1. Fixed an issue of repeated constructions to complete goal on Hongye starter challenge if challenge was failed before. 2. Clicking M or ESC key while clicking "Challenge" button no longer causes a stuck. 3. Fixed an special effects issue with North Desert's Observatory. 4. Future Development Plans
Hello everyone. Firstly, I sincerely thank each of you for playing our game and sharing your feedback and opinions with us. I personally sat and read all the reviews and discussed them with the team. I think it would be appropriate for me to answer some of your questions as the main lead of this project, and share Seasun's future plans for Ballads of Hongye. I hope my words will make our future direction clear and allow you to keep an eye on us. I'll start by answering some of the recurring questions both in Steam and our Discord community, then later explain our future plan.
1. Why do we have time limited challenges? What's the purpose of having such a system? When we were at the beginning of development, we had a general idea of creating a simulation/management game that would progress by passing certain checkpoints and expanding your HQ infinitely by constantly reaching harder and more complex checkpoints. In reality, these checkpoints were numerical checks, but how to reach these numerical points would be the real challenge for us. City-building, as one of our favorite genres, seemed well suited to establish the task of combining numerical targets. We have discussed extensively about going the traditional route for city builders, but as a team we decided to do something out of the ordinary. Our idea grew into putting the player as a mayor, a ruler of a city, where the player would learn the game together with the main character in the game. I think as an idea, we nailed this aspect, but after reading your opinions and feedback, I realize that we haven't been that successful with numerical adjustments and balancing. I feel terribly sorry for the issues stemming from this balance and other related issues. We will, undoubtedly, improve these things as quickly as we can.
2. Why don't we have a Sandbox mode or something similar in Ballads of Hongye? As some of you may know, our development team is relatively small, and our main task was to deliver the core gameplay content: such as architecture, environments, art , details, other gameplay systems... Hence, we haven't developed a sandbox mode, and preferred to focus on our original idea and develop it first. In the future, we are looking forward to making the game modes that are more in-line with other similar games, and providing our players with more options.
3. Why do challenges feel so difficult? We have developed a series of adjustment plans for each stage within a challenge, and we will continue to optimize and balance many aspects, such as disaster occurance rate, talent unlock conditions and costs, management tools to a satisfactory degree.
As for our development plan, we are sharing our short-term and long-term goals with you, and will keep our community updated with latest progress as soon as possible in the upcoming days.
Short term goals: 1. Optimize and adjust the difficulty, including reducing the frequency of disasters, optimizing problems such as high difficulty in challenges, talents and fast-paced gameplay; 2. Introduce a series of quality of life improvements for designing roads, building placement, tumuli issues, talent functionality, city tiers etc. We are also considering the impacts of allowing pause on build and its feasibility for our unique setting. 3. Performance optimizations will be gradually introduced to solve low frame rate and fps drops 4. A new mode, on top of the existing ones, has been put on schedule. In this mode, players can directly use in-game resources to buy new lands and new buildings instead of completing the stages.
Long term plans: 1. Tune the game to be more in-line with traditional methods and designs of similar games 2. New lands to build on, and new challenges 3. More buildings, wonders and transportation vehicles 4. A free DLC for all of our players. We'll update you with what will be included in this DLC later.

1. Fixed a text display problems in Ding Hong's Journal 2. Fixed the problem that the final target of the challenge was disappearing after players load the challenge from a save. 3. Market would trigger and would move you back to Hongye interface during a challenge. This won't be happening anymore. 5. Fixed some numerical issues for the ledger and bank interface. 6. Fix an issue preventing some achievements to trigger on Steam when players reach the conditions for it. Players who have achieved these conditions will be automatically granted these achievements, and do not need to redo them. 7. Fixed an issue that was incorrectly deducting adviser salaries. 8. Resources displayed in ledger is now correctly synchronized with the resource display in the main interface.
Optimizations:
1. Several adjustments to talent menu to reduce performance impacts when talents browsed too quickly, 2. Text optimization to display key info in Repair Division tooltip, 3. Adjustments to the ledger for better readability for both text and information, 4. Building orientation no longer randomly changes for preview structure when you construct a building.
Adjustment:
1. Talent - The mud road is directly unlockable from the start without any additional conditions, and the unlock cost has been adjusted to 1 gold. 2. Adviser Yinyue cannot change jobs now, nor can be poached by other counties. If it was previously poached, Yinyue will also return to your side. If she was fired, she still leaves.
