they appreciate the extra step you took in order to satisfy them.
While with spices we want to add an additional layer of gameplay to the game we also don't want to overcomplicate it - the spices will behave a little bit different compared to normal ingredients - for example, you will not have to worry about selecting the right amount of them - you can simply focus on selecting the right one! They will also be separated from other ingredients and will be placed in a different part of the Bakery.
Keep in mind that you will be able to use only one spice for a particular pastry - choose well... but if you make a mistake and want to correct yourself you can always do that by using the extractor tool!
See you again - pretty soon!
Best regards,
Bakery Simulator team
Bakery Simulator - Devlog #86 “Decorating the bigger room!”
Hello Bakers!
As your fame grows in the city the same goes for the Bakery itself!
As we have already mentioned in one of the previous devlogs - the Bakery that you manage will at one point perhaps need an extension. As you're raking in additional orders and require more space to make sure that you can manage the extra work needed for their successful finalization we're making sure that future bigger versions of the Bakery will still look cozy and nice while simultaneously professional!
What you can see on the screenshots is not the first make-over that your Bakery will receive - we believe that this kind of progress should be done manually and that is why there will be additional steps before you will have this much space at your disposal. However, we're happy to present you with the possible goal that you might strive for - a big, spacious area perfect for all your baking needs.
And if you wonder whether you need that much space - yes, you do! The additional machines that you will be able to use will simply require the area to comfortably set them in and allow for fun and safe working conditions. We wouldn't want anyone stumbling and hitting themselves or falling into the hot oven, right? Well, certainly not!
We hope that you will enjoy playing around in your big Bakery!
