Lake Guntersville Lowdown

Lake Guntersville was created by the Guntersville Dam in 1939 and is named after the town of Guntersville which is said to have received its name from an early settler of that region, John Gunter.

In Bassmaster Fishing 2022, Lake Guntersville is a 42km2 stretch of water. To date over 4,000,000 fish have been caught with 1,130,918 of those being Largemouth Bass, 496,327 Spotted Bass, and 194,288 Smallmouth Bass. The saying goes “The early bird catches the worm” and that is certainly the case here with over half the total fish caught having been caught at sunrise!

Once again the Jenko Fishing, Jenkolistic Swimbait seems to be the lure of choice but will it be in your load out throughout the competition?

Good luck out there and tight lines

ST. LAWRENCE RIVER ONLINE ELITE SERIES WINNER ANNOUNCED

The St. Lawrence River Online Elite Series event has come to an end, and it was one of the most dramatic yet with the top 10 anglers and the leader changing hands between every round. We had over 2,150 anglers take part in the event so congratulations to everyone who took competed!

Let’s remind ourselves of what went down across the intense 3 rounds of competition in the St. Lawrence River Online Elite Series!

Round 1: NEW BLOOD!

Round 1 and the top 10 feature a lot of new names. It’s exciting to see new faces challenging for the top spots! There are a few familiar anglers in there though with lottoeloopoo, XEagles88Fanx, LoneRanger469, stumain, and the ever-present swifty86ttv! But the top spot in Round 1 goes to Juan Da Don4041 with an impressive 53lb 6oz limit with lottieloopoo a meager 1oz behind!

Round 2: Top 10 Shake Down!

Fast-forward to Round 2 though, and the leader board is looking very different, we’ve lost names and we have more new pros claiming the elusive top 10 spots! Juan Da Don4041 has dropped from 1st to 10th and clearly struggled a little to repeat the impressive bag from Round 1.

xUx Enno claims the top spot in Round 2 with an impressive 53lb 6oz bolstering a very respectable Round 1 score and BBmatia91 claims the Monster Bag of the event with a HUGE 54lb 3oz limit launching them from outside the top 10, into 2nd place. It was all to play for in Round 3.

Round 3: Bringing it Home!

Round 3, Championship Weekend. All to play for.

…and it certainly didn’t disappoint.

Here are the Super Six (the top 6 anglers) from the St. Lawrence River Online Elite Series!

Congratulations to BBmattia91, the St. Lawrence River Online Elite Series winner. Despite a Round 1 score that didn’t place them in the top 10, 2 awesome limits in Rounds 2 and 3 have secured BBmattia91 their first victory!

Winners Interview

We spoke to BBmattia91 after his win to ask a few questions!

Benjamin – Congratulations on your St. Lawrence River Online Elite Series win, BBmatia91. What does the win mean to you?

BBmattia91 – I’m simply happy! I’m very passionate about bass fishing and I love how Bassmaster Fishing 2022 has captured the spirit of competitive bass fishing with these online tournaments.

Benjamin – Fishing on the St. Lawrence River seems like it was a little more challenging than some of our previous tournaments, how do you prepare for these events?

BBmattia91 – Yes, compared to the previous event at Toledo Bend this was a more challenging tournament to compete in. At Toledo, I was able to focus my time on fishing around 1 location but at St. Lawrence, depending on the water temperatures I needed to rotate between 4 or so locations to find the fish I needed.

Benjamin – What was your go-to load-out during the St. Lawrence River Online Elite Series?

BBmattia91 – I love the soft plastic 7inch Tremor Shad and I use that most of the time with the Fitzgerald Spinning rod with 50lb braided line. I caught my biggest bass of the event using the Jenkolistic Swimbait though!

Benjamin – Finally, what advice would you give to players who have their sights set on winning one of our online tournaments?

BBmattia91 – My advice is to just practice, the water temperatures are also so important to your success so make sure you have hotspots marked on your GPS that you know might be successful for you at varying water temperatures. I also watch a lot of community videos and live streams to learn from other players.

Monster Bag

MONSTER BAG! This is the angler who had the biggest bag from across all 3 rounds of the competition.

Congratulations to BBmattia91 on not only winning the event but also securing an awesome 54lb 3oz limit in Round 1!

Congratulations to all the anglers who took part in St. Lawrence River Online Elite Series. We will have details on the next one, soon!
