  • Improved DirectX12 support as older Direcx12 cards could not run the game in DirecX12 mode. Older cards may be unable to use nanite even when in DirectX12 mode.

Important changes:



  • Large CPU performance improvements.
    Tested with 600 people + 1000 animals and a large city
    Previously: 25 Fps
    Now:60 fps

  • The most significant improvement has been the consistency in frame times. There was a bit too much happening in individual frames. These have been stretched over extended periods, redoing most villager and animal systems and finding the worst offending events. This is something that could still be improved in the future. This has removed most stutters.

  • Ram usage was also targeted. There was a glitch that took up 2GB for no reason that was fixed, and other changes have allowed the initial RAM usage to go from 8 GB to 3 GB.

  • The game size has also been reduced from 4.3 GB to 2.2 GB

  • RVT system has been dramatically improved. This improves the landscape's visual, removes all of the blurriness while moving around, and removes the need for a constant update of the snow visual. There is still a slight flickering for paths and fields, but it is much better.

  • There is now a controls popup that will appear at the start of a new game, showing all of the details for camera and map movement.



  • Greatly improved food collection formula, villagers will now store large amounts of food in their homes if they can.

  • A few jobs have been changed to allow much more resources to be collected from the warehouse. This will reduce the time workers spend walking around and create more items.

  • The nearest church will now be shown on the house UI. If no church is displayed, then there is not one within range, and the occupants will not be able to attend church.

  • Camera movement has significantly been smoothed.

  • Happiness has been reworked and will take much longer to cause people to leave.

  • One of the performance and frame smoothing improvements came from having the people list not update itself. It will now only update when opening or when clicking the update button.

  • Smoother villager movement up close.

  • Raised max firewood amount that can be selected due to the previous amount not being suitable for populations higher than 200.

  • Longer free time at night ending at 1 am rather than 12 to give more time for people to go to taverns and collect food and water.

  • Snow trails. Villagers will now leave trails when moving through deep snow. The trails will get covered up over time. There are also slight interactions with puddles.



  • Villagers will grab much more water at night to last longer.

  • Changed to a different snow system.



  • Added x3 game speed so there is now x0 x1 x2 x3 and x5.

  • UI no longer opens when constructing or creating paths.

  • When clicking on a load file, it will highlight what is selected.

  • Added a movement queue to limit the amount per frame to remove considerable lag from time changes such as 6 am.

  • Families will appear more often if there are many empty homes.

  • Reduced the age of incoming families.

  • Improved pathfinding performance.

  • Villagers are now more likely to get three traits.

  • Added four new traits Alcoholic, non Alcoholic, calm and gloomy. These traits will affect Happiness.

The recent update is now available. The update was held up due to a bad crash issue. All spawning and removal of building Huds were redone if you find any problems, please comment on them, and I will try to fix them as soon as possible.

    Reverted to the last version while a crash is being fixed.

  • Nanite allows highly detailed visuals at a much lower performance cost than it would have been. Trees can activate nanite by being set to epic in graphics, but nanite foliage does not perform as well as static buildings. Currently, the building highlight is broken with nanite and will be fixed (It only works with DirectX 12).

  • Temporal super-resolution, similar to DLSS, allows the resolution to be dropped and upscaled to the set screen resolution. This provides significant performance boosts, and as long as the percentage is not dropped too low, then it usually isn't noticeable (lower than 50% is usually noticeable and doesn't seem to work as well on direct 11).

  • Virtual shadow maps provide much more detailed shadows at a longer distance with a slight performance cost (Shadows can flicker without nanite enabled).

  • Lumen is a cheaper lighting alternative to raytracing but still costly so there is a toned-down version of lumen available.

  • Bear and wolf caves added around the map, only available in new games. Bears and wolfs will attack anyone near the caves. If all the animals are killed at a cave, no more will spawn.

  • Changed graphics menu to provide more control and make more customized presets that adjust screen resolution for TSR benefits.

  • Snow visual will now be forced to update, fixing the blocks of snow not updating without movement.

  • Orchard trees can now die and must be removed and replanted.

  • Switched to a better landscape RVT method also increased max RVT resolution.
