Did you know that Batora: Lost Haven has more than one ending?
The core of the Batora: Lost Haven experience is not only the combat system based on its dualism, but also the narrative, which with its multi-branching allows the player to be the master of their own destiny. Make the choices you prefer and get to the ending that best suits you, with the possibility of increasing the longevity of the game thanks to the high rate of replay value.
Batora: Lost Haven, in fact, has 4 different endings and with the latest patch that we released on PC and which will soon be available on consoles as well, we decided to highlight this aspect even more.
How to recognize narrative branches
Every time you have an important choice to make you will have a precise and distinguishable signal on the screen, and sound effects will accompany you in understanding that you are faced with something important. We have also added two essential moments to help you understand how many endings you have unlocked.
Once you've finished the game, a pop-up will appear to tell you how many of the 4 endings you unlocked, reminding you that you still have more to unlock, depending on the number of your runs. Once you're back in the main menu, the one on the initial screen, where you can decide whether to load a game or play a new one, you'll notice some lit-up mandalas on the bottom.
How to track unlocked endings
We've added 4 mandalas that will light up and color based on how many endings you've unlocked by making your specific choices throughout the game. In this way you will have the possibility to know how many different branches you have taken and how many times you have to finish the game again, with the aim of unlocking the other endings at your disposal.
Let's make a practical example! During the adventure you will come to unlock one of the 4 endings, making certain choices that will lead you to side with some rather than others (we won't give you spoilers!). At the end of the first run, the mandala in the lower right corner will light up, which will make you understand that you have unlocked the first ending.
What does it mean? That you are missing 3 more! The order of the mandalas will always be the same, so there won't be a correspondence between the symbol and the unlocked ending, but simply a numerical sequence.
Had you noticed this? How many endings have you discovered yet?

We have arrived at the last in-depth analysis dedicated to the 21.12 patch with which we have made important changes not only to the combat system, but also to the first hour of the game, adding total support to Steam Deck and also going to add a difficulty selector. While waiting for the patch to arrive on consoles in the coming weeks, here are more details on the technical improvements made to the PC version of Batora: Lost Haven.
Added frame rate uncap - On PC we unlocked the frames, deciding to play in two different modes. The first with the frame rate locked up to 240fps and with the vertical synchrony active, the second instead expects to be able to play with the unlocked (variable refresh rate), unlimited frame rate, autonomously choosing the fps limiter, but with the v-sync off.
Full Support 21:9 aspect ratio - On PC, Batora: Lost Haven correctly supports 21:9 (and 16:10) aspect ratio for both user interface and scene rendering.
Added skip sequences - you can now skip all the cutscenes you want in order to speed up the gaming experience (especially if you are doing a second run and have already watched all possible scenes). The dialogues, on the other hand, continue to be skippable manually, one by one. Only the game boot sequence the first time you start Batora: Lost Haven can’t be skipped.
Full compatibility on Steam Deck - We have improved the readability of text throughout the game. When starting Batora: Lost Haven, the game runs in fullscreen mode at the native Steam Deck resolution of 1280x800. Then, all the available features are now active on Batora: Lost Haven: the controller icons are now shown, the in-game interface text is legible and all functionality is accessible using the default controller configuration.
This was the latest update on our last patch. We trust that we have responded to all your feedback and respected all your requests. Our support for Batora: Lost Haven will obviously not end here and in the coming weeks we will continue to keep you updated on the upcoming news regarding the game.

You told us that you would have liked a difficulty selector in Batora: Lost Haven, so you can choose how to face your adventure with Avril. We have decided to listen to your feedback and insert 3 different degrees of difficulty, so as to allow you to adapt your adventure to your needs.
We told you about it in our patch notes, but now let's go into more detail! To recover all the additions, you can check our patch notes.
None of the 3 difficulty modes will affect the acquisition of Trophies and Achievements.
Before the patch - Batora: Lost Haven had only one difficulty level and attacks made in one nature (for example, physical) did 100% damage to the opponent of the same nature, instead a special coefficient was used to calculate the damage of the opposite nature, which was much less, but still present.
After the patch - Now you have the possibility to select your degree of difficulty and consequently go to modify the coefficient that determines the amount of damage inflicted on the opponent of an opposite nature to yours. The mode can be changed at any time by accessing the game menu, therefore not the main menu, and changing the selector. We reiterate that no variation for Trophies and Achievements will occur, but only a greater or lesser difficulty in the fights.
The 3 modes - It will be possible to select:
Loose difficulty, in which the difference of colors is canceled and the damage can be done in the same mode and quantity both to the enemy with your same nature and to the opposite.
Standard difficulty, which will be the same as you played until before the patch released on December 20, so with 100% damage to enemies of your own nature and a damage relative to a coefficient for the opposite nature.
Strict difficulty, the highest and most difficult one: you will only damage the corresponding nature, totally canceling the damage inflicted and making the game experience much more complex.
Obviously, hybrids, in all modes, will continue to suffer damage in both natures, as will happen for boss battles, depending on the nature indicated.
In the next few days we will keep giving you more details regarding the main innovations listed in our latest patch notes, so that we can accompany you on a journey to discover Batora: Lost Haven! In the meantime, remember that Batora: Lost Haven is still available at the Steam Winter Sale, available with a 20% discount on the final price until tomorrow!

How we’ve improved Batora: Lost Haven’s combat system
The combat system, together with the multi-branching narrative, is certainly the heart of the Batora: Lost Haven experience. Many of you appreciated the idea of dual nature, but we listened to your feedback in this case too by making changes to some aspects, so as to make the whole gameplay more dynamic and also more visually spectacular. Here are the major details regarding the changes made with the latest patch on December 21st.
Intensity Feedback Impact - Visually we wanted to improve the impact that Avril's sword, or any other blow from her, inflicts on an opponent. Thanks to the Freeze Hit, once a mob is hit, it will suffer a backlash that will lead it to freeze on itself and interrupt the animation, as if it were, in fact, frozen. This aspect, already present in the game, has been enhanced to have a greater visual and more realistic impact.
To make all of this have an even higher value from a visual point of view, we added a more present camera shake: a VFX effect that is generated both in the zoom-in and in the zoom-out view, attacking both physically and mentally. At the same time, the SFX for physical and mental hits has been improved.
Attack Queue - We've already talked about how we implemented a memory system for the combos you're going to perform, but we'll talk about it in more detail now. This means introducing a memory system that remembers the keys you press, no matter what strokes Avril is making. Pressing a key, on the other hand, is much faster than the action performed by Avril herself, so you will find yourself making combos with your key combinations that will go faster than how Avril can make her animations. For this reason we have ensured that the system can keep the next action in memory and loop all the animations following your instructions, without losing anything.
A practical example: if after dodging we want to hit immediately, the system will remember that you pressed the hit button immediately after the dodge button and will perform the animations in sequence.

Massive changes in the first hour of the game: find them all out!
From your feedback, it emerged that the first hour of Batora: Lost Haven did not fully reflect what is the overall adventure which develops in the following hours. For this reason we have been working hard to make the first approach with Avril more dynamic and also to modify the Oniric Arena, following all your indications!
After our latest post giving you an overview of everything that the new patch introduced, here is a greater detail regarding the changes made in the first hour of the game!
Inside the Oniric Arena - the first version of the arena allowed you to defeat an enemy with one hit, no matter what nature you were in. Instead, now you will be able to engage in real combat against the enemies in the Arena, to be prepared for what the overall game will be.
Avril continues to be immune, therefore she will not suffer hits, but the fight must be carried out on a regular basis, therefore following the options of dualism. 4 to 5 strikes in both physical and mental nature will be required to defeat each enemy! We also decided to remove the skills, which were all initially unlocked, so that Avril can only use basic attacks, as well as in the first few hours of the game.
The Oniric Arena - We have decided to change the appearance and setting of the Oniric Arena as well. We’ve replaced the huge square arena filled with ruins scattered around the perimeter with flying islands in the sky, from which it is possible to observe the planets below. In the background there will be infinity and waterfalls have been added, to enhance the feeling of a dreamlike environment.
From an art direction point of view, we wanted to recreate an unconscious perception of Batora's power as she is trying to contact Avril. The Oniric Arena becomes, to all intents and purposes, an environment in which space has no limits and time bends and takes shape, so much so that all normal forces lose scientific coherence. Thus Avril finds herself living an out-of-body experience, which ends up giving her the ability to perceive contact with Batora and see the planets in which she will face her adventure. She hears the screams, feels the power of Sun and Moon, and even understands the endless duel.
After the Oniric Arena - From a gameplay point of view, we have decided to improve the pacing fight, with a balance that increases the duration of the fights, but always leaving you with that sense of power that distinguishes the first hour of the game.
Immediately after the Oniric Arena, we also decided to balance the first battles on Gryja more, so as to make the gameplay experience more rewarding until the arrival of Carador.
Another aspect that we have decided to enhance is the reduction of tutorials during the game, to streamline the presence of text on the screen and make the gaming experience much more dynamic!
